Unfortunately, if they don't do anything meaningful about it, this means that 99% ish of the player base not only won't try to compete, but literally will not play this game mode.
Energy, for all but true end game who 100% cav EQ in days of release, is too valuable a resource and if the meaningful rewards are gated behind p2w or modding, people will switch off.
At least in arenas, most people don't go for the rank rewards, we are just doing it for units and time filling. There's something there even for casual players and it is not at the expense of resources for another game mode.
For battlegrounds, it's only rank rewards that are worth it at the expense of energy, but not if the perception is that they are out of reach due to cheating.
I have no doubt Kabam managed to catch and ban all the cheaters they have found. Its all the others they cannot detect that logically cannot score that highly. Yes, they might be able to get the odd win against a top 1000 player, but to win that consistently to stay there falls into the land of fantasy. And those caught cheating should be perma-banned, no ifs not buts. Banned for life.
And everyone who faced those 29 players should get 15 energy back for every time they faced them. It’s not the player bases fault Kabam can’t detect cheaters real time. Game mode is overpriced to play as it is, without wasting resources on cheaters.

I agree that there should be very strict consequences for modding/cheating in competitive modes where fight results determine ranks/rewards. We have to be able to trust in the integrity of the game mode if people are going to invest resources in it. Right now without more transparency/action from Kabam.....I don't see how that's possible with BGs being scheduled to be a final game mode in Aug.
If you believe that Kabam could only catch/ban 29 cheaters out of the top 1000 with their current anti-cheat detection methods then Kabam has a very serious problem that they need to address.
So according to video “commentator” (at least on this video), you have to be 2 million + rated player in order to be good. Even if you have 6* r4 and r3 champs. ??
And apparently even though Kabam has said rewards are not final yet, this is “proof” of how only xx amount have been excluded. (how do you know what the final number will end up being if they have not finished final rewards adjustments yet ?
Anyways, for those people modd'ing, they wouldn’t need account with 6* r3 and r4 champs if using a Mod tool. (they could brand new account do it with 4* r1 champs).
People no longer need to have 2 million rated accounts (to pass KT1 threshold for cheating) because there's no need to touch any of your initial 2*, 3*, 4* (and majority of 5*) champs when you are a new player anymore. Rushing content with a limited pool of ranked higher champs allows new people to accumulate good 5* and 6* champs not that end up being the only ones you care to rankup (so can have highest champs, with fairly low rating nowadays).
Two million account rating is a good measure to eyeball an account to see if they were potentially cheating. We can only see top 100 on the leader boards. To get in top 100, you need to field a very good deck of at least R3 6*. Taking a look at these smaller accounts, you'll see many of them still have 5* in their profile. I don't care how good you care but to play in the top 100, you need to have the roster and the skills.
A great player fielding R5 5* and a few R3 6* will not consistently beat a good player with a great roster.
I think the issue is more of, to prove, beyond reasonable point of doubt, that a person is cheating. That’s the hard part.
That's why it's hard to add any kind of live-action response measure. Any actions pretty much need to be retroactive because it's important to have a process of investigation. Reports aren't enough. Anyone could report something. It would be concerning if people were penalized without due process.

This exactly. There is not way that an account whose top champs are r2 6* and r5 5* can compete in this mode, at least not for top 1000 spots. Especially with the reduced timer. There just isn't enough time and damage that can be done. Any one who doesn't understand that is sorely mistaken.
I was in the top 2300 when battlegrounds ended. I’m not sure why I didn’t get any ranked rewards. @Kabam Miike Should I open a ticket?
Have you checked the trophy icon on the home page? Your ranking might have dropped because the rankings aren't updated in real time. I think they are updated every hour or so
I can appreciate the difficulty in catching modders in real time and giving summoners energy costs back etc. I think that would be a fairly difficult thing to do.
But it would be nice to have perhaps a bit more transparency around the criteria invovled in banning at least the very obvious modders from the previous BG beta.
The reason I say this is because some of the obvious modders (that have fairly big accounts and finished fights in either under 5 hits and/or under 5 second) have not been banned - one from an alliance I faced in AW recently and another person who recently made the top100 for Valkyrie arena.
It would be great to have more faith in the system to see these processes working and keep the game as fair as possible for the many players who want to enjoy a lot of what the game has to offer.

Thanks for the info. It looks like I somehow got bumped over 300 spots.
