Why does the gap between top spenders and FTP bother most of you people so much?
The people in the top 100 spent THOUSANDS if not TENS OF THOUSANDS on this event. Most of us (me included) can’t even fathom spending 10k+ on a mobile video game. The fact some think you should be even remotely close to these top spenders is delusional.
After crashed comment the thread blew up, as he mentioned that he removed the filler t3a/t6b and it was replaced by t6cc or t4a. And that had to be corrected but they did it only for the members of millionaires club.
The high (but not so high) spenders are frustrated as they were left behind on this one. I'll still argue that it would break game more if this offer was allowed to everyone. At this moment there are about 10 players who are enjoying breaking the economy
I don't agree with players who spent 25k units and are comparing themselves to players who spent 750k units. Im short on basics. But I have to cover only 7 t4as that I'm holding. But if you spent money (high but not so high) and are at the stage where you have 20-30? or 50? or 100(idk) t4a in overflow, those are the players who are actually suffering from the unbalanced sbc.

It’s not the gap, it’s the ever-twisted communication which suggests one thing but results in another. People are also tired of being taken for fools by being provided with excuses that don’t sit right.

I think you may be missing the point… people ARE NOT suggesting that they should be remotely close to someone who’s financially capable of blowing tens of thousands on the game. People are expecting to be treated the same, for equality, in this case with reference to the 10-unit offer, particularly that it’s now been openly acknowledged that the crystals were unbalanced and therefore, flawed. Whether you bought 1 crystal or 1000 crystals, we should all have access to the same post event offer which addresses the now acknowledged fact that they were “unbalanced”.
In reviewing it, I counted all T6B/T3A drops as filler, and in an effort to reduce the amount of filler I moved some of those drops to other resources.
I wonder which resources small to moderate spenders are currently lacking because they kept pulling T5CC from the banquet crystals while not spending enough to unlock a specific 10 unit offer Guess we know why now
There’s going to be differing opinions on this, I guess people just want to be treated the same…
I don't care about being able to access the catalyst for 10 units. I care about being fed **** crystals with a made up excuse of why they were bad. The consequences of this crystals being bad should be the same for everyone.
All it would have took to avoid this post was to have clear communication at the beginning of the event. There is plenty of data from previous banquets of spending amounts. Set a target of 25k dollars and say any summoner who spends at least this amount will unlock a special offer. Set the bar.
Recently, the communication from the team has been some of the worse that we’ve seen. Information is sparse and hard to find. For a 10 year Grand Banquet, the information should have been pasted on every platform. Be proud of an event if you had intentions of it being the best one yet.
If anything, the offer shouldn’t have been for units. It should have been for cash at whatever the going rate for those resources are. No pressure to buy, but at least it fits with the economy of the game that every player, big spenders or not, have to weigh.

could also had raised the captalty of so tier 6cc yes it would had helped alot offer people to then or there could just had manual check with account had the over let say 20 tier 6cc in overflow and put them in but it didn’t make that there try to economy this banguet broke all of it.

