Would you R3 someone you have at R5?

Just a few months ago, I finally pulled a 5* Red Magneto, and immediately took him to R5.

Today I just snagged a 6* version, and I have a Mutant T5CC I can use. I also have Colossus (unawakened) that I’ve been considering for a rank up too.

This would be my first Mutant R3, so I want to maximize its value. Thoughts? Thanks!

Yes, if it's a decent champ. I finally got a 5* torch, immediately took him r5. 2 weeks later got the 6* have since duped the 6* twice, and oh yeah, took him to r3 immediately as well.

5* hasn't been duped yet. But not going to waste a ag on someone, that for all practical purposes doesn't need it.

Yes, my first 6* R3 was Void who I had at 5* R5.

If they are are a good champion that you like to play then rank them up. A 6* is more effective than a 5*

Yes. For me, I have CGR, Torch, Peni and Warlock at R3 and R5. No regrets.

Mags takes care of a huge chunk of the champs in the game. Rank 3 all the way.

Absolutely. I have a 5r5 Apoc and a few weeks after taking him to r5 I pulled the 6*. Took him to r3 and I have no regrets. Gonna do the same for CGR.

Yes absolutely I would. The adrenaline mechanic alone is a huge incentive to do it. 6* champs are much better then 5*

I would too. I pulled a 5* CG, r5 him, and two days later got a 6*. I r3 him at the next level up event. I'd do the same with most champs that I like.

    Thanks all!

I just had some hesitation since it’s my first mutant R3, and that Mag’s damage already does a ton at 5r5.

Here i am with no 5 or 6 * Red Mags.

I am working towards a 6r3 CGR that I pulled (and duped) less than a month after maxing the unduped 5*

    Some champs are worth it.

As per your question, definitely. Never hurts to have a strong backup option when one of them is unavailable elsewhere.

As for me, I have these 2 for a example:

I would definitely do it. If you have other champs to rank before him and are low on iso and or gold, I would hold off and rank those other champs though.

A r2 magneto already gets like a 7% dmg increase from the 5 star. On top of this he also gets the extra attack from act 7.

Other than act 7, there's no need to worry about dmg, except abyss. For now, even at r2, he is able to solo almost every general metal fight in act 7 with one sp3. Once act 7.4 comes he may not be able to solo champs with 1 sp3 though, so by then I think having a r3 mags would be a huge advantage.

If you only have him to rank rn it's a no-brainer. He's arguably the top mutant champion. But if you have other options who may benefit more from r3, he is fine at r2 for now.

Also, having 2 of the same top champ now is actually a good thing. If one champ is a boss killer in act 7, you can pick that chanp twice at the end of path champion selector instead of just once. I've done this multiple times with my 5* and 6* mags.

In terms of just purely mags vs collosus, definitely do mags. For act 7, it'll give you a LOT more value to take mags to r3 instead of an unawakened collosus.

My previous comment was more generalized.

I would not for magneto specifically since his big heavy hitter attack when fully charged is good enough from that 5* it won’t be an account changer to have the same champ at R3. Some other champs, probably, just depends on who.

Well I R3 my Dr doom, prof x, cmm, and red mags.

Other than those I prefer to R3 champs I don't have as 5 star

I wouldn't because i feel like he is already too good at r2 and doesnt need r3 but thats just my opinion

    Absolutely... Champs I have both at 6-Star R3 & 5-Star R5:

    Dr Doom
    Silver Surfer
    Thing
    Guillotine2099
    Cosmic Ghost Rider
    Warlock
    Void
    Apocalypse

I don't R5 many champs now-a-days but if they are a solid champ I already have at R5 and I like and/or use them, they will get R3'd but I may hold off on some R3s to diversify so I have other alternatives in that class ranked up. I have NOT done the opposite though, have a R3 first and then do a R5.

I think this was the kind of info I was looking for. Thanks for your insight!

I would like to know at r3 rmags unduped, does his heavies hit as hard as a max sig 5r5. Anyone know? That extra damage on heavies is nice. If not, what sig are they close?

Yes, especially in Magneto's case, as 70-ish champs are now a breeze to fight
