I don’t know, but I’d rather assume OP is telling the truth than not.
Also Miike is giving OP instructions on how to ask for a refund. That tells me that he assume support can use time on the case cause most likely OP got no credit with the units purchase. Why would he direct OP to support if there’s no ground for refund?

    Edit: what Jax said

It doesn’t matter that no one’s what these

It doesn’t matter that no one knows what these Market Points are for. They were part of the purchase at the point of payment so OP should have there points. It could be the 400 points are literally just symbols that do absolutely nothing, but he should still have them as they were part of the purchase.

How does anybody know he doesn’t? Does he have something right now that says “you have 0 market points?”

And he’s already been told that he can get a refund if he asks for one. There’s literally no issue here.
Well he has no positive confirmation that he does has have them. If someone can guarantee to him he definitely has them, but at this point in time there’s no way to show them on his account then there’s no issue. I’m just pointing that if they were part of the deal at the point of purchase he should have them, people seem to be blaming him for not having something he’s purchase simply because we don’t know what that thing is yet. And he was told he can reach out to support to “discuss a refund” that doesn’t guarantee they will give him one.

Nobody is calling OP a liar. People are saying he *might* be wrong. Nothing wrong with that unless you refuse to correct yourself when presented with contrary evidence.

Miike directing him to support to get a refund is literally what the OP asked for. Straight up it’s the last sentence of the original post. If you’re going to try to armchair litigate this, I’d suggest starting by reading the post.

Good Lord. Quite the discourse over Points that haven't even been explained yet.

I see to at as both half empty/half full. Or 6 of one, half dozen of the other. Whichever cliche one prefers. Can’t have one without the other right? If the error or leak doesn’t occur in the first place, then there’s no discourse about this subject really. 🤷‍♂️

@Wicket329 i was replying to @Pikolu who was saying exactly “how do we know OP didn’t get the market points?”. Something you also brought up. Nobody was clearly calling someone a liar indeed, but their claim wasn’t taken at face value.
Miike and Jax coming in to direct OP to support is reasonable and a good and clear answer to their request.
All other forum member arguing that’s on OP to make the purchase without the full info was unnecessary and to be expected around these parts. Anyway I’ll keep working on my litigation and communication skills cause that was the point I was trying to make.
    Armchair rested.

Should have done your research on this topic. Legend has it though that acquiring 4million market points gives you a free 1* groot.

Also if you wanted to test market points, you could have just bought the paragon daily deal for 5.

So then every time I see buy 2 get 1 free posted on any item, I should go home do my due diligence, call the corporate office, ask on Reddit, and then come back to purchase it? :#
Mf really said due diligence lol. Got a point though

The bigger problems are kabam putting stuff out there all the time and something's always wrong. Maybe they should take accountability for the problems they cause bc they put something out that shouldn't have been there in the first place

@DNA3000 read the thread again, OP didn’t call it false advertising until post number 5. His first post was just about buying something as presented and not getting said thing. First reply was someone basically telling that OP was stupid. Providing zero help and just being belittling.

As usual, too many “forum know better” belittling OP and pretending that’s on them to buy something they don’t know the full extent. You can take apart all you want if it’s false advertising or not, but the store showed items + bonus items. If this was the reason OP made the purchase (even not knowing what the bonus item are for) it stands to reason to ask for a refund or getting the said bonus items.

It was the OP that first made the claim of false advertising. If all he said was "I bought one of the offers to get the Market Points, but since those are now gone I would like to get a refund" there would be no problem, as when he actually did that Kabam gave him instructions on how to ask for a refund. End of issue.

But once he claimed it was false advertising, you can't then assert everyone else is unjustifiably "belittling" the OP. He opened the door to that specific line of discussion.
It should be noted that the validity of that claim hinges on whether he actually received the item- a point which was not confirmed one way or another. They weren’t responding to him by saying “It is unclear if you ever received them hence your claims of fraud or premature” they (moderators included) said “you dont know what the item does” which obviously has no bearing on the question of whether it was received

The title has scam in it and OPs 2nd comment claims false advertisement. It might have been the 5th posted comment but why would 4 other comments that weren't OPs count for anything?

What a wonderful reminder to make sure you know what it is you are spending $400 on, before you spend it

Regardless of your budget, even if you’re buying a $5 offer, it is important to be sure you are informed on exactly what it is you are purchasing

Good sentiment in general but how it pertains to this post is… confusing. The OP read the items listed before purchasing and is now contending that they didn’t receive one of those listed items. What else was there to research exactly? The reputation of the company?

Apologies for not being clear enough, but I’m referring to the Market Points to which we have zero information
All good! I definitely agree. Given the position I wouldn’t purchase an item not knowing what it does. That being said that issue is removed from the one of whether or not I got my item

I don’t know. I mean. I get that people should “know” more before making a purchase. But eliminating most illogical options or one that defy common sense it’s the intro to rewards or loyalty program. “Buy this. Get points. Cash in those points for XX Items”

I mean yeah. XX items could end up being only profile pictures which OP had zero interest in and he gets burned regardless. But if he still got his points, that takes away half the equation.

It’s not even half the equation- it’s the entire thing. OP didn’t assert that they were mislead about the function of the points. They are saying the points hadn’t been given to them. The only question that matters is if that is true or not. If it is, then there are grounds for a refund (although it seems they may be able to get one regardless so everyone should be content at the very least) but if they were granted (they may not yet be viewable for example while still being tracked) then this complaint is wholly invalid. In fact, they literally could do nothing- doesn’t matter. Thats why responses pertaining to their function are completely off base. A similar example would be me completing a quest advertised to give a specific crystal. If I do so, and my inventory is empty, then what the crystal contains (or even the question of whether I can spin it or not- it might literally be cosmetic) is completely irrelevant to whether it was given to me or not

Now that we know what the new Market Points are for..

    https://forums.playcontestofchampions.com/en/discussion/359299/upgrading-the-summoner-s-market-introducing-the-market-bonus-event#latest

Did you ever get your purchases refunded ?

    ——
Otherwise, let’s assume they do say “OK, we'll credit you for having earned 200 (x2) bonus points **on that given purchase date**.

However those Points don’t actually do anything for you, because the Market Bonus Points Event was NOT live at that time. And would thus be Expired(Reset) for when the Bonus Points Event does actually start.

And the Bonus Points Event *RESETS* every 7 days, so those points earned last week gives you ZERO Milestones, because the Milestones/Event did not exist at that time.

If Bonus Points were something persistent like an Inventory Item count, or Treasury currency, then maybe they could credit you with that many Points. But that's not the design.

It’s technically false advertising. When the purchase was made, it said +200 market points.

They weren't even advertised as anything though. It could have said 3 bananas and it would have meant the same thing essentially
Wait a minute. Are you saying the bananas I bought are no good? I WANTS REFUND TOO!

Full disclosure, I ate 2 of them.
