Add another one to the dissent column. Totally unattainable milestones for more casual players and not worth the aggravation of trying to maintain a streak where I’m not getting deathmatched within 5 rounds. Sorry, I don’t have 40 6*s. And is it even worth the trouble to go hard for a handful of units?? Gotta make this manageable for lesser players. Otherwise, the primary source of units and characters has been removed and the game becomes static for us. That’s basically the end of things for a guy like me. Sad really. Hoping they’re actually reading these responses.
After having a little more time with the arena, here are my thoughts on the new structure:
PROS: - Grandmaster shards are an improvement over the PHC shards - The 3&4* Champs are now in milestones in the 4-6* arenas - 4* and lower arena has been combined, making it cleaner and more manageable to obtain milestones
CONS: - Myself, like many other summoners, simply don't have the depth in their 6* and 5* roster to even start putting a dent in the bigger arenas (I never intend on going for top 100, just cant dedicate that kind of time to a grind even if I had the roster) - The grind for units has exponentially gone up in time, making the grind much longer - With small rosters, deathmatches cause me to lose my streak so I am in the habit of throwing my 10th round, I will bring one stronger character, and two weak ones, intentionally winning one to throw the round and start over. This is the only way I can manage to barely hit the minimum rank rewards
Potential Suggestions: 1. Lower the milestones and/or increase the units per milestone 2. Maybe make it so the 4* and lower arena has 70% of the earnable units, most of which are in the lower portion of the milestones, this allows casual summoners to grind for units, and the hardcore to push for rank rewards (similar to how you put most of the gold in the first few milestones instead of evenly spread-out) 3. maybe eliminate the Thanos teams from having 6* r5 teams when I'm using 2 6* r1 and a 4* r1 on streak 5 4. Introduce a toggle system option that will allow me to earn points in both the 4-6* arenas at once, spread evenly. I.E. if I earn 60k points in one round, if the option is toggled i will instead earn 30k between the two arenas. (better chance of retaining infinite streak for those of us with slim rosters) - this will allow for the more casual players to hit milestones that aren't trying to specifically hit high with rank rewards 5. If these arenas aren't going to change, maybe consider changing the T4B and T1A arena milestones much lower, or allow us to use our champs in there and put them on a separate cooldown timer 6. Just as an added bonus, maybe remove the gold cost associated for arenas.
I disagree with your 2nd and 3rd "PRO" . Many of us simply can't reach those milestones to pick up the 3/4 star champs in the 6 star arenas, so that's definitely a CON. Combining the 4* and lower arena is also a con from that perspective. 3*s were viable arena grinding options (I personally have 90 capped 3*s which made getting the milestones and 3* champ very reasonable). 4* was harder due to increased difficulty with the 4* roster. Now, max milestones are up on that content by over 50%. How is that a pro?
After playing both rounds of arena extensively( 2.5 mill, 18mill, 22mill in the first round - 2.15 mill, 22 mill, 22mill in the second round), here are my observations. 2 sets of arenas for using 6 stars is a stretch for most players. I consider myself a median range player. I have 52 6 star champs and 72 arena usable 5 stars. I struggled to put up the scores I mentioned, especially over the weekdays. I had to use the small boosts and some 1.5x boosts to put up the scores. It was a struggle and I don't think I will repeat them again. I think many people have suggested having an objective style rewards. Have points accumulate from all the arena and give the rewards for points from the objectives. The rank rewards can be decided from the points put up in the specific arena. So, if I want only the milestone rewards, I can focus on just 1 arena and hit every milestone in the objective. But, if I want rank rewards in arenas, I will have to hit them all and score the required score.
One thing I will say is this intense grind took me back to when I started grinding in arenas. I did not know about the beginner bracket and I used to grind very heavily for 3 days with a limited roster. This was a similar experience. Of course I did not have a family back then, so I can't do that now.
This change is absolute garbage. I’ve been a loyal fan and f2p player for over 6 year and I have built myself a pretty decent account in my opinion, due to arena. I’m not the greatest player but I try to put in the time. I attempted the first Falcon arena change and got tired of losing my twelfth and thirteenth match. Got to Immortal Abomination today and it’s already started again . . . I have stuck through with this game through some incredible BS always knowing deep down that Kabam was all about money, I mean it a business at the end of the day. I just figured with they’d be a little more responsible with a cultural icon like Marvel. At least I can say thank you for finally dropping the veil and acknowledging it is the cash-grab I always believed it was.
I hoped to make it to over 100k PVP wins prior to the end of the year - but I doubt I will even be an active player by that point thanks to these changes. Nice job Kabam.
FIX THIS! You have basically told players that you couldn't care less for players who are not yet "uncollected"! You have stolen the f2p arena grind! WHY?
Evidently you wish no one to progress outside of those whom already have 6 * 16/22 million really ? Really sad folks as milestones continue to be out of reach except for those who are already there.

