So in a nutshell, the community is OK with players getting huge progression through payment, if anyone is struggling on progression it's their fault for not doing 100% all content and buying all unit and store rank items and spending 24 hours a day in the game for even a fraction of what P2W players get in one transaction, and the game does not need F2P players and their voices have no worth?
I'm sure there are actual nuts that live in that particular nutshell, but no one with a brain says anything like this. To call this a strawman would be an insult to scarecrows.
An important point is that amidst all the apologists I am yet to see anyone address the sub 2m accounts with multiple 7 stars and ranked up and dupped 6 stars that are not even Paragons. Seems convenient and it was the basis for my argument.
Of course it's easy to skim past that and instead focusing on ridiculing me or my roster/progression, except this is not a stick measuring contest of an argument. It's about a sudden progression jump that many youtubers already address in length and expressed their shock at the disparity this event created. This is not the one top tank champ as in the past. This event gave multiple max rank resources, nexus crystals and 7 stars.
I know that for some that have not been here that long it must seem simple to look at the current rewards and assume anyone had 6 stars or max 5 stars when grinding the first acts. I had to max rank 4 stars for content. Many of them. My best chance at getting them was luck in the GHCs and I beat a record by opening over 1000 to get my first 4 star from one. The fact is that many of the resources from the content had to be spent on champs that are now irrelevant in rarity, whilst new players and spenders can skip them entirely and get to high rank high rarity champs. I don't expect to be at the level of whales or spenders. I am just amazed at how it has become so simple and straightforward to skip that difficulty and in a single event have a roster to reach GC in battlegrounds by spending alone. That is an imbalance without precedent in scale or magnitude, when Kabam invests so heavily in this new game mode to keep it at the best value in stores for in game currency.
I think what made me finally push to TB was the last victory track event and a run of plentifull gold and ISO objectives that really helped F2P players improve their roster. Since the P2W July event it has turned on its head, and anyone that tries to minimise its impact on the forums by aggressive trolling or stat shaming is either a beneficiary of the event or simply not aware of the change on pace of progression it has introduced for competitive content.
Yes, skill will always be an issue and an advantage for players that dedicate their time to improve in the game, but the immense gap on health pools in those max ranks and base 7 stars is enough to become a hard stop for those players in a points system based on health left at the end, and in a game where there is a core parry and intercept mechanic even the lowest skilled whale can just plow through eventually.
And for those of you that focused on stat shaming and missed the part where I said I am at GC felt it very easy to bend over backwards to then try to claim I have was lucky. 7 years. Doing OG AW with Superior Iron Man. Over 100 MVP in Wars. Doing hard content without an OG SW as a cheat code before the nerf or even the perfect block synergy exploit was removed. I know I am punching up and need to invest on the game to have any chance in competitive content. That is not news to me. I am simply pointing out that the gap increased significantly with this PTW event and like other youtubers I hope Kabam is already planning on how to reduce that gap to even remotely manageable levels.
The smoking gun is low champ rating accounts with max or high rank and high rarity dipped champs. You can try your best to pretend it doesn't exist or that it isn't a problem for the game, but you too will eventually be frustrated and have to face the stat shammers try to belittle you because the current balance is in their favour.

Excuses excuses excuses... To get the best deals on 4th of July u needed to be Paragon... 2 Mill rating or lower that benefitted from 4th of July sales still put up more work and did more content than you did...

Hello Mr. 2M account Thronebreaker with multiple 7s. How are you? I see you spent a lot of money this past July. Thank you for supporting the free to play community, by paying for dozens, perhaps hundreds of players game play so they get to play a game they otherwise would never get to play. Most of them appreciate it.
I'm an eight year veteran 5M rating Paragon with a decent roster that has probably done more content than you and still grinds arena for units. If you haven't slingshotted past me yet, you probably will in a few more sales. Know that while I'm giving you the finger when you beat me in Battlegrounds, we're still cool. I play my way, you play your way.
It was already pretty amazing to me that, rather than take any of the legitimate advice posted here about the various ways you can progress your account, you consistently say that "those ways aren't good enough". It totally blows my mind though, that you're now claiming you haven't been able to progress to paragon because years ago you (like many of us here as well, btw) had to play the game using 4 and 5 star champions. The "smoking gun" against you is very clearly a roadblock you've placed against yourself, as as has been pointed out, the low accounts you have such a huge problem with had to have already progressed beyond you to capitalize on those deals in the first place. You can listen to us or you can not, but nobody should have to continue listening to you go on and on from your soapbox.

Because you've yet to give any reason why this needs to change. All you've proven is that you don't dedicate enough time to your own account for it to matter. If Kabam had all of the best progression rewards needed to catch up hiding in Act 8, you still wouldn't make it, through no fault of the economic gap. You can make these excuses that we're all just missing the point, but you're only dissapointed with the communities responses because your initial argument just wasn't filled with relevant information.
If you really believe there's an issue here, it's going to take a lot more than anecdotal evidence and inevitable BGs roster differences to prove that.

Exactly, OP is in denial. He thinks he has a gap with spenders.. The truth is that he has a gap with Free end game players..
They are not enough , whales' deck in battlegrounds full of rank5 and rank2 7* , ftp members have three or four rank5 , so we need resources lol
Please... Whales compete against whales... FTPs facing a whale once in a while doesnt mean there needs to be a balance... And there is a big difference between a deck with 2 r5s and 28 r4s+r3s and 1 r4 and 2 r3s 🤣 OP was behind before 4th of July sales... He is practically a new TB

One of those is my alt account. Well, one of my alts. My first account is older and more battle-worn than yours. But whatever.
Fun fact: FTP users, just like every "free to try" service, are what companies bank on converting a target % of that base to "paying customer." The more window browsers, the higher possible number of those walking in the door and buying. In a down economy where their parent corp is getting their market cap squished, they've (kabam mcoc) clearly pulled out all the stops to up that conversion rate. There seems to be no market correction in the offing, so that certainly must be frustrating for the unconverted...
Perhaps this is semantics, but spending $25 isn’t a “pay to win” event… sure the rewards difference is quite substantial but it’s not as if people are amassing oodles of r5s and r2s. It’s a no-brainer deal for occasional to moderate spenders for additional rewards at the cost of a decent to good meal at a restaurant
I need to know where that is because no where close to where I live can I get a decent meal for $25. Fast food absolutely. But even single serve pizza at the Italian eatery where I live is $25 alone (no drinks, salad, etc).

Lol, get into GC and you’d probably cry. Average players with decks full of max sig r4, r5, and great 7*.
I am at GC, and my comment is about the accounts I encountered on the way and still do at GC.
Wait a sec… you made it into GC? That’s an achievement already. I spend a little bit I’m not a whale by any stretch of the imagination…. and bro, let me just tell ya, all of us run into accounts WAYYY bigger than ours in bgs. Some we still win, some we get crushed. It’s the nature of bgs. Unless you’re one of the very rare giant blubbery whales, you’re certainly going to match accounts that out rank you in a big way.
Push to complete content. I’d focus on more r3 right now cuz they’re more easily attainable. Then once you 100% act7/8 you’ll have your r4s and a better idea of who you want to rank and/or which game mode to tailor your roster to.

This is not a serious attempt at conversion:
