Stepping away from suicides....

So I've been running Suicides the last year plus and finally decided to go back to the "plain jane" of masteries...

things I've noticed the most...

1. definitely less damage
2. kinda fun being able to use SP 1 and 2 without recoil
3. very cool to be able to use "all" my champs as I choose

haha....I know some of you turn them on and off...

Was wondering what your thoughts may be for some of the beginners out there getting ready to hit 60 points....

My opinion...you have to try Suicides at least once, they have hybrid versions but I went full on, it was fun and with the right champs you can really clear content. I found it to be very very synergy-centric...for example, Fury+Deadpool helps regen some bleed damage...

Enjoy all.

I turned mine off due to how many apocalypse bosses we've been seeing in war, this way I can tigra them with no fear of weakness on the sp1.

Ive recently done the same. I put them on sometimes but have really been enjoying other champs.

I’m tourn them back one fully time since I’m low key start to go more arean. No really alliance fouce map3

I only turn on suicides when I’m not in an alliance. Which hasn’t happened in years.

I don’t advocate for people using them all the time, but should be unlocked for when they are greatly beneficial.

    should I get suicides?

Unless you have like idk 10k units to spare you won't need them. Stealthy is better without them, she hulk either way but prob better without, the others better with them. But tbh If you've made it this far without them no point in getting them, use the units on content instead.

I usually run suicides once war season is over and switch back to normal when season starts

I will typically run suicides most of the time and turn them off for war placement and then back on. Arena feels way more grindy without them. But I’ve noticed with this cav EQ that most of the best counters are non suicide champs. Keeping them off to do cav EQ and then will turn them back on.

I only turn them off once a week or once every two weeks to tackle non-suicide friendly paths in Story content. This is what I did when I explored 7.1. There are some paths that demands you to switch it off, some can be bypassed but some cannot be. I have them on for my daily AQ/AW and doing Arena without them is hell. I enjoy having them off more but they really save time, and I value my time more.

EDIT: I wish Kabam revamps the mastery system. It's too outdated compared to a lot of mastery system available in other games. Switching on/off is a hassle too.

Personally, I don’t think I’ll use suicides ever unless I’m looking for high prestige or if I feel like making corvus actually useful in act 6

i've never used them .. was thinking of giving them a try at least once but i haven't run into a situation in which i couldn't clear content (faster, slower .. that's all debatable lol)

Not debatable in Arena tho, lol.

once i turned off, i feel like im not fitted into full set of despair pack mastery, so i combined suicides with despair tree.

i do really enjoy using suicides as well, since my roster mostly benefited from it. i usually put red mags, cg, guardian (spam sp3 and blast sp2, no recoil damaged tho lol), wlock and others.

oh ya, most of them got a free 5-8% since the bleed become regen with wp and the recoil damage wasn't bother me at all.

I turn them on for a week or two, mess around a bit then turn them off for months and I have a few suicide friendly champs. I wish I never spent the units to be honest.

I'd love recoil to be placed after the two branches rather than before, I'd seriously consider leaving them on all the time but some of my favorite champs need to use specials and recoil stinks.

Never used them. Unlocked recoil a long time ago, never used it, can’t even remember why I unlocked it 🤷‍♂️🤔
Aside from Abyss exploration all content is done, so don’t see a reason to unlock them.

Meanwhile, in the 'literally have only used them twice' category...

Those two times were for the Dormammu arena when 4* arenas had hit their absolute most annnoying, and for the 7.1 legends run I'm still waiting to find out I lost. It's certainly fun using them, but as a nonwhale I can't really afford to keep them on and off constantly.

I sometimes disable suicide. To get close damage comparison to full suicide build, but still want to use all champions. Then implant mastery points on offensive tree. First you give enough points for parry stun, extended stun duration and dexterity. The remaining points you dump on the offensive tree ( don’t dump them on suicide mastery. Just the normal ones) and you get something that I call “suicide mastery version 2.0, but without suicide mastery”. You would be able to critical hits and your normal damage hit would be close, well not that close obviously, to suicide mastery.

Can you share that setup ? And how much attack bonus we can get compared to sucide ?
Yeah sure. Will get to it.

With suicide mastery activated you would get around 4000-4200 attack points. My math could be off. The difference is that the damage numbers might not be high, but will activate more yellow critical hits number to somewhat compensate when not using suicide mastery. This mastery is good for me, but also dangerous as there’s no points in defense so it’s skill reliable with being good with parry, intercept and so on, but at least you get to use full potential of your champions.

@Daddrieda That actually seems like quite a fun build. However, the first points in the strength mastery might make too little difference in the grand picture to justify not getting the perfect block mastery over them. But it is indeed interesting.
