I m pro diveriity when it s not for the sake of it and the sales. This one feels like it is the case. The "mess" part was about her desing, color palette etc, not her skin color. And because it s design mess, that s why it feels forced diversity.Btw, comparing a comic character with a big history and genius, most of the times, story, to a game character that appeared out of nowhere is, laughable, to say the least. If I remember correctly, they said in the NYCC video that they created the character with diversity in mind. if you watched the video from nycc than you would know that she was primarily created by and worked on by kabam employees hailing from different native tribes. stop acting like this is forced diversity when it's literally the passion project of people making the game that want to see themselves represented Don't even try the "representation" argument here. There s more than 15 unused Marvel characters, that are native americans, have a great history, awesome stories in the comics, but instead, kabam chose to do something "original" to diversify the roster.

"I'm pro diversity when I don't want my white privilege showing" is what this sounds like. What exactly do you mean by "out of nowhere"? Champs are designed months in advance and we've known we were going to get a Kabam original that month. How is that "out of nowhere"?Creating a character with diversity in mind is exactly how inclusion works my guy. Thought you were smarter than that.
"They have Native Americans. We don't need any more." Sound about right?
"They have Native Americans. We don't need any more." Sound about right? No, we need Silver Fox, Thunderbird, Puma, Echo, and DEFINATLY Forge that I was waiting to get released along with Danni, but he wasn't.

No, we need Silver Fox, Thunderbird, Puma, Echo, and DEFINATLY Forge that I was waiting to get released along with Danni, but he wasn't. Yet that doesn't mean they won't be added later. Kabam chose to make an entirely new character with input from actual native Americans. Perhaps you should show some humility and let them have their time in the spotlight.
I'd like to know how you came up with diversity for the sake of it. She was designed by First Nations people in part. Because, as I said, she s poorly designed, and not that much, "original" design wise. Love how you claim its a poor design when it's literally an original creation. Bet some of your original designs are poor too then Every creator has good and bad designs. I m no exception. Yes, she s an original creation, that lacks originality. Because she's not white? What does being white have to do with anything? She could be asian, middle eastern, latina, doesn't matter, either way she lacks originality. You take that outfit and put it on any other skin color and it looks bad.... The very definition of diversity means variety, that can have a lot of applications, not just skin color.

"They have Native Americans. We don't need any more." Sound about right? There are plenty of amazing Native American champs that could get added, who said we have too many?
Hey we found our crappy thread that will be up all weekend because Kabam isn't working.

Bad, F*ing desing. Why do you try to make this sound racist, I have no idea.

You really don't know how entertainment marketing works, right? Kabam wanted a piece of the diversity pie that their own doing, not marvel comics related, to get the credits. Having a group of representatives as part of the creation doesn't tell me anything, that s also marketing.

You don't even know my nationality.A character that s not in the comics, in a game that s based in the comics, is out of nowhere. And, if they were targeting inclusion, they were gonna choose an already beloved, well known character. Thought You were smarter than that.

All the guy is saying is that he doesnât like the character design. Maybe he couldâve worded it differently, yeah⌠but heâs not targeting the native Americanâs spotlight.
"They have Native Americans. We don't need any more." Sound about right? There are plenty of amazing Native American champs that could get added, who said we have too many? It's not up to Kabam. Marvel has to approve those champs to be able to be added to the game. It's one of the reasons the F4 champs took so long. There was a huge dispute and even their comics were pulled. Their IP wasn't being added anywhere because Fox messed up the movies so bad.

It's only a problem when they're not white right? Lol

Heaven forbid they add native American characters during native American month while showing support for thier native American developers who helped create said characters. I'm guessing you want them to atop doing it during black history month or Hispanic heritage month etc as well too?
"They have Native Americans. We don't need any more." Sound about right? There are plenty of amazing Native American champs that could get added, who said we have too many? The view that says they should add existing ones said it.This is a Kabam creation. The storyline, the design, all of it is new. It might have some elements we've seen before, but having a similar arc isn't exactly a new thing in the gaming industry. I'm sorry but the issue is clear. Whether you think they're unoriginal for creating a Native character, or you think it's diversity for the sake of it, that's an ignorant view. It's also not going to hold water for Canadians like myself, or the game team, or especially the people who contributed their own personal history to the design. You see, while the rest of the world was scoffing at the genocide in places like Europe, Canada had its own genocide. The Native people of Canada were forced into reserves, which were basically fenced-in areas. The people were fed alcohol to keep them subdued enough not to fight (which no doubt contributed to the rampant alcoholism we see today), even as early as the early 1800s when residential schools were opened to "civilize the savages" (aka Christianize them), which was supported by a number of the people found on our money. Those schools were a home for various forms of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. Children removed from homes at gun point, to be abused and lectured on the "privilege of going home to celebrate Christmas". Some were even sold. Generations of oppression and cover-ups for a people who first occupied this land, and the beginnings of some of the truths coming to the surface. If they want to create a Native character, I give them all the power in the world.

We get characters that are clearly ones that the company wants to promote, and then we get long forgotten ones that we haven't seen in any media in ages.
I can tell you that when I was a kid I relished seeing someone with my background represented in popular culture. It was meaningful. So I hope this release is meaningful to some kids who pick up this character. As adults I think sometimes we are skeptical of inclusion efforts assuming someone is trying to check a box. Based on the video they released I donât believe that is the case with this design. Itâs a big world, and even bigger Battlerealm, and we should be excited to add to it. Especially if that is going to make some kid feel proud to be seen and represented in a game they love.

On top of that you got repeat designs for captain america and spider man which is kind of annoying. So nope, itâs not only a problem when theyâre white. There is a plethora of bad designs in this game, Iâm just adding this new on to that list.
