Arena was fine. Change the algorithm back and swap the passive AI with the aggressive one. Done. That was all us arena grinders wanted.

If you meet an hyperion with suicides and he's 5star r5 and you've got 3 pc to choose from and they're all 4 stars and none of them has power control you die because even if you do everything you can to make him fire his sp at some point he will reach that l3 and you will die in one single blow. This is just a way to prevent us from farming arenas and it's a very nasty move from kabam. It's ALWAYS that you get matched with a team twice your pi UNLESS you are using 5/65 which I don't have many of. Which kills the idea of grinding arenas to grow because now the only way to grow is to spend and I'm not going to spend a single cent ever again on this game!!!!!
I knew there was a problem when I had the same 3 teams 6 times in a row. I am just not facing anyone with a similar pi, it’s always almost double. Done with arena until it’s fixed, well done again Kabam, rigorous testing before launch as always.
The main point in playing arena, at least for me, was to relax while doing other things (like watching tv). Now its not at all relaxing. If arena play is now a full time job, that is not my job. And I thing that is a real problem for many other veteran players.

This change is not just about those of you that have been here for years, and know the formulas and everything else about the game inside and out. When a new player joins, they don't have that information, and don't understand why they're being hit with Death Matches. In that spirit, the increase in the PI of opponents makes sense... But it's obviously making it a less enjoyable experience for the veterans, which is not the desire.
At this point it’s basically like you gave us broccoli! Yes some of will try it, eat it and maybe come to like it but there are those who will just cry at the sight of it each time arena is served.

In that you are absolutely right, but as I mentioned, why not better instead of matching 2x as maximum pi to leave it at 1.5x or 1.3x which does not harm so much, neither to new applicants nor to us who are looking for the arena mode as an effective and easy-to-do farming spot
Honestly, I could live with this as the new normal if the milestones had been meaningfully improved, rank reward shards improved, maybe 500 getting the 5*, and/or an improvement to two day arenas (thronebreakers need t2a, t5b, t5cc).
If you pulled thronebreakers into those arenas and others could earn new 5*s... yeah, that’s an improvement. Then again, those would need meaningful milestone rewards not just rank ones.
After streak 20, I started running my 6*'s. Almost all the time i got mached vs a 60k team full of r3's, same team always. I won every time, but instead of taking me 40min to run my 6*'s, it took me 1hour, with suicides. @Kabam Miike we get this wasn't the intention, but shouldnt stuff like this come out while testing it? This is so typical,trying to improve something and making it worse. Also, where's the feature to cache the star rarity selection, so after each match I dont have to select 6* again?

If so, why is there a disconnection between how the matchmaking is and the announcement/in game mail? It is stated in both the announcements and in game mail that deathmatches over 2x rating will be less likely yet they are occurring every fight.
You should NOT be punished for using maxed out 4 Stars in the 4 Star Featured Arena You should NOT be punished for using maxed out 4 Stars in the 5 Star Featured Arena > 20 Wins You should NOT be punished for using Rank 3 5 Stars in the 5 Star Featured Arena > 20 Wins You should NOT be punished for using Rank 4 5 Stars in the 5 Star Featured Arena AT ALL And if you can't handle 6 Star Rank 3's with 5/65 5 Stars, get good.
4 Stars are a critical part of an Arena grind, but if you use a full team of 4 Stars maxed out, you will run into 5 Stars maxed out. And I think over a certain number of wins, this should be manageable IF 5/50.
Remember, you get almost half the points running 4 stars, compared to 5 stars, and you can use them 3x as often, rewarding people that spend hours in the arena.

This is a bigger problem in the 5 Star Featured than the 4 Star.
Here is my proposal.
If you are using a team over 20,000, you shouldn't be matched any higher than your opponent. This is genuinely Rank 4 Level 55, or even Rank 3 Level 45 with Suicides. Because 2x that is basically 6 Star Rank 3, or 5 Star Rank 65. In the old 5 Star Featured Arena, if you ran a 15,000 PI team, against Rank 3 Level 45, a Rank 2 Level 35, or a Rank 1 Level 25, you were safe.
In this new Arena setup, you are PUNISHED for using Rank 4's, Rank 5's, and 6 Stars at all.
In order for me to win matches, or have a chance, instead of running my Rank 5 Level 50 4 Stars, which would prompt me to fight Rank 5 Level 65, 5 Stars, I use a Rank 5, with 2 Rank 3's, the OLD way of running the 4 Star Featured, and while I would fight opponents around 20,000, it's far better than fighting 40,000 PI opponents.
Now for the Rank 4's in the 4 Star Featured, you probably just use Rank 5's, but in the 5 Star Arena, you'd fight Rank 3 6 Stars, which is annoying and unneccessary.
I don't think the problem is the middle of the game, the problem is the people with developed rosters getting 6 Star Rank 3's. Do you really find THIS scenario of Arena to be fun?

Please do. The issue here isn’t that people hate that the death matches are more than 2x the rating, it’s that every single arena match has been a deathmatch for the most part.

The new version of arenas is a complete slap in the face. The death-match is more prevalent than it has ever been making the enjoyment of doing arena more like a suicidal mission for mediocre rewards. I do not play this game to have a second job I play cause of the enjoyment I get playing with my 9 yr old son. And watching him become interested in marvel as I never had the chance to. I understand the wanting to give QOL to the player base. But unfortunately you have missed the mark in such a huge way. If I did not know better I would say you have added more death matches to aggravate us in to not wanting to grinds for units or shards. If the cost of your (pro player) goal was the free 3 star version of a champion only to frustrate us even more than the bugs with content and lag of servers and shutdowns and auto log outs of other areas of the game then please please please take it back and return arenas back to a playable state. This is the feed back you wanted. I have done my best to be professional and with as much tact as I can muster. But Hear Us. This is not in anyway shape or form (pro player).
I’ve faced this exact team in arena 13 times already. I’ve gone through 25 matches. You adjusted the AI sure, but now I’m getting stuck constantly playing the same team, and it’s really just not been fun. I liked arena and the simplicity of it, but now it’s ridiculously repetitive.
