This thread is not to discuss bugs, or progress on bugs. If you need more information on a specific bug or issue, please post that in the appropriate Forum and Threads.
Now, a number of the things you have mentioned here are NOT bugs on their own, but performance related issues. These will continue to be addressed as we improve the way the game performs on all Devices.
Lastly, this whole "prioritizing new content over bug fixes" thing that keeps coming up is very wrong. We have very different teams that do very different things. You can't ask a Quest Designer to fix a character bug, or the designers of Alliance Wars Seasons to be focussing on an engineering task, like fixing lagging in certain areas.
Hey Miike,
What would you resort to if lets say you ranked up your favorite champ (Capt Marvel) to the highest level, utilizing your most valuable resources ranking up this character.
Now, your favorite character you come to realize is BROKEN. You cant even play her properly because the specials get blocked.
You report it and wait. Wait one week, one month, one year and even MORE.
You continue to get told that "they are looking into it" and it's "more complicated than it seems". This issue goes on for more than a year. Sometimes reporting falsely that it's being fixed.
Now you see those same people continue developing new content, fixing bugs that benefit you, the player, but that issue that actually matters to you is left in the dust.
What good does it do asking for an update on your original thread if you have already waited years for this to get fixed.
Not even a character specific rank down ticket can be given, why? Who knows.
Why cant more resources be hired? Its a very simple solution. Can you honestly say that people have been "actively" working on this bug when it takes years to complete?
Honestly Mike what would you do?
I played an MMO before where a persistent bug affected one kind of character type, such that this character type's strongest abilities often times simply failed to operate at all randomly. The devs claimed to try to fix it, but it persisted for several years. I myself contributed to testing and brainstorming regarding the problem. When the problem was finally resolved, it turned out to have almost nothing to do with any of the suggested sources of the problem: it was a subtle race condition in the spawning code for the engine that was impossible to reproduce except under certain live conditions, and no content designer could realistically fix it without entirely new technical mechanics that were not added to the game until years later for different purposes.
Sometimes these things are simple. Sometimes they are not simple. It is impossible for the players to know which is which. And while technically speaking you could just hire more resources, brand new resources hired today would likely be unproductive for a very long time. It takes new hires many months if not longer to become productive in a new game environment. You can't hire some one today to fix technical problems the current staff cannot easily locate and resolve. You'd have to hire new people, train them up to do easy stuff, move the people on the easy stuff to the harder stuff, move the people on the harder stuff to the even harder stuff, divert the people on the even harder stuff to the unresolveable problem, then wait a few months until they come up to speed on it. And while you are doing this, the problem might get solved because of circumstantial changes, and then all that shuffling just cost you time and money, and now you have a bunch of people who have nothing to do. Unless you want to divert them to the next unresolved problem and macarena the entire staff again.
Fact is, everyone here who has an actual job works for a company that could hire more people to serve their customers better, and the question "well, why not then" is fundamentally an unanswerable question.
Couple things
1- why no rank down specific tickets?
2- has this seriously and actively been worked on weekly since being reported (the start of this game)
3- there are a multitude of bugs this game has which is why Mike had to make the comment he did in the first place, clearly they need more people even if it takes months to train them

Last one is bang-on and to paraphrase:
The customer IS NOT always right!
But there's a great chance that many saying the same thing, are.

1. Kabam has never said that. Kabam said that while they were issuing RDTs in 12.0 because that was a unique extraordinary case involving champions being changed in significant ways, they would *not* issue RDTs in general when things changed and if they ever did again it would be in a different form. Players somehow mutated that statement to misquote Kabam as saying they would only issue RDTs when champions were significantly changed, and then that Kabam would issue RDTs when champions were changed. But Kabam has never said that: in fact they've only stated the opposite: that in general RDTs would not be issued outside of unusual circumstances and not in the same form as in 12.0 in any case.
2. Don't ask questions you don't want answers to. I'm only addressing the facts, it is not my place to defend every action that Kabam takes. In fact, most of the time I'm objecting to actions Kabam takes. But no amount of disagreement with Kabam will cause me to contradict the facts.
3. Kabam doesn't continuously ignore customers. Kabam, like all companies, doesn't always do what a small percentage of their customers demand. Try getting fifty people to complain on a McDonalds forum that they should start selling pizzas.
In terms of bidirectional communication with their customers, as a game company Kabam is below average in that regard. I've stated that more than once. But in terms of Kabam producing a product that their customers want to play overall, Kabam is at least average in that regard among game companies. Anyone who thinks Kabam is exceptionally bad, or even slightly below average in this regard, simply hasn't played enough massively multiplayer games.

