Raise your hand if you’d rather 3 paths in EQ instead of Story

Just sayin… EQ more of a repetitive time suck. Over the course of a year, when it comes to saving time, would much rather have EQ with 3 paths vs 1 or 2 chapters of Story having 3.

    One caveat… if this means we can get a FULL new Act of Story per year, then nevermind, it’s worth it. Would be dope to have a new chapter quarterly.

    While part of me is disappointed that each chapter is cut in half since I've really enjoyed exploring "full-length" chapters as they've come out ever since 7.3 or something, I think it can be worth it if those chapters are higher quality and, more importantly, come at us at a steadier pace than they currently are. It was sooooo long between 8.1 and 8.2, and if we can have chapters released quarterly, then I think it'll be a win all things considered.

    However, I wouldn't mind them changing the EQ. I don't know if the solution is to reduce the number of paths in total, but having to run the same sixth quest seven times is just boring. Running it fourteen times if you explore both TB and Cav becomes even more so. That is something I wouldn't mind them changing. Whether that change takes the form of cutting some paths altogether or if they just add some paths to the early quests and reduce them in the later ones, I don't know.

    Between the difficulty "adjustment", the terrible inputs and the crappy rewards, I never bother with EQ anymore. Occasionally I will do the cav one if I'm bored, but I refuse to waste resources on TB EQ.

    Doesn’t have to be an ‘either / or’ situation. I’d prefer both had 3 paths.

    Story Quest (Acts 7 and 8) are the best content in the game, and they are nerfing it.

    Not really sure how it's a nerf. All we know is they plan on having only 3 paths per chapter. They said fight difficulty won't change and neither will healthpools etc..

    We don't know how this will affect rewards in terms of path and chapter rewards. We won't have any of that information for a long time.

    They could put path rewards in the boss fights and what used to be on paths be split into the individual bosses, or rolled into quest completion or exploration. They could be rolled into chapter exploration or completion as well.

    We also don't know if act rewards will be less because there's less paths. So I think calling it a nerf is a little premature.

    This change makes no sense on something they already spend at least half a year planning already. Shorten EQ if your developers need more time but leave story content alone please

    Agreed, although it is evident every month that very little time is spent on EQ. Copy and paste with different bosses and a slightly different map layout.

    Even if the rewards are equivalent I’ll still be really disappointed at a massive reduction in Story Content

    But let’s be honest, once you 100% Story Quest you’ll most likely not go back. One exception is for Carina’s challenges

    It depends on their statement regarding time investment. We, the players, don't know how much time truly goes into story content, maybe it's a ton of development time. If cutting it in half means they can make sure Battlegrounds are bug free, push out more special content like Gauntlet, EOP, abyss etc, and just a whole slew of other content, I'm okay with it.

    There is the caveat of rewards. Will they be reduced to reflect this change? And will the extra time spent on other game modes be visibly noticeable to us players? Guess time will tell...

    That's true, I wouldn't go back, but that doesn't change that I love story content as it is often some of the most fun and well made content in the game and I'd prefer to have more of it

    I’ve stopped doing MEQ as it’s so repetitive, like someone said, I’d rather MEQ be reduced. I think reducing down story content to just 3 paths reduces the value of completing it.

    I miss act 4 map design. That was awesome.

    Honestly would love to see a road map for future content in the game to see what the plans really are. Are we really going to get more content elsewhere to balance this out?

    I think the amount of revenue being gained directly from act content isn’t enough for Kabam so they are just cutting the cost to produce them. I question whether there will be anything additional elsewhere in the game to make up for it, but time will tell.

    We’re still waiting for Raids, so does this mean developer time will go into this mode so we’ll actually get them?

    Nerf to the game. Less stuff. Correct, we don't know the rewards yet but I'm sure they won't increase much.

    I hope the resources are directed elsewhere, to other good content, but I'm betting that they just have fewer resources to use right now. Perhaps it will be fixing bugs (good!) or they lost their jobs (bad!).

    Has it been confirmed that story content quests will only be three paths long? I saw the beta and just assumed the three paths were because the wanted to test those nodes specifically with the other three paths to be added in once the story content makes it to the live servers.

    Edit: I found my answer. It was confirmed.
