The very fact that they did not show it was equivalent to hiding from the average player. There is a reason people had to create calculators and other 3rd party tools
People have known all along that it was a mechanic that is used for AQ Rewards. Hence Prestige Wars. They even indicate that it's used in the game. If they were hiding it, no one would know it was used, what it was for, or even know Ratings. It just hasn't been displayed in-game until now. There are many reasons I can see for this. Mainly it's not the focus of the game. Chasing Prestige is a construct of Players trying to maximize Rewards. Fact is, people asked for it to be displayed long enough for them to include it. In any event, it's never been a secret. People have known how to calculate it as long as I've been here.
The original comment was "No more hiding from players." Which implies some sort of concealment. That's not the case. Individual Prestige has just not been visible in the game until now. Everyone and their dog that plays competitively has known their own and how to calculate it, and they've been aware that we know it for a long time. No one was hiding anything from anyone. It wasn't metric they wanted to display until now.

We're using the same words here, so how is that so hard to understand?
