Not a good yardstick if you watch YouTubers play, as I don’t think someone who uses 50 revives will post it. I’d like to think the bigger reality is that there are lots of us who will unashamedly use tons of revives, potions and units to bash through. So it’s ok.
So, just randomly went in and did the Dimensional being challenge first. Big mistake, it was ROUGH! 40+ revives and it wasn't fun either! Others seem better, I guess got the worst out of the way.

Yeah i dont know how they even let that one be a challenge since those champs are not long form content champs like g99, wong, serpent, horseman storm etc
i was thinking the same, When necro was launched, Valiant title was a dream for a Lot of players, actually, a Lot of players have a full r3 deck in Battlegrounds.
Today i did the 10 years necro completion, Wong did everything, spent 20 revives.
the challenges are pretty well designed. Apart from taking a long time to complete, most of the fights will have a counter for (And yes, Carina has always been an end-game content so i'll see it as everybody have the champs needed).
I did all 5 challenges in around 60 revives and 100 lv4/5 pots. Apart from r1 wong and r1 g2099 (which are the 2 main carry in 2 challenges), i have the remaining suitable counters ranked up. R1 wong and g2099 did a great job for me though, wong can still solo fights , i even nailed some solos like titty, airwalker, wiccan, apoc, sam, .... Having wiccan as #10 year really helped a lot, as he will be the direct counter for gm phase 4 and give wong extended spells time
With those numbers, I would not say you are average, but well above average. Good job though. For OP, I wouldn't expect him to be close to that for all five challenges.
That seems correct. I remember spending 40 revives per path on my last paths of the carina challenges. First paths were closer to 80 revives. I consider myself a bit above average skill.
Most revives in the beginning also come from the grandmaster fight. I will still at least spend 5 revives for that last phase and more time around 10 revives just to get that very last phase down.
Another thing to consider is that I had one run doing 100% necro with zero potions. Spent 120 revives on it. A revive + heal to full is worth 4 20% revives in my opinion. Being able to heal to full means you don't die from 1 mistake and can continue the fight. All those low revive count runs probably heal to full each time.
If you haven't explored Necro yet - would it be worth continuing the rest of the path as you complete the challenges, or would that be too difficult and you're better off quitting out after completing the 2 challenges and doing the full paths with a "normal" team?
Some are non counters to part 2 aka 3 half paths cant counter part 2 due to it would cost too much for some since theres also no reverse immunity for final gm or say mystic spidey like the dimensional beings one doesnt have a counter to any of part 2 paths since mostly just mystics
Don't listen to the handful of revives, it was easy, crew.
I'm with @willrun4adonut , those people are far above average. I'm probably another "average" mcoc valiant and I used, probably, 250 revives perhaps more, to 100% necropolis near release, with 5/65 ascended Aegon. That makes me above average for the player base as most haven't done necropolis..!!
Anyone doing a full path in under 20 revives, is seriously skilled. Top 0.001% skill level, I'm guessing. Maybe another decile below that even.
I'll have R2 7* (R3 in a few cases) or 5/65 ascended for all needed champs for these and I'll be staggered if I get under 30 revives average. Probably more like 40. This is, the titular example, of end game content, as the game currently stands.
i think ill wait to see what these super banquet crystals have before i get into the carina challenges. i have 40 revives and 150 potion crystals and a dupped r2 wong and still dont have confidence in a run lol
Kabam designed Necro in hopes players purchase units with cash to do it
Necro could easily be done F2P and was the easiest bit of endgame content we’ve had
I wouldn’t necessarily say easiest, but I would say it’s the most fair and interestingly designed. Honestly the fact it doesn’t have the stupid 1% evade chance of LoL and Abyss is such an improvement on its own. I’ve done one Abyss path just to try it out and I mostly hated the experience. I’m almost done exploring Necro and I’ve quite enjoyed most of my runs even if they’ve hit my revive stash fairly hard and demanded I play very well. Either way I totally agree with the base sentiment, I’m ftp but Necro has been cool.
Yeah but it wasn’t an unfair revive sink was my whole point. People here are acting like Kabam was tryna drain their wallets with Necro when with planning, it could be done on a budget F2P. I didn’t take advantage of the revive farm like the paragon seems to suggest and I knocked out the content in 3 months just farming arena and the apothecary.
This wasn’t me trying to say oh it was easy for me git gud (not that you were saying that but some others seemed to think I was) was pointing out the fair nature of it. But I didn’t think a single defender in there other than FAM maybe at release that eas actually a bs fight. Kate could solo half the champs in there and Shuri could solo a few as well. Wong could solo a path on his own + lots of other great options at release. Unlike any other piece of endgame content like this that we’ve gotten
Just spam revives and level up the key champions for it. Kabam literally donates you the key champs for the challenges. Also all the deathless champs were easy grabs
I'd ignore this as he's an endgame player, but not average skills at all (much higher) like you originally asked.
I'd say the average player is NOT able to knock them out OP with a handful of revives. I'd consider myself average, and I used about 30 for the mutant one. I am not planning on being able to solo any/many fights with my r2 Wong, but I've also never used him before.
I never really used wong before, but I started using him against vision aarkus, looking at how normax used him in his itemless run, and soloed all the way through cap Britain. Wiccan was very rude and waited until all my spells fell off to actually throw his sp2, and psychoman is just a pain in general. I believe in your ability to solo fights with r2 wong, especially if you bring a relic on him (my r3 wong has no relic)

Many solos normie did have force close restart attempts. You can see it when he is at the fight screen. I was watching that video for reference too. And he mentioned on the pin comment that Psycoman needed a specific rotation and it took him a lot of effort to pinpoint.
But wong is way cheaper, slower but effective. It's just getting used to his rotation and managing his heavy unstoppable cool down while spamming sp2s after the ramp.
@Polygon you can even bring in 3 star wiccan unduped and he will still get the job done. You prob wont use him anywhere except for GM phase 4 from my experience, wong just solo carry the whole path (i did path 3 (titty) and path 2 (apoc) with only wong, he did it really well). And bring in some heavy hitters for GM and thats it. GL on the run bud.

Wiccan himself is good for capbritain if one sucks handling reverse controls

true. it is just...wong is kinda immortal for her. SInce her damage is energy based and with 3 green spells he basically fully healed up just from blocking hits. But her specials post 25 prowess are one-shot though
I don't have a crazy roster and I am ftp, I spent 0 units and around 25 revives for Mutant, Gods challenge and 10 years challenge. I will start farming more revives before attempting futher challenges, granted the ones I did were one of the easier ones.

That's fair, I had to do like 3 force restarts in my run from the opponent getting to sp3. Insane kudos to him for figuring out psychoman, I hate fighting him without shuri

It’s total, now that I re think the number is reaching 35.
For me gods challenge was the easiest, Serpent, Odin, Hulk, Abs man, Herc was the team. Herc was least useful
Mutant was second easiest, double Onslaught, Northstar, Sinister, Apoc. Northstar was least useful
10 year challenge was resource heavy because it was full path, Wong, Gamora, Photon, Wiccan, Black cat. Wong and Gamora did the most lifting for me. Grandmaster was not bad, Wiccan must for last phase.
Finally finished my mutant objective but used about 60 revives with units spent. Realised I’m such a unskilled player without Aegon when I attempted Necropolis last year

Better to explore I think once you have the resources, but ensure the challenges team you bring can do the 2nd half of each path so you don't get stuck by checking all the necro exploration guides (here and youtube).

Where would not having my wiccan be duped hurt the most? Waiting to get him from the giveaway before i do this path Yeah i dont know how they even let that one be a challenge since those champs are not long form content champs like g99, wong, serpent, horseman storm etc

There's a way to do anything.

Kabam admited that it was their biggest mistake that they didn't removed farming before Necro got released.

I am not sure i can reach combo 500 without die🤣
