    You guys don't read much do you? He's not complaining about having an easy war. Yes there were no defenders so he got free attack bonus, but got screwed by the other alliances magically deciding they wanted to participate in attack phase but not defense. I agree its not cheating but its a crummy tactic that gives one alliance the idea that this'll be an easy win until, boom, all defenders down plus bosses 100% explored by 6* rank 2 squads. Kinda a misleading, cheap tactic and poor matchmaking if one alliance is able to afford to not put defenders down but still win with only attackers while the other have to put down their best champs in attack and defense and still lose. I disagree though that if you can't fill a map up on defense, you forfeit war. This seems more like an overall matchmaking issue.

    You get full bonus points for the nodes that they have no defenders, if the alliance STILL loses after that... then I’m sorry but that is not the fault of anyone but themselves
    I'm aware of this but my argument is that its clearly a mismatch if one alliance who barely puts defenders down still wins against an alliance who fills up almost all defenders. That means they're bringing in 5/65s or rank 2 6* easily stomping out all defense and bosses. How can you say that's the other allys fault when they never stood a chance in the first place? It's Kabam's shoddy matchmaking that needs to be revamped so stuff like this doesn't happen.

    Will be good to hear your view on how matchmaking can be improved. What do you suggest and why?

    Well you may mot agree with me but the video bloggers do! Seatin and the rest...so yeah! War sucks! It is obvious it subtracts diversity points rather than award them. That is part of what makes the ploy work! You don't loose diveristy points if you don't duplicate champs
    and you can avoid duplicating by leaving the map empty.
    Instead, it should subtract points for empty nodes rather than for duplicated champs...and award the points based on how many distinct champs are places...so 50 different champs with 10 being duplicated you get 50 points. Now it gives us full points and subtracts for duplication and that is being exploited!

    That's not how Diversity Points work.

    (looking at just 1 BG...)
    They get 30 pts for each Diverse Defender. So a perfect 50 unique in 1 BG gives 1500 pts. And if there are 2 Modok's but everyone else is unique they only get 1470 pts.

    If missing 1 whole player, so just 45 defenders, and even if all 45 are unique, they can only get 1350 pts for Diversity.

    They DO NOT still get 1500 just because all of the defenders that they actually bothered to bring happen to all be unique (even though they potentially have left half the map empty).

    On, and on, down to the extreme case of them leaving ENTIRE map empty, will result in ZERO pts for their Diversity. That is a huge difference in your favor.

    And in the meantime, on attack, you would get full 3x Bonus for just stepping on each of their empty (potential defensive, ie, numbered) nodes.

    This isn’t opinion you are just incapable of understanding that an empty map = easy maximum point wins.

    That doesn't seem to be true. We recently lost to an alliance with two half filled maps when both of ours were filled. Somehow we beat them on every metric except diveristy and a 50,000 "previous season bonus". So yes excuse me if i do not fully understand this totally transparant point system! FOR EXAMPLE: What is the difference between an "attack bonus" and a "full attack fight" bonus? AND? Exactly how do you score those bonus' on empty maps? The scoreboard only shows "attack bonus'" and appears to simply be a count of both with no discernable difference in points. So i will agree i do not understand the way points are awarded and frankly it isn't terribly transparent! And again it appears you wish to work less and participate less by not placing champs and running through empty maps to a win...obviously the winning is what matters to you! Not how you won. You seem to think we should all be happy NOT fighting anybody, not actually putting forth effort to win and just content to "go through the motions"..to each his own! Not my idea of fun!

    If you fought a half-full map, and still lost in the Diversity category, that means your team must have placed A LOT of Duplicates. Ie, if your team placed all 50 defenders in a BG, but 25 of them were all EXTRA DUPLICATES of ones that other people had already placed in that BG (it is “Per-BG”), and say the opponents (even though they only placed 25 defenders) if all 25 were different from each other, then both ally's scores for Diversity would actually be the same.

    And if you had the same”Attack Bonus” points as opponent, even though you only had to fight half as many defenders, then that means you basically lost a fight twice as often as what your opponents did.

    As for point calculations...
    30 pts per Diverse Defender (so 50 champ x 30 pts is Max per BG)
    ie, a Starlord and a Gamora would count 60 pts. But 2 different Starlords would only count as 30 pts. And a 4* Starlord and a 5* Starlord are treated as the SAME, so again only 30 pts.

    Attack Bonus maximum potential is 80 points times up to 3 attempts per “defensive node” (being any of the 54 different “numbered nodes” on the map).
    Win a node with just one fight, you get 3 x 80 = 240 pts. Lose one fight and then finish the node in 2nd fight and you get 2 x 80 pts. Lose twice before killing and you get just 80 pts. Once you waste 3 fights on a node, that is 0 pts (and doesn’t matter how many more times it takes before finally beating that node).
    **Also, just stepping on an EMPTY “numbered” node will give you the FULL 3 x 80 = 240 pts for that node (without having to fight anything or lose any health on your attacker).
