If your game isn't open when the round ends, then the game just forfeits for you. Also an easy forfeit button is just letting the enemy kill you while you go and so something else.
I've been thrown back into my second round before? So not sure what's happened there, though the game doesn't exactly load up fast so maybe that plays a part 🤷‍♂️.

The easiest way to forfeit is to add the button to do so, why is everyone so hellbent on not having one?? It can't be manipulated, you hit it you lose simple as that. Also instantly ends the match for your opponent.... It's almost like you're all just disagreeing for the sake of disagreeing 😂😂.

I get the fury example but for any other defender I don’t get it. Someone who has a flawless fight that they get defender down to 1% health while still being at 100% attacker health would not care about pausing. They will probably finish the fight off and get the time bonus on top of it. So technically you are right that max with fury as defender is 44999 but with that score, I think they earned the win regardless of whether they pause the fight or not.
@Graves_3 I'm not saying that in every instance that someone paused that they didn't earn a win. You still did whatever damage you did fairly. However, it can still be a means to preserve health that there is no way you could have otherwise with out the Pause button. Any champion that has some kind of ramp up mechanic or healing can be more dangerous towards the end of the fight and it may not be worth it point wise to keep fighting.

Examples: iBom activating Toxic Aura, Havok getting to 11 Plasma Things, Mojo getting his prompts done, Gorr's Regen, Sassy's Regen, Galan's Harvest, Quicksilver has a delayed damage, Ikaris' Detonation, literally anyone at an SP3

All of these are situations where you might have more points before they occur than you could ever by continuing to fight. I'm noticing it a lot more in the Root Meta because far lower scores than any other Meta are able to win matches.

With the Announcement of Power Shield as the Week 4 Meta next Season, this will continue to be an issue. There are times where it is obvious that you may have launched your last Special Attack of a fight. If you're a champ that has no other way to do damage against a node like that, there's no reason no to pause as all you could do for the remainder of the fight is lose points.

It's me. And my internet went down for a while, so I only managed to play for 8 seconds :D

simply remove the pause option. In a bg match there is no need in having one at all.

A bit late here (I've been dealing with the Big-C for a while and off the forums for a bit), but as to the pause button in battlegrounds, there's an even better way to get the same results as the pause button: just context-switch away. The game doesn't run when not in the foreground (at least fights don't). Force closing will reset the fight (if you return: if you don't, the game presumes the fight ended at that state). Context switch will (generally) not.

I understand the concerns people have about pausing during battlegrounds, but removing the button itself does nothing. It simply removes the small convenience of being allowed to view the pause screen itself, which has the pause screen stats like buff bar explanations. But it is not the only way to pause the game. You literally cannot remove all ways to pause the game on iOS, and probably Android as well, because of the nature of the multitasking on those operating systems. The players who want to exploit these tactics are not going to be deterred by the removal of the pause button even a little bit.
Just an aside, hope you're feeling better. I am still untainted, to the best of my knowledge.

We need more rules because without rules there can be no cheating and cheating is a vital part of any competitive event.

There’s a reason that the button is banned in all the tourneys, it manipulates results, and isn’t in the spirit of fair play. There should be a penalty in points for its use or having the app run in the background. Dc’s in AW/AQ cost you 50% of your remaining health so this precedent is seen elsewhere. We just need it in BGs

the disagrees must be the people who uses the pause button trick 🤔
