But if you have the units to spend on gifting, what difference does it make whether you spend it on day one of gifting vs day 3? As long as you qualify for the alliance contributions and rewards. From experience, there will always be folks willing and able to gift/trade come the last day of gifting, so other than how the normal overlap of war and aq sessions happen, what real impact will this actually have on gifting? Sorry, I guess I just have yet to see a compelling argument on the real negative impact this will actually cause for the gifting event…
The real issue is kabam have known for months how the aw cycle was going and then they decided to make the start of the gifting time period start 2 days before the aw series was due to end, really it’s ppp from kabam in the first place.
Yeah this is the big question in my opinion. Why even make it so there's an overlap between when people switch alliances between AW seasons (which happens every season proven by the flood of recruitments posts on the forums each time) and when you need to be in an alliance for gifting. Kabma Miike putting this clearly in the statement: "To have an uninterrupted Gifting experience, you should be in an Alliance that you intend to stay in before December 6th.", knowing that it won't be possible because of the AW cycle just seems like huge oversight, or they're just fine with a lot of summoners not being able to have an interrupted gifting experience?
Because AW is on a set schedule. You have to be in an alliance for 14 days before gifting. If you join 2 days before gifting starts, you just have 2 days of gifting. if you join 12 days before the event, you'll just have 2 less days. They aren't going to change AWs schedule for a gifting event.
Be mad at the people that caused Kabam to go to these lengths and restrictions just to have a gifting event. It's the pathetic cheaters and exploiters that got us here
Then why not just push the gifting even from Dec 20-Jan 3 to Dec22-Jan 5? That was in their complete control, and starting an event on a Wednesday is just their normal content release day anyways. Doing that would have removed the overlap and obvious issue of summoners not being able to move after AW cycle.
I'm sure they didn't think the community would lose their collective minds and not understand how the gifting event works and make numerous posts about the event timeline. I bet they regret thinking that ever.
It's mostly just a completely unavoidable inconvenience for a lot of summoners. Why structure one of the most hyped events of the year so that a large amount of summoners won't be able to constructively participate for 2-3 days (meaning put points towards alliance rewards)? In the end everyone will be able to gift and participate, but it's just dumb that everyone can't have an "UNINTERRUPTED GIFTING EXPERIENCE" like how Kabam Miike posted in their own official response to the event.
DO THIS TO NOT HAVE AN UNINTERRUPTED EXPERIENCE, BUT WE'VE MADE IT SO THAT A LOT OF YOU WILL DEFINITELY HAVE AN INTERRUPTED EXPERIENCE!!!!! HAPPY GIFTING!!!!!!
I'm sure they didn't think the community would lose their collective minds and not understand how the gifting event works and make numerous posts about the event timeline. I bet they regret thinking that ever.
Then that's disappointing because they should really know their community better. I did the lead time math the minute they set the 14 days requirement based on when AW was scheduled to end and right away thought "well that's going to suck for a lot of people"
If you want a totally uninterrupted Gifting experience, you could always stay in one Alliance.
In my personal situation I took a break from AW and AQ for a bit where my alliance is heavily focused on both, but with the intention of coming back to participate in the gifting event and then jumping back into normal AQ and AW after the much needed sanity break. So now when gifting starts and I’m BACK in the alliance I always planned to be in I’ll just sit in the corner and watch all my friends open their gifts lol
Also I’ve always heard your posts are always Kabam positive without fault. I’m glad the legends were true
Like i said before.. I cant wait for the posts of people accusing other players for "scamming" GGC, or being kicked out of an alliance after gifting and missing out on the milestone and rank rewards.. U guys put wayy too much faith on gifting 🤣🤣

My response has nothing to do with being Kabam positive. Personally I'm a proponent of staying in an Alliance in general. That doesn't mean I don't understand when things don't work out, or people feel it's time to move on, or other circumstances. That I get. In general, when we're talking about dummy Allies for Wars or amalgamating just to maximize specific Rewards, I feel that's more elective than necessity. Can people do it? Sure. Is it productive? It's really counterintuitive to the purpose of an Alliance in my opinion. So no, it has little to do with Kabam. That's the point. In-house goals and personal changes aren't necessarily the responsibility of Kabam.

I’m in an alliance by myself right now, lol. That’s as much company as I can tolerate.

So you really think it should be more on summoners to make long term decision on their alliance choices vs Kabam scheduling their events so they line up optimally for summoners?

Define optimally. Also, in a sense, yes. It's our choices. They let us know in advance the grace period. It's really up to us to act based on our own best interest. If people are leaving that much after War Seasons, that's not a Kabam issue. That's a membership stability issue.
I don’t have the time to read all the comments so I apologize if someone already said this, but you definitely are misunderstanding the gifting requirement. You have to be in the alliance for 14 days before your points count. That means you can join an alliance the day before the event starts and then participate (and get alliance rewards) on the last day of the event. You don’t have to join 14 days before the event, you can only participate 14 days after you’ve joined an alliance. There’s a difference.
I love how that’s just as vague as the initial announcement lol
Rewards are staggered out. Soon could very well mean tonight people will start getting them, but that's why they don't give you a t-minus so on so that people won't be "my friend got this rewards but I didn't yet and it's been x amount of time"

Yes. By now I don't mean literally this second. Now in the general sense. Either way it's underway.
