I feel like we’re overcomplicating this. Just make it so you can only pause for 15 seconds in a fight. That’s enough time to deal with most genuine, real-world problems that may pop up during your two minute window (like, for example, your dog jumping on you), but not so long that it could be abused in most situations.I know it’s not foolproof, there are certainly edge cases where a player could push the opponent to their sp3 with a couple seconds on the clock and then pause or something of that nature. But overall I think it’s a safe middle ground and would solve situations like OP is talking about. I agree, 15 seconds seems like a fair amount of time but put a limit on it, like 1 pause per fight (so potentially 3 pauses over 1 full match). And on said pause screen have a forfeit button that takes you out of the whole match up not just that fight. why do you so desperately need a forfeit button?whats the point of thatjust force close the game. i read up above that you didn't know if your opponent will have to wait. Believe me if you forfeit no matter the long wait your opponent will be happy so just force close the game. Because its illogical to not have one. Literally every game I have ever played has an option for forfeit the match. Can't understand why people don't want one 🤦♂️.So here's an example where forfeit would be used .... " you start a match, just as you begin your first fight you need to do something in the house, OK so you force close the app, fine I don't care about my result at this point. You tend to whatever needs tending to then you decide I'll jump back in game and do some EQ .... but it's only been 60 seconds since you force closed the app and therefore loads you back into the BGs match as youre starting your 2nd fight, now you have to ride out your second fight before you're able to do what you want in game ... because guess what? They removed the quit button 🤦♂️ If your game isn't open when the round ends, then the game just forfeits for you. Also an easy forfeit button is just letting the enemy kill you while you go and so something else.

So sandbagging isn't iq 200 but sandbagging using 2 and 3 stars of champs you know are top tier that you don't use or have so that when you ban them it actually lowered your chance of drafting 2* and 3*. That was iq 200 hahahaha. But that's not an issue now so moving on. The pause button, one in 50 fights its a problem. I'm still more concerned with modders Obviously everyone's individual experience is different but I would say that number is closer to 1 in 10. It's material significance is obviously lower than that of a modder as the pauser can really only get a max score of 44,999 which is not a guaranteed win but people are still improving their win rates significantly by using this unsportsmanlike tactic. Wait!! What? How can they get a max score of 44999? If you get 44999 that means they did not pause but played really well. If you're fighting Hercules for example and get him into his Immortality and at 1 HP while you yourself have 100%, you will have a score of 44,999 (15,000 for Attacker HP Remaining and 29,999 for Defender HP Remaining, maybe slightly less if it's a lower level). If he has an SP3 ready to go that will do more damage to your Attacker HP Remaining score that you can earn via Fight Duration, it is in your best interest to pause and wait out the clock and accept that score.Another example is fighting Nick Fury and pausing right before you trigger his healing rather than dealing with his 2nd life.Pausing doesn't mean that you did it at the very beginning of the fight, you can still pause with 10 seconds remaining to preserve your score that you otherwise don't necessarily deserve. If someone finishes a fight with less than 100 Seconds Fight Duration but neither champ got KO'ed. In all likelihood they paused. I get the fury example but for any other defender I don’t get it. Someone who has a flawless fight that they get defender down to 1% health while still being at 100% attacker health would not care about pausing. They will probably finish the fight off and get the time bonus on top of it. So technically you are right that max with fury as defender is 44999 but with that score, I think they earned the win regardless of whether they pause the fight or not.

I think you’ve missed the point of why it was brought up. If pausing is taken out or disabled you can get the same results by force quitting and reloading which will consume a significant portion of the fight clock just like pause is being used for in many instances.

A bit late here (I've been dealing with the Big-C for a while and off the forums for a bit), but as to the pause button in battlegrounds, there's an even better way to get the same results as the pause button: just context-switch away. The game doesn't run when not in the foreground (at least fights don't). Force closing will reset the fight (if you return: if you don't, the game presumes the fight ended at that state). Context switch will (generally) not.I understand the concerns people have about pausing during battlegrounds, but removing the button itself does nothing. It simply removes the small convenience of being allowed to view the pause screen itself, which has the pause screen stats like buff bar explanations. But it is not the only way to pause the game. You literally cannot remove all ways to pause the game on iOS, and probably Android as well, because of the nature of the multitasking on those operating systems. The players who want to exploit these tactics are not going to be deterred by the removal of the pause button even a little bit.