Almost no one has an issue with the concept of ‘buy more accumulate more.’ The issue with the event is that someone paying 300 units for 1 crystal does not get the same potential value from that crystal as someone who spends 15,000 units on crystals who in turn doesn’t get the same value as someone who spends 750,000 units.
Choosing to buy more crystals used mean you get more through just having more crystals to open plus you get the rank rewards. But now the ladder rewards means any potential good items are not obtainable through that lone 300 unit spend, or 3,000 unit spend or indeed 10,000 unit spend as anything good was locked away in the realm event. So unless spent more more more the each crystal opened was not the same. And unless you are super super super lucky with the crystals, which almost no one was in normal quantities as they contained almost nothing useful.
Then add on to this whales who have already mopped up the realm ladder rewards, gotten those really awesome Rank 4 champions, can now rank 3 every champion in there roster as kabam have decided to retrospectively buff the event just for them, only for them because they acknowledge the crystal because the crystals were ‘unbalanced’. Well boohoo for whales who choose spend their money this way. Whale crystals are now essentially better than everyone else who opened crystals in the game. I don’t care if you open 1 crystal, 100 or 1million this is marketed as an RNG based event with equality of opportunity for all (not equal outcome just opportunity) and it should have remained that way.
Whales knew they were going to have "leftovers" and resources that will expire sooner or later and they decided to keep opening crystals, so I couldn't find a reason for this offer to exists other than keeping them happy.
As lovely as those 10 units deals would be, it’s not relevant to most of us as we don’t have 50 t6cc of every class in overflow along with 30+ t4a.
Crashed said it wasn’t a perfect fix but those spenders don’t deserve to have purchased rewards that they can’t use because of in game limitations.
People are complaining about an equality issue but in all honesty, I’m not personally concerned I don’t get those deals when I only spent £40 which is hardly enough to keep the game alive.
So the more you have the less you pay. Great reflection of the real world
There’s going to be differing opinions on this, I guess people just want to be treated the same…
I don't care about being able to access the catalyst for 10 units. I care about being fed **** crystals with a made up excuse of why they were bad. The consequences of this crystals being bad should be the same for everyone.
This is a fair summation of one of my main thoughts on the issue. It’s one thing to admit the crystals were bad, but the next step should be admitting the bailouts were bad too.
I’m glad the 10ish mega whales were able to fully rank 3 every single 7 star in the game in addition to having 3-5 rank 4 7 stars with that special offer. It keeps the gap from getting too far. So glad the crystals were rebalanced for them but not for anybody else. Healthy and fair for the game. Keeps the gap from getting too wide.
I’m 18 and only have 1 7 star r4. And no, not able to rank 3 all my 7 stars either. You guys have a right to put the blame and I’m not against it but setting the bar so high like this is an illusion. I only have 57 R3s. With this offer you could R2 many heroes but those crystals don’t give you enough to r3 all your 7 stars.
oh nooo, the handful of players who spent $20k+ get to use their extremely valuable t5c and t6cc! oh the humanity!
what's going to happen to all the *checks inventory* non-expiring resources in my stash?? since their crystal was rebalanced after the fact, it's only fair that we get it too, so kabam needs to rebalance the tires on my car and if they don't i promise i won't shovel them money as fast as i do every year while complaining about how awful their events are! goodness gracious, we need a boycott and we need one to finally work after the 50th time! i am so sad and angry, what will i do with my life if i can't criticize a game that i already play 24/7???

Man… I really question your ability to read and comprehend constructive feedback. But I guess it’s more fun to build inaccurate straw men and pretend that you’re the lone sane person in a room full of crazies.
In my opinion, it’s fine. But I also think it makes a mockery of all of the “sanctity of the Contest” and “preserve the balance” nonsense that gets spewed every time these big spend events occur.
It would also be nice to know at what spend level these “VIP” deals become available.
Dr. Zola
It actually has everything to do with the preserve the balance nonsense.
The crystals were designed to offer a bit more of the higher tier catalysts than you’d ordinarily expect and ordinarily are harder to get for the vast majority of players. That’s makes them more valuable for the vast majority of players who typically experience imbalances in the reverse direction: lots of lower cats but waiting for the higher ones.
This works up to a limit, but the ultra ultra mega whales blow past those limits, and then blow past the economic limits the game itself contains to even acquire any of that stuff. This places them permanently unable to use the vast majority of those catalysts, ever. This is an extreme corner case condition that no player is ever likely to experience, except for the largest whales in the largest spending event in the game.
Under those extreme circumstances, the only reasonable thing to do is to offer them a way to correct those imbalances that cannot be corrected in any other way by any resource management strategy. It makes perfect sense to me, and I would do exactly the same. I understand there are some people who think this goes against any idea of economic balance, but it is precisely economic balance principles I would have used myself to justify doing this if it were my decision to make.
I would also fully expect to entertain legitimate challenges to that thought process, and I would have no problems justifying them in game economic management terms.
I have no response for the emotional reaction and response, but that would not affect my decisions in this matter in the slightest.
First thing that comes to mind when I read this defense: Stockholm Syndrome.
Second thing: I think you are thoughtful, and I also think you try to be reasonable in your approach. Offering special dispensation to players who wind up with so many cats they cannot use them—presumably all adults, who have the capacity to understand the terms and conditions of the game—is understandable and defensible from a profitability perspective. I’ve played the game for a decade, and I’ve heard plenty of pieties about balance and sanctity. Ultimately, I believe money spent overrides all of that, and it’s fair to expect that to be the explicit subtext to any and all pieties expressed.
I think you understand that, whether you admit it or not.
Dr. Zola
Money itself is the balancing factor. Aside from the gross inequities that life has, like starving people and families below the poverty line, money is an inherent balancing factor. That has many imbalances within the overall, but it also means that not everyone has enough money to be dangerous. Let's be honest. There are some people I'm glad don't have an infinite disposable income. In any case, I have a tendency to wax philosophical. The main point I'm making is the game has some semblance of balance BECAUSE not everyone has that much money to spend on the game. Some do, and they can advance their Accounts accordingly. The number of people who are spending tens and hundreds of thousands of dollars on the game is sparce in comparison to the overall. Balance doesn't mean equal distribution.
I have to double back to this and clarify, I was going for a comparison here, but that's a horrible comparison. I don't consider the suffering of the world to be a balancing factor. I was more thinking of how I'm glad not everyone has enough money to hang themselves. I was on one here. My apologies.
Making a limited offer like this available to all was going to realistically result in maybe a handful more R2s and maybe an extra couple R3s for some. Minimal impact.
The class catalysts would have limited the rest of us and Kabam coulda hand a small W on their hands as this would not have helped us keep pace with the largest spenders but it would have shown fair treatment across the board in an effort to rebalance the SBCs pay outs.
+1 - it also would have stopped that gap from widening too much that they want to keep in check..or so I read.
We all had to endure those SBCs aka t6cc crystals.