I would mainly do this to get the units for energy but now I won't get as much and have to grind for them. I quit grinding arena 2 years ago since it is just a whales game but I would at least get around 100 units every week just from doing that but now I get half of that. Just revert the arenas back to what they were because this sucks.
No more deathmatches is great but the new structure is massively unfair. I used to put up 15 mil to get 2k 5* shards and 200 6*shards, I put up 16.5mil in the Falcon arena and got 1k 5* shards and 250 6* shards. I only have time to do about 15mil so I feel like I've been cheated. Arena is no longer worth the time and effort.

I used to run 26 or 27 rounds with my 5* champs without losing my multiplier streak...I lost on my sixth round. It could've been a fluke but I've never had this tough of a round on my sixth one. I'm not sure what to think. After years of loving arena that sure left a bad taste in my mouth, nothing enjoyable at all about this new system. I'm done with arena and if kabam applies these kinds of "QOL" changes to AQ, I'll be done with that as well (I've disliked AW since seasons started). I don't have any great answers, not sure if it was intentional or not, but you guys couldn't have gotten this more wrong (twice?) if you tried. I'm not angry or fuming, just very disappointed. I know 'free' units are probably perceived as a problem, but you can't stuff the genie back in the bottle. It's not like people are gonna change their spending habits easily; they'll just switch games.
If the server strain is an issue, making the peak bc/unit grind shorter would help.

I’ve been waiting for a 6* arena. Made milestones but not worth the time. Less units less BC’s and 18 million was in 11-30% range for 250 shards. Another part of the game to ignore.

I have been hesitant in putting in a feedback due to lack of knowledge/exp with the new setup, with that said we are on the 3 series of this and I’ll start with I have been an arena grinder since I can remember. I am one of who knows how many with a deep enough roster to where unit grinding didn’t change too much for me (110 6*s and 187 5*s) majority of that came from grinding previous iterations of arena. I did take a small step back when ghost was introduced to the game where I ranked 157 and missed out on the champ it was then I realize I couldn’t compete. Fast forward to top 300 where I was easily able to acquire every new 5* champ introduce to the game and any 5* I may be missing or just unit grind to clear content. Now we have this latest iteration where I ran a test see how much I can put up on one arena and see where I landed. That was rank 136 with 116m this felt like the top 150 all over again. I can’t prove any one is cheating (booting or using a 24/7 merc service) but missing out feels terrible. How much time does it take to collect data to see it is taking longer to hit milestones making it worst for f2p. The issue with the current arena should be address fast, should hav already been address imo. Top 100 is ridiculous that needs to go up how much who knows but 100 is straight grayish. The milestone situation for lower develop roster needs change as well. How is it that a multi million company that can place technology in place to stop cheating in legends run in story quest not place those same measure in every aspect of the game and make it as fair as possible across the board is straight up ridiculous. Anyways that’s my rant.
I have had some more time to reflect the arena changes ... this I'd the worst change KABAM has made since I started playing. I have done averages and this new arena takes me around 40% more time to hit the targets I used to. I guess what you said about game and life balance doesn't matter. Imo MROC is done with Marvel Future Revolutions coming out soon ... you are seriously risking people like myself who play MCOC leaving too.
The rewards are TERRIBLE! I repeat. I will only do t1a and t4b arenas as those have not changed (thankfully). Very disappointed Kabam. It is obvious what your decision is. Your silence speaks volumes. Extremely disappointed and dissatisfied.
Ok so knowing I cbf grinding much anymore, I’d actually started buying the unit subscription quite regularly, the game is worth playing and paying a bit for if I know I can just grind again and go f2p again if I get motivated to spend that much time in the game (5y vet 75k pvp fights) with this change kills the option of the f2p model many vets sometimes play, no chance I’m gonna keep subscribing to a game I think is fundamentally now broken, if there isn’t a viable f2p model the game won’t get the same retention rate of new players, those arenas are such a joke new players will never form the habit of doing them and then the game will get old Quickly (must be such a hard game to join these days as it is, imagine trying to compete after a month or two of playing and having to quickly learn the specials and defensive abilities of this many champs from the get go) This is 12.0 level failure. Honestly seems like a good time to walk away, games been laggy and horrible to play for months as it is

This new arena structure is in dire need of an auto help request to faster reach the next batch of max ranked collection.
Auto help would be a new mechanic they would have to work on when they already have failed to address the existing problems with the help system. I have to ask for help with some of my champs up to 4 or 5 times because they keep reappearing after I have already asked for help with them. Sometimes they don't appear to ask for help on for quite a while after using them. Just so many problems Kabam as usual refuses to address.
