I could’ve gone with Doom or any of the other popular options, but this Ghostbusters baddie has really grown on me. I’ve got two generic AGs on hand (and I’m nearly capped on tech sig stones because I’ve never used even one), but I’m going to hold onto them until I take a few cracks at his feature next month.
Anyway, appreciation time:
Nimrod is a monster across the board. With his Titan protocol he laughs off endgame Sp3s like they’re nothing. With Blitz, his sp2 shocks rip through almost every opponent like tissue paper.
The opponent has excess power gain? Bait out a few specials in Blitz Protocol and watch them wholly unable to gain power against the stacks of power drain.
He counters almost every annoying mutant in the game easily (Bishop being the only partial exception). But have you ever heard of Magneto? Domino? Kitty? Nimrod chow.
He’s a utility machine and has the burst damage to be a joy to play. I can’t wait to wake this guy up, it is taking an immense amount of self control not to just pop a gem into him. Anyways, great job on this absolute chonker of a champion, Kabam. Very happy to have him as the crown jewel of my roster.

I want one baymax too.
My alliance mates politely bullied me into this.
And awakened and sigged up:
Now, WS is not an ideal matchup. AI is passive so it’s hard to build armor buffs on parry, and he doesn’t trigger any regeneration or prowess. These factors make him spend far less time in his best damage phase.
I’m also not certain that I have the best rotation for him. In those screenshots, I’m using a mix of sp1 and sp2, so the length of the fight is a better indicator than the number of hits. I only use the sp1 in Eradicator Protocol, which applies a 45% energize buff to himself and a thiccc energy vulnerability on the opponent (scales with sig). These last for 25 seconds, plus a percentage based on sig. These effects make it possible to build power quickly enough to fire off two sp2s while the vulnerability is in place for extreme damage. Talking like 6k per tick on each of the sp2 shocks without running liquid courage and double edge.
If you are going to be using that mix of specials, you definitely do not want to be running the recoil tree. You’ll be spamming specials and eat through your health pool. If you only want to sp2 spam, then that mastery setup is more viable because you’ll be closing out most endgame fights in one or two specials, and you can always close out with an Eradicator Protocol sp3, which deals additional burst damage based on missing opponent health and heals you for up to 12.5% of missing health.
Absolutely clowning on Wolverine. This is a prime example of Nimrod in his element. I actually played this fight incorrectly and could have ramped up much faster. I fire off my first special at 26 hits. After that Wolverine’s health bar just goes into free fall and the remainder of the fight takes about 30 seconds.
Congrats on the rank up by the way, Nimrod seems like a hell of a champ. I'm always glad when people don't rank the Dooms and Hercs of the contest!
Let us know if you figure out a way to get some gameplay vids up.

For right now I just use it because it’s fun to see the bigger numbers with energy vulnerability up.
