Why does Alliance Wars Feel Harder than other Content?

If u take a look at the other games mode like the story quest, eq and sq, incursion and aq, Alliance wars are generally one of the hardest (unless u r a quaker). Why is it so? Is this because of the nodes? Or is it because the AI works differently in AW?

    It’s like doing map5 for the first time and it takes two weeks or weeks before every members can get used to it.

    Mostly because of mentality. You know you can't die, you do everything to not die and it breaks your mentality even in easy match up.

    I always feel more pressure in AW then AQ because of mental problems not because of the nodes itself.

    LOL map 5 really?
    No idea why you would view it as LOL. You can’t really expect a map4 players to excel in map5 in day one?

    I feels harder bc it is do or die.

    You can't whale your way through war.

    It is the content where skill is tested the most. Also the pressure is high bc you don't want to disappoint 29 other allinace members. On top of that items costs ridiculous amout of glory so even a tiny mistake can costs you 6 lvl 4 heals which is over 1.500 glory.

    TBH Aw AI better than whole game modes. I enjoy it. It feels like real fight. Especially the parry or reparry fear. Nodes are good to play around. It takes good judgment and plan to take path and play. I just want Aw timer to be reduced to 45 min too.

    I also wanted to add that in AW, you’re going up against champs with various mastery setups. Fighting vs a story quest champ is different than fighting the same champ who has parry, assassin, willpower , despair, etc….

    Because it's meant to be; it's PvP. It's about the only content that challenges the biggest accounts, though those people seem to be getting real tired of AW by now. It's just really stale.

    Node 25 with thing is a trash fight there no reason to have footloose and power gain withno ability accuracy reduction allowed to combat it. It’s a cash grab scam. Path 8 heal block with the defender getting a massive fury is OP and unnecessary and item costs on that path are cruel for no good reason. Redoubled determination needs to be taken out of war with all the immortal ibombs taking advantage of it. It’s a cash grab and I’m glad people are waking up to the scam that is war. Kabam’s profits are tanking from all the shady **** they do to there players in war and champ nerfing .

    Node 25 thing is as easy a quake fight as it gets, heal block is a nothing node, redoubled ibom can be quaked/ghosted/warlocked depending which node

    I think Alliance Wars seem harder because of the amount of pressure it puts on you. Let's say you are on a higher tier alliance. You face the pressure to not screw up once, not lose your attack bonus, etc. Next, it's the nodes. There can be some horrible node combinations that are just too screwed up to defeat sometimes. All the accumulating pressure makes you feel that AW is harder than the rest of content.

    Honestly masteries play an underrated role in this. I’ve had several deaths lately when the opponent’s assassin mastery caused a parry to fail at low health. I’ve been running resonate, and when I use someone besides Void, it’s staggering just how much the opponent can regen.

    A buddy got hit by the back of Doom’s sp1 and because of mystic dispersion and boosted power gain effects, doom went to sp3 and killed him.

    And all of these things are hidden from you so you can’t prep before the fight, and most don’t give an indication during the fight. If Nick Fury is above 5 charges, I can see “evade failed.” I don’t get “parry failed” for assassin.

    Masteries for sure play a role. I run cable and apoc and it always sucks running into someone with full limber mastery.

    That's true, but in a certain sense it is also the opposite. In every other game mode, the players voluntarily decide to opt-in to a difficulty level. The difficulty you do in EQ is 100% voluntary. The difficulty you do in AQ is decided by the officers, but they generally decide to do maps that they know the alliance can actually do.

    Players have no choice on AW difficulty. Every time you win a war, your war rating gets higher, and you will face stronger opponents. You will keep getting harder matches until you lose. The nature of war is to try to get similar strength alliance to face each other, and when that happens there's about a 50/50 chance of winning or losing. In other words, unlike in every other game mode where the players decide to play things they are likely to beat, in alliance war the game mode compels players to run content they are just as likely to lose.

    Most of us wouldn't voluntarily play a game mode at a difficulty level where we were failing half the time, but alliance war pretty much guarantees that. As a result, Alliance War generally seems harder. It isn't the game mode itself that is harder: tier 14 war is easier than Cavalier EQ. The problem is most people pick content they can beat 90% of the time, but alliance war forces players into 50% match ups. That's always going to seem relatively harder as a result.

    A lot of it is on the pressure war puts on a player unless you're in an alliance that doesn't care about war.
    If you do, every death counts. That does put pressure on the player to make sure they don't die. And if you do survive but win, the potions that you keep using also contribute since there is a limited usage. That pressure doesn't exist anywhere in the game. You do have to clear your lanes in AQ, but you know the fights and a win or loss doesn't depend on it. And for other content, you can always quit out and restart if you want.

    Your going to face the hard defenders which arnt easy to kill and also champ that power gain crazy. Also tricky nodes. You need a counter for every champ just to clear your entire path.

    I guess it's because of how when you become a better player (skills, roster, now units available, etc), any other content stays as hard as it was before, while in aw you move up in tears until face opponents of similar level
