Isn't it an addiction at this point more than anything? I don't find it normal to spend ten's of thousands of dollars like this.
No less normal than spending millions on cars you'll never drive.
Hundreds on gold leaf steaks that are mediocre tasting.
Hundreds of thousands on Pokemon cards.
Thousands on wine you'll never drink.
Thousands on imported Waygu beef.
The person is spending their money the way they want. People with money but "not normal" stuff all the time but people like us who don't have that kind of money can't.
Cars are way different with this game (at least for me). Cars don't lose their value and they could also being seen as an investment for the future. You can touch them (or just admire them?) etc, something that you can't do with the champions of this game. Same with Pokémon cards and wine.

Uhm. Cars lose their value. Tremendously. Like the second you drive it off the lot.

My mind goes to vintage cars, or to not common ones which as the guy said you won't drive at all.

I'm sorry but even the rare or vintage cars I'd still want to drive because why wouldn't you? The point of a car is to drive it and experience it. Maybe it's just me, but even if I owned a 250k Bugatti, I'd drive it every chance I got. Letting a car sit in a garage is just blasphemy.

I'm just playing with the rules he set.
But maybe you are too afraid of damaging the car? I don't know. Cars aren't the point of this conversation anyways. The thing is that you can't really compare real cars with some pixels from this game.

Eh maybe. But if you can afford the 250k car in the first place, I'm sure repairing or replacing it due to damage isn't something your worried about haha.

Cars absolutely loss value. That shiney new Bugatti you just dropped 3 million on is now like 1.5. Some cars become classics but most cars will never gain value but you can't put miles on them and they take decades to become "classic".
You can look and "touch" this game as it's what we do every day. Again, spending tons of money on a car you can't have fun with isn't normal except to people with that kind of disposable income. At least in this case, it was spent legally and helps keep a game I like playing going. I get to continue enjoying this game they dumped money into but I'll never be able to enjoy that Bugatti.

Again these are the cars I referred to as an investment. In the future you could still sell them maybe at a higher price.
But you can't sell your account in this game. Nor the champs with in it. And who knows for how long you will have access to it? Definitely not for as long as you will be able to admire your cars, driving them or not.
I still believe it isn't healthy no matter to what you compare them to. It could be seen as a worse 'investment' than NFTs. Actually it is a worse 'investment'.

Spending money on this game is not an investment. It's frivolous spending by someone who has the means to do so.
Again, for you to sell a car for more than you bought it for, the stars have to align or you've done something so great to it, someone needs it. No one is saying spending ungodly amounts of money on a digital game is healthy. Spending any amount of money on a digital game that may not be here tomorrow is also not healthy. But it's their money and they should get to enjoy it without your judgement.
People are forking out hundreds of thousands of $$$ for a trip to space.
Worth it and not really expensive, compared what the price of the entire 7 mil acc might have been , when only 1 6* R5 costs already 50k @Sw0rdMaster All this gets even more ridiculous after what I heard during the last hour, as I was listening to two concerned mcoc fans, begging kabam to listen. What they are showing up the video is simply shocking! Unbelievable how easy well informed coding nerds/ hacker/ modders can get access to the uncompiled game code.

If you don't think that spending money on this game isn't an investment then why you gave all the other examples, of things that again could be considered as an investment (or as an experience, like traveling)?
And you keep comparing pixels with things that you can actually hold in your hands, no matter what their price is in the uncertain future.

