Yeah, yeah, yeah.... they are great and can solo so much content. But, c'mon, when someone asks for advice on how to beat certain content be a little more helpful than, "Just use Doom!" Not everyone has these champs, especially at 5*, 6* or 7*.

It would be more helpful if you offered something like, "I soloed that with CGR. If you don't have him then try..."

Sorry, been looking thru the forum, reddit and YT for tips and tricks for different things and got exhausted reading the extremely large number of responses like this to posts asking for help for whatever.

    It's not that I'm stuck. I'm working my way thru different content and researching counters for different things. This has been my frustration for such a long time. Using AuntM.ai, guiamtc.com, Frontline, RTM, MCOC Noob and others I eventually figure things out on my own.

    Well, there are hard counters and then there are certain champs that can counter a lot. Some people prefer to use a one-size-fits all approach and other are more into planning out things.

    Coming on here and basically calling out the forums because people tend to go with the CGR/Doom response when asked "Who'd you use" isn't the way to go about it. Outside a few fights/node combos, any champ in the game can clear content/boss.

    If it makes you feel any better, I didn't have a rank 5 Doom or CGR on my roster (finally r5'd CGR with a 4-to-5 gem. Barely use either of them. Doesn't mean they aren't both fantastic, but when you have every champ in the game (outside of the last 4 released), you find yourself using different champs for different things.

    I'm in the "don't have every champ in the game" camp. I really like using BG and Arenas to experiment with counters. I learned a lot and now have certain go-to champs for certain situations, and alternatives in case I don't draw the right counters. Obvs, for questing the different nodes, and the different BG metas, these counters aren't always effective. But, hey... making me a better player and learning the depth of my roster. It's fun using champs you don't always think of.

    Seriously, consider it a PSA? I'll take the advice, but, why be lazy and offer a rare champ as a solution to a common problem? Maybe offer alternatives is what I'm saying. Be actually helpful.

    Right. Most of the champs can do similar things. We have swiss army type champs that can get you through a ton, we have specialist-type champs that are good for a particular boss or lane, and then we have champs that are there for synergy purposes and can ne used as clean up on a fight or two.

    MCOC Noob has some great content and he usually does it with champs that are ideal for the lane instead of a one-size fits all approach. I've been playing since the beginning, so I like to try things out first before hopping onto You Tube or forums. Sounds like you like doing the same. No right or wrong when playing.

    Doom is still in the top 5 even with the rarity lock. He's the best at what he does, and he does a lot. Chavez, Juggs, Wolf, Kushala, Tigra, Abs Man, Sassy, etc. are all great too, but none of them can lock down a fight like Doom can. Doom cycle may be boring, but it's effective.

    Doom is still top 10 but there isn’t a single piece of recent content where I’ve reached for doom over most other mystics so people claiming he’s still top 3 or number 1 is kinda baffling to me. Probably number 1 for act content but any champ can clear that pretty easily these days

    I have 921 total champs (counting all 1-7*) and only recently pulled a 4* Doom after I turned Thronebreaker. Doh!

    I’m curious about all the people disagreeing here. Doom isn’t relevant for battlegrounds, is barely relevant in war since he doesn’t cover most meta defenders nowadays, and most endgame content that’s dropped isn’t doom favored.

    He was good for a few fights in Necro that other champs could still handle just as well or better, and any champ can clear EQ and AQ so if that’s people’s argument for keeping him up there, I don’t really understand it. Even in story content Doom isn’t a must have lmao. He’s good there, but again, literally anyone can do story content easily nowadays

    Every guide I find lists multiple counter options consistently. Sure they may occasionally point out that a specific champ completely cheeses it, but it's ALWAYS in combination with alternatives.

    I really wonder about where you're looking if everything is just saying to use Doom or CGR with no other options.

    I agree there are lots of helpful guides out there like AuntM.ai, guiamtc.com, Frontline, RTM, MCOC Noob, MCOC Encyclopedia that I mentioned and others. It's mostly the forums and reddit and *some* YT channels.

    When you are pouring thru the posts here it's loads of Doom and CGR and some the examples others have listed:

    "Quake it!"
    "Just use Ghost!"
    "Just use Herc"

    And don't forget about BWCV!