1. Tickets were never said to be for when Champs aren't performing as intended.
2. Ongoing issues that are being worked on are not a case of sweeping things under the rug, and rarely will you see a resolution that involves changing the mechanics of a Champ just because something else is not operating properly. That would be the equivalent of changing the drapes because the window is broken.
3. Discussions are deleted/closed because there are Threads open on subjects, and if there is any new information, it's usually posted there. Continually opening new Threads doesn't get answers faster, and it doesn't resolve issues faster. They close/delete Threads to maintain order in the Forum and keep information amalgamated to minimize cluttering. Not to sweep things under the rug. There is a difference between ignoring and having nothing new to say.
What’s the update on t1a shortage as well as outdated arena and solo/alliance events formats/rewards? The free to play part of the game needs major overhaul, not all efforts are on making us pay more to play

1- this champion is not working as intended, Kabam has admitted they will issue rdts in cases like this. Plus this is just customer service at its core. They can just issue character specific ones as a gesture
2- so just sweep the issue under the rug? Or change the mechanics of the character so those resource don’t go to waste
3- not every company continuously ignores their customers. When a large population of customers are complaining then maybe they need to shift their focus or hire more people. It may seem like not many people are complaining but that’s due to the amount of discussions and comment that are being deleted instead of being resolved
“Rank Down Tickets are not meant to be a permanent part of the Contest. They are only for when a Character is adjusted to no longer perform the way they once did. We do not have any intention of making generic rank down tickets available again, and if there is ever a need to change a Character again, they will likely receive character specific ones.” -Kabam Miike
1- a character not working since launch date is an unusal circumstance and it still stands that it’s common customer service practice to do the right thing and issue an RDT
2- what’s the answer to irate customers waiting years to get a fix
3- people complain for sezchuan sauce and McDonald’s gave it to them
@Kabam Miike can you explain how exactly "Exhaustion Debuffs which also decrease opponent’s Power Gain effect potency." works?
I believe it means that each charge decreases how much power a ‘power gain effect’ gives the enemy champ. Eg deadpool x force, mordo, Hyperion etc will receive less power from their beneficial effects
What is each season duration? @Kabam Miike , couldnt find where it said on the announcement thread. What I've seen is 68 days from the title duration but nothing concrete
Simply put, if they can't fix certain bugs, there needs to be some sort of compensation for anyone invested.
CM has been broken since launch, docketed to be fixed in May, 2017, but still no where in site. I would reckon since they can't even begin to tackle that problem, they should give a RDT for all those invested. Especially when they promised 8-9 months it would be fixed. Anyone who makes a promise to their customer base, should fulfill said promise, or be prepared to work with the customers to find an amicable resolution. It's very simple.
Pure Skill is another scenario, where many invested heavily, the game literally changed, and its now moot. They offered reimbursements of sorts for those with Willpower when they made the change, but failed to deliver on Pure Skill. Whats worse is they don't even know HOW they are going to fix it. Yet, much like CM, they fail to work with their customer base to find an amicable resolution.
Synergy in war defense needs to be addressed. Someone at kabam needs to send out an email to all players in game stating that it is currently not working as intended along with apologies to players who have ranked up defensive teams based on incorrect information.
I'm tired of having to explain to people that putting doc oc and Antman doesn't work on defense, neither does morningstar with any of her unique buffs or the inhuman team.
It's been acknowledged in the forums and slated for both the 16.1 and 17.0 release yet it still isn't working and Kabam has refused to release an official statement. This is deceptive and unacceptable and needs to be addressed in a way that all players are informed.

I honestly don't care if it doesn't work anymore. But give us back the units, willpower nerf, suicides with willpower nerf, both scenarios got units and 5* shards respectively (even do a certain person who works for kabaam said they felt the people who had suicides didn't need to be compesated) and now we are sitting on a useless mastery, along with pierce because that also got obliterated, since armor works so different.
Why won't our units be returned? Do you know how hard it was to save 4,650 units, with a full time job?
I refuse to invest in any other mastery, I and many others are owed restitution for this obscene slight and disrespect.
That’s how they deal with everything. “Shut up and just spend money you dirty salves!!! We’ll do what we want it’s our game.”
Literal definition of “sweeping under the rug”

Submitted ticket and rep told me that they're unaware of Capt Marvel's sp2 not functioning properly. You can't make this stuff up. It's a joke. Feel like we're laughed at.
Ignore support, they told some people that it was impossible to rank 5 5* after act 5 chapter 4 had been out for a few weeks. Support know less than Jon Snow

