Why is his abdomen attachable? I mean we aren't supposed to put something inside him, are we?
Not attachable, I'm fairly sure that is where you can flex his hips so he can sit down. There is a bar between his abs and his obliques that facilitates it. Old fashioned, but not quite that weird.
Edit: it also appears that you can flex his legs, but I think they made this for him to lean over or something? Pretty sure that is still some form of hinge.
