Guaranteed Crits Do Not EXIST is game

So this makes me wonder; Is anything in the game guaranteed? Or are they all just increased chance to activate?

So is the " Guaranteed Crit" in Ghost description intentional? It did they just take a short cut and forget that crit resistance exists in the game?

cannot always supersedes guaranteed, like how blade sp1 can't bleed sentinel but he cannot be bled

If you're asking a technical question, then yes, there are things in the game that are guaranteed. First, there are things with literally no activation chance. If there isn't a chance, it always happens, and if there's no chance, there's no way to reduce that chance either (barring some new mechanic that supercedes it explicitly). So for example there's no way to stop adrenalin from working: it is not an ability with an activation chance (as far as I'm aware). There are nodes that work this way as well, for example I don't believe Starburst has ability accuracy, so it always happens. The second way for something to be guaranteed to happen is if it has a 100% activation chance and is immune to ability accuracy modification.

However, many things that seem guaranteed or are even described as guaranteed are just 100% chance to happen or higher, and can be reduced below 100% through ability accuracy reduction. Also, even "guaranteed" things can be activation suppressed. For example, an immunity can make an otherwise guaranteed effect to not occur, and the game engine supports "immunity" to almost anything.

Yes I know starburst will always be applied but is that because it just happens or because it's chance is cranked up to 1000%? Champs like goldpool and longshot have abilities far more than 100%.

Maybe you knwo the code but I can only wonder. And immunity to AAR isn't a true immunity considering it is possible to bypass AAR immunity
Besides Glancing mechanic? Is there anything else that bypasses immunity to AAR?

I completely forgot about him. I think Magneto can bypass it too for #Metal champions?
However, I don't think anything can bypass immunity to dot unless that dot depends on another effect. Like Mysterio's poison being dependent on him helmet

Magneto could when first released but that was fixed

Don't know if you guys will get the notification and /or be able to see thai post.

But for coat hanger, apparently ghost crit chance is one that gives 100% chance to crit and Corvus and I guess wasp has 200% chance to crit

Your post was near the top of "Recent Discussions" when I found it just now. Also near the top of "Bugs and Known Issues" section of the forum.

I'm not sure what you mean by "true immunity." The game is software, and it does whatever the devs tell it to do.

For example, if I want to make a Bleed that bypasses Bleed immunity, I make an effect called "bleedx" which of course no one is immune to, call it "Bleed" in the game, and bingo, a bleed that bypasses bleed immunity. Stuff like that happens all the time in games like this. For every rule, there is a way to work around the rule. I don't know how "AAR that bypasses AAR immunity" is actually implemented in the game, like for Blade, but it doesn't say anything about how immunity to AAR itself is implemented. The programmer (or mechanics designer as the case may be) basically has the final say.

Saw the post and saved the screenshot from support.

But you were told by support that Corvus has a 200% chance to crit and Ghost has a 100% chance to crit. I don’t buy the Corvus side because in testing Corvus against the dulled node still always crits even when he is supposed to have 50%x4 reduced chance to crit.

Starburst is affected by ability accuracy, my dude. Quake can do starburst fights without losing any health.

Glancing isn't even supposed to bypass AAR immunity. Old man Logan is unaffected by glancing, but archangel is for no reason.

As far as I know, Blade can’t bypass natural glancing abilities. He might be able to bypass nodes that give glancing but not actual glancing. But the three characters that can glance (Ant-Man, CapIW, and Storm X) aren’t champions that he can activate Danger Sense against at all.

No, I mean his offensive ability accuracy isn't affected by glancing compared to AA, but he can still be glanced.

Guaranteed Crit is a mechanic in and of itself. Corvus is an example, and Maw is a counter for Guaranteed Crits. The hit itself isn't the guarantee. It's a guarantee that it will be a Crit.

Certain hits are guaranteed to be Critical with Ghost. Same with Corvus. In the case of Maw, any hits that are guaranteed to be Critical will miss. Now, just because they're guaranteed to Crit doesn't mean they're guaranteed to do Damage, and that will change based on other factors.
