Not having Galan, Hulkling and Nimrod have seriously hindered my progress in BGs the last 2 seasons, it’s amazing. 90% of the matches I win are because the other person also doesn’t have them, then I have a chance to ban someone other than those 3. The win 2 lose 2, win 1 lose 2, win 1 lose 1 sequence makes god 0 progress with a LOT of effort sadly.
My issue is that im TB but only just got TB like a month ago ive got 3 r3 6* and 10 r5 5* and then other r4 5* and r1 6* but im going up against people with nothing but r3/r4s so its not even close to a fair fight, everytime even if i dont get hit a single time the other player is so much faster and wins anyway. Like why is it so hard to put me against someone with a relative prestige as i am. I have 11k prestige i shouldnt be getting put against 15k prestige paragon players where my highest pi champ is their lowest…
I think the game mode has some very significant issues that can’t be addressed just by making the BG store overly rewarding.
When I’m not getting disconnection issues (one out of two fights tonight, prevented my selecting final champs in draft), I run across things like this opponent…
Incredible skills in Silver 3 to pull that kind of fight off in this VT with suicides. Sure, maybe the team catches them using mods and cheating doesn’t pay, or maybe they don’t. Matters little to me, who winds up dropped back a point in a match that should have been a win.
Dr. Zola
To be fair I’ve used NF against void a lot in this meta And I usually get him down to 5%ish and then let him get me to second life before finishing off I’m getting pretty good at timing it so I’m finishing with NF at 90%ish on second life I’ve lucked into a very high 90’s If you time it well, it’s very achievable
In 22 seconds? Getting hit and/or simply blocking just 4 times total? With suis?
Dr. Zola
I dont run suicides and never have, so i cant speak to the 22sec aspect, but i've done the fight pretty quickly using this method... 40-50 seconds.
22 seconds does seem VERY quick
That’s my issue. No suis, but running my own Nick against my own Void (not the same, I know) I had my best fight done in about 30 seconds, and that was the only one of a few runs that had *perfect* AI behavior. But that’s also with no nodes either. Anyway…whatever. Water under the bridge.
As someone already susgested, I think we need to stop the consecutive wins reequirement completely. We just need to increase the number of wins needed for each bracket. For examples 5 wins for Bronze 7 wins for Silver 10 wins for Gold 20 wins for Plats So its still hard and you still have to play as much as you can to advance but you dont feel frustated everytime you lose for any stupid reason. If Kabam do this they can keep the matchmaking as of now because most of us will find a way to go up our rank.
The obvious consequence of this current meta is that people will play less and less except harcore players or players who can and are willing to spent decent amount of money to advance.
For broader player base they just stop playing. I for one only play for objective. Kabam greed just backfired them because after a short time they can not milk players anymore.
I know for sure if they just abandon consecutive wins requirement I will play more.
Not to mention, the mode is broken. Not saying I won...but I DEFINITELY didn't get annihilated by Domino with Warlock. Not worth my time and resources for many many MANY reasons.
I have no idea how Kabam would ever please such an overly whiny player base. Interesting BG meta: “It’s too restrictive!” Normal nuke meta: “It’s too difficult! A competitive game mode should be exactly that: Competitive. If I want to relax after a long day of work, I sit down and play arena.

Do you mean competitive like everyone has to compete against everyone for the same rewards? There’s a whole lot of discussion about that across the forums.

You seemed to have missed the point and have targeted just one aspect of the mode people have issues with and ignored the actual arguements for that issue and the other issues regarding BG.
Progressing should look more like how it works with Pokemon Unite. Only if you play badly will you lose ranks quicker. But if you play well and still lose you lose ranks less quickly. The way it works is like this. Each win gives you 1 token. Each loss takes 1 token. But on top of that you get points based on how well you did in your matches. So let's say, you can score 60k in 1 round, so 180k per match of 3 if playing perfectly. For each 120k-150k points you earn you get a token on top of the token you win or lose. This way, every 2 or 3 matches you gain an additional token, so you are more likely to progress because you sometimes gain enough points to gain and lose a token so you stay even. Likewise you sometimes only need 2 wins to gain a full rank if you play really well.
This will benefit players that still play well, but lose by a couple of points by having them gain tokens quickly via the point token they gain. But if you constantly lose your first 2 fights and gain low points it hardly will make a difference.
So you still need to play well to progress up, but if you happen upon a bad match outside of your own fault, you aren`t punished that much.

I like this, also because it “seems” easy to implement with the current structure set up for objectives.
Why is people trying to find the easy way to even out rewards... Its a competition... Not everythint can be solved by unit man and brute forcing milestones... Sure let me go to NASCAR with a Corolla and i won't win but if i finish the laps i get rewards...

So the answer in punishing those that aren't struggling and making them play more to finish VT?

See this is not about "Drive" or "Incentive" its about getting rewards...

Except using that analogy, the people with stronger, better, and more expensive cars don't get to finish above the people with corollas.

The title of the post says BG killing my drive.. meaning he is struggling... Your solution is making VT longer for people that are not struggling and making it achievable for people struggling... So are u agreeing with my analogy or not?...make up your mind..

bruh. he has recoil masteries. There is no way he takes so less damage. that is obviously a modder.

I think this highlights one of the issues the OP who started this thread is talking about. Players with 15K+ prestige and large accounts face that competition from day one.
Accounts like yours tend to get matched with similar-sized accounts on the way up. Eventually, you don’t have a lot of 11K accounts at your level anymore.
Why that matters is that, with smaller accounts, a little extra game knowledge or a run of great champ pulls can go a long way to putting smaller accounts ahead of similar-sized accounts. You’re obviously a very good new TB to get as far as you have.
That’s no longer the case when larger, veteran accounts face off. A bad draft, a bad connection, a parry that turns into a block is enough to tilt the fight. It doesn’t take much, everyone has R3/R4 and nearly everyone knows how to play and counter nearly every champ.
The 15K+ accounts below you in Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum aren’t there because they are terrible players. They are there because it’s tough to smash your way out of the lower tiers facing accounts with all R3/R4 champs and a lot of game knowhow in a lot of close fights.
As far as wanting a team member to say something about matchmaking, I will settle for starters for something about atrocious connection issues like these:
Can’t pick my champion, so game selects Apoc for me:
Can’t fight, so I watch the time run down:
It’s tough enough to beat solid accounts. Even harder when you can’t choose your fighter or get a chance to fight.
I also decided to take a backseat this season, newly paragon that had no problem reaching GC previous seasons but am stuck in bronze 3.... win 1 loose 2, win 2 loose 1 etc.... going nowhere slowly and it is killing it for me, frustration level at the max.... might even stop doing the objectives.... there is some great suggestions in this thread.... @Kabam Miike hope you guys hear us.... I feel like we are getting the silent treatment regarding this and also the many other bugs and issues we are having

Unfortunately this will happen all the time... In the last 2 months... CM and Banquet, new feat crystal, this romance thing.. (not as impacting but still)... There was a huge roster bump in the last couple of days...and it will keep going; but really claiming that a new Paragon can't compete.. fighting r3s against r4s is not that much different...

Fighting r3s against r4s it’s not one, but two ranks difference. One rank lower your attacker (r3) has against the opponents defender (r4), and one rank higher the opponents attacker has (r4) against your defender (r3). An r3 vs an r4 deck, at this current nuke meta it’s an instant loss.

Yeah well then u r chasing a bundle of imaginary carrots... Cause 7*s are comming and now u are going to have to fight r4s r5s and 7*s...

Messaged you in game to tell you. That stinking Annihilus stayed at 1% health while my Tigra kept pounding the block at the end!! Grrrrrr!!
