What's next, my fellow f2p community guys?

I want to know how fellow f2p players doing & what's next for f2p prospective now after july 4th deals that created a gap btween rosters ( but hard fact: game is running due to spenders but can't deny now the bridges is getting wider & broader as the game moves forward)
So , want to know how you are all dealing with it & what's the plan for you guys( f2p guys).
Disclaimer: no dig or poke at spenders or whale ☮️, just a general discussion , so need to backlash☮️

I was never completing against the whales so this did nothing to me. I play the game at my pace so it didn't change anything. I know those that try to be FTP and compete at the highest level are the ones that will be raising a stink.

Just don't bother competing play the game at your own time and just enjoy it if you like take a break too. It's a game is not suppose to be a major factor your life.

Taking a decent break myself. I've always struggled to compete, but the past couple of BGs seasons have made me so excited to expand my roster. After completing all of the content I could possibly complete this month, I've realized Gold and ISO are too lacking for me even if I invest everything into just those two resources. Then 4th of July came and blew everything I've worked for over the past 90 days out of the water. It's not even that bad, just so demotivating. Battlegrounds is the only mode actively inspiring me to build my roster, but events like these just make it clear that 100 bucks is worth just that much more than 4+ hours a day for months.

Isn’t there supposed to be the “biggest free to play event ever” coming up? Didnt they say that in that last live stream? Is it possible they anticipated this and had a counter balance to it already in the books? It might be time to start letting some of those details out early to assuage some fear.

It won't help, it'll help FTP players get some stuff but the whales will get the same to keep the gap just as wide.

The gap is too far now to compete even if you're the number 1 AW and BG player as a FTP players you're still leagues behind the whales. No point trying to be competitive anymore, it's been killed off unless you're a whale. No skill based competitiveness anymore when you're blown out of the water roster wise. BG was supposed to be peak competitiveness but now if you'll simply not be able to.

That was just a way of speaking, not intended to take it seriously.

I doubt they would do exclusive content for the FTP

Same. I just do what I can do. I'm typically 6 months behind everyone else which is fine.

If you’re FTP, you weren’t competing at the top anyway so realistically doesn’t change a hell of a lot. I think it’s exaggerated how many people “whale out” on these offers, it just seems more because spenders will generally be the most vocal.
These sales will effectively speed up your own progression even if you don’t spend, as the power level in game increases so do rewards across events, generally anyway.

To me there's never a ftp. Time is money if you spend hours everyday grinding this game just to say you're ftp you're losing money somewhere else. I also believe that there are more casual spenders in this game then whales and ftp.

I don’t think they could block spenders, technologically. But I don’t think it has to be FTP exclusive. They just need to dilute the reward pool significantly, don’t they? Enough to take the edge off of this last event. I mean, some of these whales ranked up every useful champ they own. More rewards on the same level might not even be that useful to some of them? Give free to play the opportunity to rank up their best, at least, and the gap narrows (in practice, if not literally).

I mean I haven’t done the leg work to prove that works, but hope abounds!

I agree free to play is a misnomer. I mean, my play is absolutely free. But I pay for most everything else in the game…

Time is money is the most inaccurate and over used statement around. Time is NOT money unless your losing money by playing the game. If you work a job and play on your off time or even while at work, you are NOT losing money and therefore time is NOT money.

No one works 24 hours a day so playing in your off time after working a long day of work isn't costing you lost money it just time you would waste doing something else silly.

When someone spends cash buying things in MCOC, Kabam (technically Netmarble) receives the cash. You are spending cash on the game. When someone spends time playing MCOC, Kabam doesn't get the time. That time is spent by the player for the player on the player. This is a net zero transaction. Relative to the game, they are playing completely for free, because Kabam receives nothing from the player.

That's why when I drive to McDonalds I can claim I spent time getting there so maybe they should give me a hamburger for that time, but since McDonalds doesn't get that time they don't feel compelled to give me anything in return. I might be spending time, but I'm not spending it in a way that they get it.

I never understood the point in the first place . I play this game for fun not to compete with random people . There will always be people who are far more obsessed with this game and have far more time , obsession to dedicate to it. Seems like a pointless thing to chase them

I personally would never spend actual money on a mobile game . It seems ridiculous but if Kabam would implement a game mode where you can voluntarily switch on ads and get resources in exchange I wouldn’t mind at sll

Kabam doesn't get the time but gets players competing in the various areas of the game and without those the game wouldn't keep running. If people don't invest time then for example in battlegrounds it would become impossible to find a match, or the number of the alliances would become much smaller, so Kabam needs those players to invest time in the game

If you grind the game for hours cause you're ftp and have to do arena for hours everyday then yes that time you use on the game could potentially be time you could have used to make money. Yes the person who plays on their down time is different but I don't know anybody who works full-time and has other responsibilities that has hours everyday to play this game. I log in everyday yes but somedays I might play 15 mins total and others an hr or hr and a half. Not 4-6 hrs playing arena.

You can block free to players out of paid content but you can’t block anyone out of “free to play content”. So even if it’s the best mind blowing event of all time it won’t lessen the difference, it will maintain it.

As for me, I will continue enjoying crushing the little thronebreaker accounts in platinum, then stop playing battlegrounds for the season once I hit GC

I am absolutely unfazed
It doesn't affect me in any ways as I only plan on going URU or Arcane in GC and play in a chill S1 or G3 alliance
I am able to play at my own pace and that's all that bothers me...

Time is everyone's most valuable resource, and there is a HEAVY opportunity cost to playing this game as a f2p player...

I don't really care what the whales get when they whale out. I think it's a supremely small part of the community that are F2P while also directly competing with whale accounts in various PvP content. For me (and to be clear, I'm not strictly a F2P player, I'm just not a whale), I'm always several leagues under the big guys. I don't even meet them most of the time. I had one match in BG where I met someone with half a dozen r5s (I have one), which still isn't too crazy, but otherwise I feel like I'm generally matched up against people roughly my level in the various PvP contents. Or at least my alliance is matched up with alliances of roughly our level.

If anything, I feel like the most uneven match-ups I have in BG tend to be the ones where I'm meeting lower-level accounts which results in them getting smashed, rather than me going up against the big spenders and getting smashed myself.