@KrueLee Just post these Videos instead. Kabam knows about these Videos because they got tagged on Twitter and Richtheman also did a video about it. Dont act like its all a big mystery and stuff. Video is online since a month.
Smart...Thats exactly what I didn't want to do, as long as it's more a tutorial and even offering links to the necessary tools. Spreading the info to more people than to Kabam itself won't help in my opinion, it only provides potential to make the situation worse by increasing the modding community @AtzeKrank I ve sent it to Kabam instead

You've missed the entire point. Like literally in front of you and you still couldn't see it.
Everything I listed were not investment purchases, they are "I have too much money so let me spend it" purchases. You don't buy A5 Waygu as an investment. You don't buy Bugettis as investments. You don't buy 100k watches as investments. You don't spend money on a mobile game as investments.
Investments are something you plan on getting something back in return plus what you invested. None of what I said guarantee that.
This is a discussion we're having. I've said nothing negative to you and because you don't have a solid argument or rebuttal, you resort to trying to belittle me and put words in my mouth.

Hahaha. These aren't investment purchases according to who? To you? Sure buddy.
You either gonna get something you will never drive just so you have the opportunity to admire it or you would wanna resell it in the future. I can't think of another reason. And if you wanna resell it, you would expect some money back. Thus the investment part. Someone with 50K in his bank isn't gonna buy a 50K car as an investment though.
After this you said 'Hundreds on gold leaf steaks that are mediocre tasting'. This is an experience as far as I understand. Playing this game isn't the same 'experience'.
Then you said 'Hundreds of thousands on Pokemon cards'. Again this could be considered an investment. You could either complete a collection which you will be able to resell later at a higher price or you are after ultra-super-mega rare cards, which their value will eventually go up (if kept in the right conditions of course).
Your last 2 points were 'Thousands on wine you'll never drink' and 'Thousands on imported Waygu beef'. Well I'm pretty sure the older the bottle of wine, the more expensive (some other factors contribute to this, but this is the main idea). As far as the beef goes, I have no clue. Actually the beef might be a thing of taste, something that you can eat. Last time I checked you can't eat pixels. I can't even understand why you even mentioned this, since beef is something you eat and not something you can keep and resell later. One of the worst arguments I have ever heard.

But it's their money and they should get to enjoy it without your judgement.
So you wanna make me apologising for expressing my opinion and my concerns? Should have expected this from you lol
Anyways, people should spend their money on what they want. End of this "discussion " for me. Kkkkkkk byyyyyyeee
With no real arguments I can see why your response is so childish. But again didn't expect anything better. People should spend their money on what they want and I have every right to comment on that. Especially if I find it worrying. That's what you don't get here buddy.

Every 'discussion' with you is a pleasure to have...
If you don't think that spending money on this game isn't an investment then why you gave all the other examples, of things that again could be considered as an investment (or as an experience, like traveling)?
And you keep comparing pixels with things that you can actually hold in your hands, no matter what their price is in the uncertain future.
Isn't it an addiction at this point more than anything? I don't find it normal to spend ten's of thousands of dollars like this.

Anyways, people should spend their money on what they want.
Isn't it an addiction at this point more than anything? I don't find it normal to spend ten's of thousands of dollars like this.

new cars immediately lose at least 10% of their value the second you drive them off the lot. my 15 year old will get the 2011 acura with 39k miles, so that's sort of an investment for the future, but really no.
I never meant this type of car as an investment. A car which you will drive daily. What gave you the impression that this was what I meant? I'm curious.
People spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on designer bags. Literally the objects that hold your money. Does it make sense to me? Not entirely. Is it my place to judge? Not in the least. It's not my money. If someone earns, even inherits, their own money....it's entirely up to them how to spend it. That's not my place to judge. I have several opinions on Elon Musk that I will refrain from expressing here. At the end of the day, it ain't my call.

Same with Pokémon cards and wine.
But maybe you are too afraid of damaging the car? I don't know. Cars aren't the point of this conversation anyways. The thing is that you can't really compare real cars with some pixels from this game.

@Sw0rdMaster
All this gets even more ridiculous after what I heard during the last hour, as I was listening to two concerned mcoc fans, begging kabam to listen. What they are showing up the video is simply shocking! Unbelievable how easy well informed coding nerds/ hacker/ modders can get access to the uncompiled game code.
Admin/Support please contact me for the link, the open doors should be closed as fast as the video should be removed from being available
