Kabam, why so quiet?

For real, I've seen so many posts about war and this seasons tactic and yet NOTHING from Kabam?

You guys insisted on doing war over Christmas and now it's looking like the worst node combination you've dropped and you're staying silent.

Also, first off season war, what's happening with that? Knocked my alliance down a tier thanks to yet another mess up on your end....

This is a kick in teeth... no problems responding to a joke thread as the SECOND COMMENT:

That's slightly different I think, Miike basically said war will continue as normal with no extended break, Christmas break (what we've had for last 5 years) is a 'change' to the calender.

This however, needs acknowledgement not ignorance right now, I feel like A LOT of players are torn on whether to play AW or not with it being over Christmas break as, officers especially, will be pulled away from families time and this will make that completely wasted time OR sway them towards putting the game down
Then don't play. That's perfectly fine. Not sure why you need Kabam's acknowledgement for that.

They might be trading the posts about the issues with war and be like... Oh man, now we are going to have to postpone war but can't say it's down to part of the community wanting a festive break

Pulled away? My path 9 in AW takes less than 10 minutes to complete all 4 fights. 20 minutes in total if I take any bosses. War is 2 days long and starts late on the 25th in the evening. Make all your moves on the 26th so you're not "pulled away" from family. Y'all are the most dramatic bunch.
The holiday war will actually start on the 24th and end on the 26th.

How much time does it take officers to plan?
That's a very subjective question. Every alliance is going to be different. My alliance and the BG i'm in, we have path assignments and we're left to it. We ask questions on counters and move on our own. So if the BG has been together for a long time, is there really anything that needs to be planned? If so, can't that be planned the war before the season starts? Is it against the rules to plan for a war ahead of time or it has to be planned after it starts?

That's just not how Tier 1 War works, dude haha
War absolutely can not be planned ahead of time, because you literally can't see the defenders you're planning for.

It could take +/- 2 hours to properly plan a War for one Battlegroup.
My alliance is taking the War season off, not a huge deal, I actually really need a break from it - and I agree with pretty much everything else that you said... but, you are significantly underestimating how much time planners spend on each war when paths aren't the same for each member every war.
I 100% get what you mean with tier 1 but it's also a very small fraction of the player base. I said in another thread that if there was less time for war, then they should move the season back like when we had just 24hrs to complete it. Most of the people here that I am replying to are probably where I'm at. We finished Plat 4 last season. I'd say most of tier 3 and below don't need a ton of time invested in planning like what needs to be done in T1.

We're in Play 4. Have been since I joined this alliance like 3 or 4 seasons ago or something. We're assigned paths. The BG I'm in hasn't changed people since I've joined that I can remember. We know what fights to take and if someone isn't sure about a boss island fight, they ask in chat. We've been able to maintain Plat 4 without hours of planning ahead or after it starts.

Tier 1 might be a small percentage of the playerbase, but I'm honestly surprised that kabam isn't delaying the season considering most of their profit from wars probably comes from tier 1 players.

It hasn't been the last 5 years. It's been a few times. Once was due to ongoing issues, if memory serves.
No one is pulling anyone away from families. We have persistent placement, which means there are assignments, and no need for hours of planning. Also, if someone is in an Alliance that forces them to play and doesn't have the understanding to overlook people being with family during the holidays, that's not the fault of Kabam. Life will go on if someone misses a War or two because of X-Mas.

I dunno. They pushed it the last 2 years. There's 2 scenarios I think it could be. One being that attack phase is double the time as in the past. The other, would be something coming in the future where the season can't be pushed or it doesn't line up correctly.

But beyond the last 2 years, war hasn't been pushed for Christmas either so I really don't know. I really honestly don't care either way. I'll be driving for 8 hrs on Christmas anyway and with family on the 26th but that's what bathroom breaks are for.

I don't know what my alliance is doing for AQ though since we've been doing it Monday-Friday. If Kabam wants to give a real Christmas present, cancel AQ for 6 months.

they can cancel another 6 months after and call it an early christmas present for 2024
