Thronebreaker event quest thoughts

I'm sure there are already many people who voiced there opinion on this but I wanted get mine out. I personally don't think the difficulty of thronebreaker difficulty is a big deal. It's definitely a nice ramp up in terms of difficulty but nothing too bad. However, I do think the paths need to be managed better. For example, one of the paths on chapter 3.2 has a domino, killmonger, mojo, and ebony maw. Them on their own is fine but in a mystic oriented node, I need specific counters for them. I think one or two of these types of defenders per path is okay, but, 4 like this one is not exactly the ideal. And, again, yes I can still use mystic champs against them but probably at the cost of using more of my resources for it. Just my thoughts.

I feel like TB was just the right amount of difficulty for the rewards it offers. Some natural ups and downs here and there...but I hope Kabam uses this as a blueprint for all TB EQ in the future.

Probably they design the Event Quest layout, path and nodes on each quest manually, but the champ placements seem to be done by a random generator to save time.
I can’t imagine someone placed Domino, Killmonger, Mojo and Ebony Maw manually on the same path and with these nodes, and thought it was a good idea for a monthly EQ.

Zemo on 3.1 path C is stupid. horrible game developer placement.

any recommendations? potions and revives needed for EOP so dont want to have to use them

There's several lanes like that but there's also several solutions to it.

    Doom for mojo and killmonger
Nimrod (or any tech) for Domino
Quicksilver, Titania, torch etc for Maw

You still have 2 slots free to bring in a boss counter plus another mystic.
TB and above shouldn't be having issues with 5b EQ. I like that it requires SOME thought and not just blind team selection.

Pretty sure I just used Herc or CGR. I usually run boosts to get the whole thing over with quickly. There's zero challenge or fun in TB eq

Tried Angela and Knull and they both didn't do well.
    CGR was suprisingly easy.

It's for the players that have the top rosters with all the exact counters to all the tough nodes.

But even then I agree that many of the defender / node combos are a d!ck move by KABAM designed to punish us and make us use items & units. And that's not just in Thronebreakaer, it seems to be what they love to do.

So I just skip TB entirely. The rewards aren't worth the grief (for me).

Of course. Counters exist—but for me they were Torch, Nimrod and Namor. Brought second Torch for insurance in case I got cheaped by Mojo/Maw.

This was a “mystic” chapter. Keep the same defenders, but give some mystic champs a methodology for countering those defenders via nodes. Or swap some of the defenders out. Or just be explicit that TB EQ will have one lane in every chapter that renders the *beneficial* nodes useless for that quest. What we have now seems to be low effort.

Well, a summoner can do all those defenders except Domino with mystics.

It's not the first time, in ch6 there are paths that favor a certain class or group, but certain matchups do need specific counters from another class.

You're speaking as if kabam is introducing something new or impossible here.

It hardly took 50 hits to kill that Domino with nimrod.

It's definitely not new to put in defenders that require counters instead of the group the nodes encourage, but that doesn't make it any less annoying. Couple that with the massive amount of bugs and input issues this month, along with a super passive ai, and this has not been a fun month at all. Is it too much to ask for to have challenging content that doesn't feel lazy, counterproductive, or sadistic and still be enjoyable?

My biggest issue with not only TEQ but event quest in general is the continued re-use of the same champs or the same champs on the same maps. I dare Kabam to not use KM in the mystic map or at all for one event quest.

I agree with most people thoughts on this. And yes, again there are counters for those specific defenders but not everyone may have those counters. The difficulty is definitely fine just the defender placement and node should be better. If the node benefits from mystics, I'm fine bringing one none mystic and one boss counter, but more than that seems a overkill.

Just because its a mystic buffed chapter doesnt mean u gotta take mystic...
Also as someone said.. it makes u think, learn, and use synergies to your advantage...
And finally.. at least they did learn from their 1st EQ.. they didnt put the 90% protection so u can use any champ u want...

This months difficulty was much better tuned than last month. Did it 100% with some revives, but I'm paragon and expected that level of challenge

I'm still not wasting my time for the rewards offered, just not worth it to me

Before TB, Cav was enjoyable. You got huge bonuses for using class nodes. A rank 1 that you never get to use could slap in a chapter. The hardest fights were always the new bosses but that’s it. It was low stress, and not a resource grab. Exactly what a temporary story quest should be.

Then TB difficulty comes along. Cav gets stripped of all the class nodes and gets a blanket boost. That difficulty had all the fun removed. It’s just a chore now. Fights seem a lot longer and you don’t get to alter your play for big bonuses.

Then we have TB with obnoxious defender placement designed to punish you for attempting to use the class nodes. Not only that, but the global nodes also usually need that class to combat it. The health pools are still absurd. Fights take a long time. 6r1s will not survive a 5 hit combo so they are out. Overall, story quest is now just another chore to endure.

This whole game has become a chore. A game where you don’t fight superhero’s. But a game where you fight bad quest design, bad node choices, bugs, input drops, severe game lag, and cheaters. Oh, and there are superhero’s somewhere in there.
