I have and always will call BS on the equal chance for each character thing... this is not just based off of my play alone it included several friends, co-workers, guild members, and in game players over the past 2+ years. If there was an "equal" chance players wouldnt consistently over and over and over get the absolute worst characters in the game and at the same NEVER not once get any of the most wanted characters. In the past 2 months ive only known 1 guy to get a decent upper tier character otherwise its nothing but colossus, juggersuck, falcon, and alike tier characters time after time for everyone I know. Last year I pulled about 10 five star shard crystals the basic one and got 3x colossus, 4x juggersuck, among a few other meh characters. So I switched over to the premium 15k five star shard crystal and ya know how they still make sure to add 2-3 really crappy characters in it just for umm lets say fun... theirs not ours... but every single one of them I have opened I have gotten the worst 1 or 2 characters in it. I dont even aim for like the top 5 characters I would be happy with say someone in the top half tier so half the character pool as would just about everyone I know that plays but it only happens maybe 1/50 crystals consistently throughout player community... thats not equal chance not even close. If this was just myself I would understand and think I just have bad luck but to see the same thing time after time with every player I know thats a different story. On top of that Kabam wont issue any type of proof they just have their mods come on here and post the same response everytime " every character has an equal chance of being pulled" thats not good enough.
Would be better if you just made your own thread on this
I think Kabam is well aware of the fact that their primary demographic is working adults. I'd be willing to bet the reason that earning gold requires Arena grinding is because Kabam knows is that not all of the community can do that. That means units must be spent on gold crystals and UC events. For those same people who cannot grind for gold that translates into hope that money will be spent to accumulate units. Which makes sense, considering they're a business.
Grind, pay, or have the patience of a Saint. At least it's a formula I can understand.
you got it right I think, also better than some guardian. Who is just too busy arguing and proving the subtitle guardian. No offense. peace.
I think the big problem with gold is that donation requirements haven't been updated. With the new AQ update the map costs should have seen an update also, but they didn't. Now if you intend to play map 5 you are going to be breaking even on all resources after donations and without arena grinding. I am fortunate enough to be in a map 3 alliance with 0 donations, so I can save gold up fairly quickly, but I think it's ridiculous that map 5 practically forces you to go to the arena for resources.
@will-o-wisp you say people don't "play properly" which is of course entirely relative to your playing habits. What you consider "playing properly," many others may consider something completely different. From my perspective arena should be 100% optional and not the main place to collect gold. After all the purpose of arena is to collect champs that you want or don't have, not to maintain enough gold that you can actually rank up your champions. It is a bit harsh to say that over half the community doesn't "play properly" especially as it is an open ended definition. I play absolutely no arena and I can tell you, in my mind, that is the "proper" way to play.
Essentially it comes down to this. Do you think arena should be the main source of gold in the game or is it a viable method for acquiring gold? The way you answer this question is going to change the way you define "playing properly."
I didn't said that over half of the players don't play arena ... I'm sure that more than half plays it, whether they dedicate a lot of time or not. Arena is a good spot to farm gold, but is not the only place as you can see. Quests, crystals, AQ, AW, dungeons (when they come around) and even by selling items or ISO. In other words, you can get gold basically everywhere.
Arenas ARE optional. But if you want the rewards they give then you need to play them
@will-o-wisp from here you lost the rhythm of defending yourself. Don't write anything just because you have the title guardian. Read properly what @Werewrym has written. I was expecting your definition on "properly", thought maybe I am missing something in the game.
Its an old thread already ... But I will still stay that you need to play arena if you want gold. Dont expect it for free or to farm it easily. You can always buy it if you need it
