(Personally I prefer taking Sentinel over G99 for general use. Not a big fan of the SP3 thing, especially since you need sacrifice SP1/SP2 utilities so that you have a SP3 to end the fight.)
This is the same reason why I dislike her too tbh. The sp3 ending isn’t necessarily good for matchups where you’re power locked, and it sacrifices a bit of her utility. I don’t prefer playing sentinel, but neither do I prefer to play her

Not a big fan of his animations and playstyle, he's a not a rank-up option at the moment (I already have Warlock as r5 and I got Ghost too), but he's a good champ. I would put g99 above him too, but I would love a 6* version of him.
Sentinel is my second favourite Tech behind Ghost. It? Is arguably the most versatile champ in the class and is still the only champion with an entire quest line designed around them. Also only needs sig 1 and that is still a luxury.
The only bad matchup that Sentinel has is Magneto, pretty much every other champ can be dealt with fairly comfortably.
Not flashy or sexy but Sentinel is the workhorse of the tech class. I’d R3 one in an instant to go with my R5.
Sentinel is underrated for sure. You never hear him negatively, only people using him when they don’t have the premier techs. He’s the next option.
I think they thought G2099 would be the next Aegon but eeeehhh not even close. I like her but she’s not on Aegon level.

I'll admit, when I pulled him at first I wasn't too happy. I used him initially for his immunities and didn't rank him because I hoped to pull Warlock or Guilly. He was just there, I never paid him much attention. And I was a fool.
I don't know what brought me to my senses and made me realise how good he actually is. But I'm glad it did, and my Sentinel is now r5 with 0 regrets. (I have still no Warlock but I have Guilly at r4). I'd love a 6*.

I used Sentinel a lot when I didn't have Warlock. Now I have a R4 5* sig 20 and R1 6* Warlock. My 5* Sentinel is sitting at R1. I don't consider him worth an awakening gem. Warlock is just the solution to the most mutants. Except Emma Frost, but I use my Medusa anyway.
There is no way Sentinel can be more effective against Mr. Sinister, and cannot deal Iceman or Havok. Prof X? Warlock can power drain by blocking.
I’m liking @xNig and @Werewrym more and more. Sentinel is easily the 3rd best Tech. He is WAY better than G99. G99 is almost completely impractical in all Engame modes of the game now that Flow Wars are over

Impractical in what sense? Even if we're not considering damage, her non-crit nature and combo meter abilities already bypasses a lot of nodes. Her lifesteal and Regen makes her one of the most sustainable and best questing champs in the game. While sentinel has to go through 2 entire special 3 for miniscule regen, I'm already in the subsequent fight with my G99 with basically 20% more health of what I finished the former in by only throwing medium attacks. Her power control is one of the best out there, makes all or nothing fights and energise fights a joke, how about sentinel? That's right, he has no power control abilities. She has a very powerful armor buff, how about sentinel? That's right, he has none.
There's many, many, many more things I could go into, but time cannot permit. When damage comes into play, well there's no need debating anymore cuz we know Guilly is the clear winner in that aspect, and every other one as well.
Seems like you haven't used G99 in act 6 either, because that's the real "endgame" at this moment.
I don't know about G2099. She is too impractical to play for me. I wish she could keep her 100 combo and transfer it from fight to fight with no cost. Aegon can do it and even better, as he can cumulatively build-up his combo.
I don't say she needs to keep her combo in the same way as Aegon, but at least be able to build it up over multiple fights. Her current mechanic rules her out for most of the playerbase and content.

Sentinel is a great champ and he do have solid utility as well but If you are comparing him with Guillotine 2099 then,you are leaving in a dream.I have seen many guys who got 2099 in their early stage and their progression level is so fast, you can't believe.She will carry you through many contents itemless and people who criticise her, I might feel they haven't used her properly. Are you not aware of finishing fight with sp3 to keep her combo? when opponent is on or under 5 percent health,use your sp3 to finish the fight and you will continue to next fight with 100 hit combo.
I know the thread will eventually fall into g99v warlock v sentinel but ...
I recently pulled g99 and took her to r4 based on the love some summoners have shown her(namely killgrey) and because I want a champ to deal with terminal velocity.
She is really stressful to play. Maintaining the combo as well as finishing with l3. I suppose I can get used to her and be better.
In shorter fights or even those of 200k health pools sentinel can get it down in less hits in ideal conditions
I think gul2099 is better compared to Aegon and Starlord