Why would you specifically quote something that explicitly contradicts your statement? You said: "this champion is not working as intended, Kabam has admitted they will issue rdts in cases like this." In defense of this statement you quote @Kabam Miike who said "they are only for when a Character is adjusted to no longer perform the way they once did." Do you think those two statements are synonymous? @Kabam Miike has addressed this more times than I think he really wanted to, using wording different every time, but even here he does not say that RDTs are meant to address cases where champions do not function as the players think they should. In the context of everything else he said, its obvious "no longer perform the way they once did" means "above a certain threshold" or the game would be flooded with RDTs after every patch. But again, even if you decide to take @Kabam Miike literally, then even by the most ridiculous literal read of the quote you provide, Sentry was not adjusted to no longer perform the way he once did.
And when you say that it is common customer service practice to "do the right thing" and issue and RDT, McDonalds can't issue RDTs. Only MMO game companies have the notion of an RDT. And the common practice among MMO companies is to not issue such things except in unusual circumstances. Newly released content not living up to player standards is explicitly not one of those unusual circumstances where RDT-like items are issued. That's exceptionally rare.
And as to your question about what irate customers should do, you have two choices. You can choose to accept the reality that things will not happen on the timeline you desire, or you can choose not to. I choose to accept reality. It doesn't silence me or prevent me from providing feedback or even complaining about things I think are wrong. But I'm realistic about how often the company will directly address a problem I voice or implement a solution similar to one I suggest.
They probably won’t get around to fixing captain marvels bug until the movie comes out in 2019 and Brie Larson herself will have to say something about it when she gets her own challenge. Sad thing is, I’m dead serious.
Well something I hope Kabam sits up and notices...
This is the version release discussion thread. We should be discussing the new things about 17.0 like maybe the new fighting arena....
"New Fighting Arena
Battle in the Muspelheim fighting arena – inspired by Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok!"
instead it has become a long and on going rant about long term bugs and how discouraged the player base is becoming again. It seems like we are getting close to the point of another 12.0 situation.
Do you know the Chinese new year holiday is begin from Feb 15th and the holiday will last at least 7 days. It's the most important holiday to gather with families, so most Chinese won't be able to play Alliance War. In the meantime, all Chinese alliances will lost lots of points for sure. The new alliance war season calendar is sucks for every Chinese player.
Do you expect Chinese to spend money to buy red envelops as gift for alliance members and friends during new year holiday? I don't think so.
So you're saying that people don't play around christmas, new year, thanksgiving etc?
Players always play. Ofcourse you need to take some time off to be with family but not logging in for even a little bit, then you're just casual.
I have a few questions pertaining to the new update...
1 - I had the issue where the Login feature was disabled, but read on here earlier to uninstall then reinstall the game app to fix it, & it did actually fix it.
2 - I cannot download the new update on my son's iPad, nor mine. One is an iPad Mini 4, the other is an iPad Mini 2. The old Modok update is the one that keeps popping up. I'll download them on both iPad's, & it will just keep showing a feature to re-download. No problem updating on my phone.
3 - This new update came with some more added bugs, pertaining to the functionality to some champs. I only noticed them in 2, as I haven't tested it properly due to work. But OG Vision's sig ability is not working, & AA is not performing properly.
4 - Not like I need them, but I am going to mention RDT's. Again, I do NOT personally need them, but to our knowledge & also explained by the Kabam team, RDT's would only be issued if any champ(s) had some significant changes made to them. Both Red Hulk & Luke Cage received some major make-overs, & there was no talk about RDT's being issued out, due to said changes. I mean, I'm actually thinking about ranking up my Luke Cage now (something that I thought I would NEVER say), because he really is just that good now; but, again, due to these major changes there were no RDT talk.
5 - The game has bits & pieces that seem to lag, mainly on carryovers; like switching from one section of the game to another - ex: switching from crystals to alliance, etc. I haven't really played the game thoroughly yet, but will post if anything else is noticeable.
It seems like we are getting close to the point of another 12.0 situation.
Unlikely. In fact, and I mentioned this at the time, constantly comparing every single problem to 12.0 and calling for boycotts every time someone misses a parry has actually done so much damage to the whole idea of organizing a protest against something like 12.0 that I don't think you could ever do it again. I don't believe enough players take those comments seriously anymore, because they've been turned into white noise.
Comments
Couple things
1- why no rank down specific tickets?
2- has this seriously and actively been worked on weekly since being reported (the start of this game)
3- there are a multitude of bugs this game has which is why Mike had to make the comment he did in the first place, clearly they need more people even if it takes months to train them
1. Because bugs don't warrant rank down tickets.
2. Probably not. Nor can it be.
3. As I said, you can say this about every company. Every company can hire more people to improve their service to customers. Which company offers such good service that their customers deserve no more? Yours?
1- this champion is not working as intended, Kabam has admitted they will issue rdts in cases like this. Plus this is just customer service at its core. They can just issue character specific ones as a gesture

Very poor performance in this issue, Kabam...
Quoted for truth
Outsource to Blizzard already