Will not argue with players who have that many cats in overflow. They are also the victim of unbalanced SBC.
The lack of communication overall just says to me that Kabam lacks any backbone. They knew what they were doing and what the results would be, but too scared to communicate and continually gaslighting most of its player base. Enslaved to mega whales, rather than engage the whole community. Such a shame.

I don't think that's it at all. That would imply that they had been communicating before Banquet. The forums have been pretty absent from their presence, except for Crash.

No probably not; but I don't think it would have been a worse idea. I mean we are waiting on their analysis of data, and the very 1st thing we get is that it affected people who spent a lot and they managed to do a quick dirty fix in the background during their break... Feels like a kick in the teeth after being kicked in the groin

There could be just done it after they break and try to to find a solution that wasn’t as dirty as that’s since most cats is 30 days in stash that’s why the dirty fix for me is laugh

There are ways of handling a bad situation to make it better and there are ways to make it worse I have been very active about this horrible event; but i have also been advocating patience since they were on break. Reading an official post about the "dirty fix" during their break on a Saturday is enough evidence of how much of a F up this is, and what their priorities are. A lot of players waiting for some response and the only ones that get something are maybe 50 players?

The thing is this fix if it was alow for everyone or at least tb and above. It wouldn’t break much we wouldn’t had as much to rank op for we could just store op to max if we decided since it was there for 5 days last I checked.

i'm partly teasing. i get the why they're unhappy...spinning is FUN and gives a psychological payoff that guaranteed milestones don't and fun is important and players felt robbed of that.
i still mostly disagree with the outrage because we still "got paid" and paid relatively well, just not in the form we liked and we're generally blind to how the game works because if the event was the other way around we would be complaining about acceleration on the back end.
in general we're clueless. whatever they do we complain. too many rewards we complain, not enough we complain.
browse the forums...."hey kabam, i'm so sick of how outdated arena is, you should buff it"
ok, so they examine arena, find out we're making out like bandits, nerf it, then you'll get a ton of players crying about how much harder farming units is and how much of a slap to the face it is to the f2p community who has to spend all their waking time grinding arena.
kabam is definitely not always right, but we're clueless when it comes to economy and balance.
if the event was weighted differently the economy could be blown out, mid sized whales would start forming more max sig 7*s which means the sig stone, 7* shard, and titan shard economy would take a hit (and supply rarely gets shut off since we generally don't back down from new setpoints) which means in the big scheme of things players would be asking for more rank up related resources instead of shards and sigs which means they would accelerate ranks which would mean we'd cycle through 7*s faster which means 8*s come faster and then we'd make dozens of threads calling it the end of the game only because we didn't realize there's a finite amount of 7* pie before it runs out and they have to bake another.
i'm not a kabam shill, and far from an expert, but we blew past the milestones and the community did what it normally does, kick and scream while shoveling cash in kabam's pockets. i'm curious to see what the post-banquet write up will look up but filtering out all the noise i'm guessing it's far more successful than players are making it.
