1. Super jealous. I only pulled her as a 5* recently and I always thought she looked fun. Would love the 6*.
2. She used to be quite a banger and now might just be a bit downgraded because of new introductions that are arguably better at respective uses. She is still useful and can have great damage, but Cosmic is a stacked class.
3. She really benefits greatly from the dupe. High sig is not as important as some, but the fury buffs (like +15% base attack per fury) are definitely useful, as is the autoblock. That makes an unduped 6* less amazing because it is so hard to get the dupe, but it is the first step.
I have a 6 star rank 3 awakened. She’s really fun, high damage, shuts down robots, and has the auto block safety net. She is one of my favorite characters to use.
I just pulled a 6* Medusa. I know she used to be considered a top champ but not sure how she plays now. Thoughts?
I took mine to r3 after she was awakened. I find her a lot of fun to use, and she's a good counter for robots, any champ that needs to have armor, and nodes that require you to have buffs or furies. Also Incursions has good hacks that benefit her. She's of course poison immune as well.
Not saying she's better than some other cosmics. But she slaps.
I think she's def useful and worthy of ranking up. Esp. with some of these anti-Mutant robots (Nimrod now, Omega Sentinel soon), Medusa's value goes up a bit. Plus she can cover other situations: poison, the need to armor break (e.g., KM), etc.
She's still fantastic. She really does sort of rely on her awakened ability to reach the heights and peak of her reputation. Hopefully you'll be able to dupe her soon!
Very jealous! My first 5* was Medusa and she has been a regular part of my team. I would love to have her as a 6*. Besides Knull, she's one of the few cosmics with no buffs (if unawakened).
Not to be incredibly biased (I am), but she is still fantastic in 2022. She’s been one of my main stays for like four years and is my favorite champ in the whole game, I’ll use her for anything. I have an r5 s200 and an r3 s200. Most recently, she was my most used champion during 7.1 exploration. Let me highlight some of the things that I love about her:
1) the way she shuts down robots. Simple, very quick to access, and very thorough shutdown. All you need to do is around two combos and an sp1. Often you can do this before the opponent even gets the chance to throw their first special, and then once they’re shattered they’re helpless. They can’t gain power so you can be very aggressive in the corner. If a Robot has an armor break (but not shatter) immunity node, you can still build up to the sp3 and Shatter them this way. It’ll take a little bit longer but it still works.
2) She’s very simple to learn and to use. A lot of champions have more complex rotations or things you need to keep track of, but she doesn’t have too much going on at once so you can focus more on the opponent.
3) Awakened, she has great, easy access damage. The furies cycle all by themselves so you don’t need to do much to keep them up. They don’t have too much downtime either. Slap on the Black Bolt synergy for extra fury fun.
4) Awakened and high sig, she’s very safe to play. A lot of people say that she only needs high sig for defense, but the amount of time that her auto block has saved my bacon is frequent and plentiful. At Max it’s guaranteed to activate and this is great, especially if you’re like me and mess up a lot.
5) She doesn’t need to be awakened for most of her utility (armor breaks, shatter, Robo shut down)
6) Easy and reliable access to armor break. There are a lot of champions that can armor break in various ways, and sometimes you need certain ways more than others (say, on Parry like Corvus. But sometimes you can’t block or can’t parry so this isn’t a good method). Medusa has a 100% chance to break on her Medium attacks which is a very handy piece of utility. Take Vigorous Assault + Arc Overload for example. The opponent starts off Unblockable and this is a pain. If you’re using someone who has either Armor Break on their specials, just a % chance on hits, or on block, you’re in for a sketchier start as you hope to proc a break. With Medusa, bam get in that one first hit and you’re good. Few hits later and you can shatter them for the rest of the fight.
7) She slaps in pretty much all of the Cavalier event quest nodes, even the tag based one. The only one she needs a lil assistance with for a smoother time is the per-unique buff one (you don’t have to, but an Odin prefight here works great). I’ll hit for like 20-28k on basics crits with these.
8) She’s a great option for the Unstoppable Armor defense tactic as Armor Shatter will prevent new armors and therefore annoying unstoppable effects.
9) As she has two components to her damage, the furies and the armor shatter, if you are missing access to one or the other, she can still do pretty decent damage. (If you can’t use either obvs then that’s a use someone else time)
10) poison immune, always useful. Great Caustic Temper option

still a great robot counter if you dont have either of the 2 mags, and her bleed stacks on sp2 is still pretty nice. not a a top 5 cosmic yet useable personally

I think she’s well worth a rank up if you have her awakened. I’d hold off if she’s still un-duped.
2. She used to be quite a banger and now might just be a bit downgraded because of new introductions that are arguably better at respective uses. She is still useful and can have great damage, but Cosmic is a stacked class.

I’m 100% happy with the stuff we get from those 3 modes.
That said. She is extremely helpful in AQ map 5 and below, I don’t play higher so I can’t say much about that.
EQ- she is ok. Probably amazing is you always bring black bolt or whoever it is for the extra fury.
SQ- she’s almost always on my team
Outside of cav EQ, I would say she’s worth the rank up even unduped. Can still armor shatter unduped!
