    I think that Mole Man just needs some time. Nobody has really figured out to play him and some of the new synergies he has gotten might just help him out, such as the ones with Guardian. I'd say it's too early to give an opinion on him if nobody has or is willing to use him based on the notion he isn't a good champion.
