Not only are the new milestones ridiculous, players who do not like story and do not have the UC title are being punished for no reason by taking away their ability to compete for specific champions they may want and only offering them a 4 star nexus crystal. I have several profiles, my main is UC, my others are not. I do not enjoy story mode. On my alt profiles the thing I enjoyed most was winning specific champions in 4 -star basic arena because RNG and crystal drop rates are so horribly bad. Terrible terrible move, and totally unfair to non UC players. Stop basing progression around story mode. It makes no sense. It is only 1 no mode and is in no way a measure of progression, ability, or accomplishments. Increase the level 60 summoner level cap, and make progression based on experience gained in ALL MODES combined. So in summary, way more grinding for your top tier players and less incentive to play for lower tier players. I couldn't dream up a better formula for killing the player community's morale if I tried.
Make a 6 star arena for UC players only (if you must exclude and punish collected player) where you can only use 6 star and keep the ridiculous milestones, for the whales. Make a 5 star featured arena where you can only use 5 star with slightly less ridiculous milestones. Bring back 3 and 4 star basic arena for collected players. You guys have GIVEN me 5 star crystals as an incentive for coming back on some of my profiles before (and the champion in it was trash), but then take away my ability to grind for even a 4 star? Makes no sense.
I hate playing arenas, they are so boring and time demanding I only do them when I need units to clear content, if there would be a better way to get units or resources I would never play them ever again.
For me this is a massive kick in the guts. Units are an important resource to advance in this game and for players like me that don't have big 5* or 6* rosters, I relied on completing 4* star basic arenas for the majority of my units. I don't have time or ability to grind for 16.5million to get a decent amount of units. This just seems like a blatant grab for cash.
Alternatively change the resource that potions are used to purchase in the store to something more widely avaiable. Gold perhaps. I never liked grinding in arenas anyway.
Are they actually going to fix it? It’s upsetting considering that they want the game to be fair yet they allow all the other high end players use that time to grind arena and complete content but now it is harder for the rest. How is that fair?

Suggestion Enable pre-uncollected to grind more than 42 units (300,000 grind) Enable pre-uncollected to grind for arena champions. Now we can only grind for nexus crystals. Enable pre-uncollected to get some 5*shards in arena
This new Arena system is not good for casual players and players with an average roster, i have 133 6 stars and 28 rank 2 and for me area is more of a drag so i can imagine for those with 20-30 6 stars etc , I'm not sure what was Kabam thought process when they push the milestones the way they did and make it very taxing for the average unit grinders a chance. not everyone play arena to get the champ most players i believe only did arena for battle chips and some shards with units, i think Kabam should put arena back until they can come up with something better for all players not just for those with a stack roster.
This suggestion is probably too late and potentially not viable. However, I think the arenas should be tiered similar to incursions based on number of champs of certain rarity.
3 Tiers, once you meet the next higher requirement, you can no longer access the lesser arenas. Based on the old system, on average we gained ~4 units/round. The top milestone suggested is based on that ratio
1. 4* or Summoner Trials - similar to now but access is based on less than certain number of 5* champs, milestones based on 4* champs (1* - 4* useable), total units increased to 265 (sum of 2*, 3* & 4* of previous arena system) and rank rewards similar to current Summoner Trials with addition of 5* shards. Preferably would add 3* of featured champ in milestones - Top milestone - 2,700,000; 4.5k per 4* champ or 40.5k per round with 3x multiplier
2. 2 5* Arenas (1 featured, 1 basic) - Access based on minimum number of 5* champs (no longer access summoner trials), milestones tailored to using 5* champs (4* still useable), 540 total units (current max), 3* & 4* in milestones, rank rewards of 5* champs and shards & 6* shards - Top milestone for each arena - 7,000,000; 11.5k per 5* champ or 103.5k per round with 3x multiplier - 45 5* champs needed for all milestones in both arenas (9 runs over 3 days), so min could be 35-40

16.5M for one is too much and I am a milestone grinder. I will not be able to grind for 33M. Just can’t. As an FTP, guess my hopes for July 4th are in the trash
I'm Curious: Prior to these Changes, how many Milestones across all of the Arenas did you used to complete? If you don't remember that, do you remember how many Units approx you'd earn from Milestones per Arena run?
Our goal is to keep the effort roughly the same, but of course, with reducing the number of Arenas, that's going to be difficult. With the change of the rarities allowed in each Arena, the points are definitely going to be different, but we want to keep the effort roughly the same.
If that's not the case, we want to know! We won't know that on the first day or possibly even the first run, but please keep the feedback coming.
So i just used up all of my most upgraded 5* and 6* champs to to gain one milestone and be rewarded 10 units. Now i have a minimum 6.5hr wait before i can do this again.
I am not going to be reach the higher milestones to earn the higher amount of units which would balance out the lower unit amounts of the lower milestones.
If you were aiming for fair kabam..... You have completely missed the mark.
This arena structure change is salt in the wound for regular arena grinders. Players will always put up high scores for champs and that's definitely a good thing, but grinding for milestones has been made so much more painful. Getting 135 units in basic 4* and 135 in featured 4* arenas were so much less soul crushing but now to get the same amount of units the grind time is significantly more.
How was this logic of getting same resources for more effort put in the game?
The additional rewards like GMC shards and a chance at a 6* is a welcome change, but making an already soul crushing part of the game even more time consuming is definitely a tone deaf decision.
Please fix this already. There are solutions that don’t require weeks of redevelopment, such as recalibrating the rewards to be equal to the same amount of grind as pre-launch. We are losing precious time to bank units for July 4th. These changes and solution delays are not user friendly whatsoever.
I'm almost ready to quit the game because of the arena changes. I'm not a huge arena grinder, but I was generally able to get about 1000 units a week from arenas and battle chips and now I'm getting half that.
I was running the featured arena this morning (nowhere near getting the higher milestone or ranked rewards) but I wanted to at least get the 4 star featured for testing purposes (which I did). My higher 5 stars and all of my six stars were recharging so I started using rank 2 level 35 five stars to hit the 9 million milestone and I was making progress when out of nowhere, I got hit with this match up. I double checked to make sure I didn't make a mistake and place a rank 1 level 25 by accident and I didn't. It was not a major loss when my win streak ended because I only had about 70k left to hit the next milestone to get the 4 star Mr. Negative and that was easy enough to recover from. I'm shocked and honestly surprised that I beat the rank 3 level 45 six star silver surfer with a rank 2 level 35 X-23. I also had some boosts active as a fail safe just in case I messed up.
Everyone know what the best part about this new arena is? The materials for r4 6* are going into the game which means once people are able to r4 6* champs the amount of champs usuable to do these new terrible arenas has become massively less.
I'm willing to bet that with r4 6* you won't be able to use 4* champs at all. And nothing lower than r4 5* champs which will completely box out the midtier players and forever hinder their growth in the game. It really feels like this new arena is moving in a way that the infinity streak will be unobtainable except for the top 2% players in the game.

With this new structure, I only play arena once for the alliance events.
