After reading the long BG post and watching Seatin's perspective I was able to connect a few dots (I know i am surprised too 🤯). Kabam's strategy for a while has been retaining players, and the strategy is not based on retaining by making it fun, exciting or presenting something new. The strategy used and abused has been retaining by making the stick attached to the carrot longer. How? Sagas, don't expect anything new in a monthly bases. Not even new marvel movie events, special calendar events. No no, play for 3 months to complete a saga, want to buy a champ thru the track? Pay for it, you don't know much about the rework but if you pay for it you will get it in 3 months. How can a game feel exciting like this?
I don’t agree with paying for something you don’t know what will be. That’s why I waited until the Beta Ray deep dive to purchase it.
Dazzler was a good example of knowing what you’re getting.
Considering the fact he isn’t even finished tells you everything you need to know, and they expect me to pay? Nuh uh. We gonna have some issues if Cyclops isn’t good..
On the other hand, cyclops couldn't possibly be any worse than he already is either.
I absolutely love Seatin... But it feels like he only posts anymore when there is opportunity to garner the most views possible. I miss the old Seatin. Still appreciate that he is hopping in on this though.
He has a voice man, but whenever me or someone else with less status makes a post here then kabam defenders just be defying kabam.
Atleast with content creators in general they can say something and have a voice and say something that kabam will have to take notice
Like right now, it only took months of accumulation to get us where we at.
I been saying for last couple months we need changes in general, For months I have posted that we need change and updates throughout the game.
Sure it may have been seen on forums as I seen my post and people post on richthemans channel.
But now content creators are getting into it with there own videos and thoughts on current state of the game
I was just as disgusted with battleground changes and they didnt even bother updating rewards or milestones…
Believe me when I wanted to make a post here lol but the kabam forum defenders will just defend kabam again. But now we have bigger voices in the community finally saying something, but this is where it broke camels back.
Hopefully the game gets back on track because I know spenders will spend regardless and kabam Is just waiting for 4th of July deals and they will prob make a change to the game before then.
But for now current game state is very bad lol.
Game has been heavy on trying to sell everything but not update game rewards lol.
Especially when they want us to “pre order” light essensenin buying deals for a champion we don’t even know nothing about lol.

I liked Seatin’s take, it does the best job yet at describing all the neglect and silliness outside of BGs.
And if you watch KT1… he makes a good point about some of this too. Not all of this is earth shatteringly hard to address.
Like why, legitimately why do Valiant players have to EXPLORE Thronebreaker AQ to engage with the Paragauntlet? The only logical conclusion is to create false engagement metrics for TB EQ so Kabam could drag out the bare minimum for longer… there is no good reason for that practice to continue, and it’s just moving a fake ticket from an objective to a mailbox, or mailing valiant players the objective completion point, it’s not rocket science and it should have been done months ago.

Great video. I agree with a lot of it, some of it I don't, but I always appreciate Seatin's perspective.
Just out of curiosity, what points do you notably agree/disagree with? You obviously don't need to (and shouldn't) call Seatin out, but I feel providing some more detail will help generate some more constructive debate and also ensure that the playerbase's points are actually being taken into consideration.

It would take a full post/video the length of his to share my thoughts, but at a high level what I agree with:
Monthly content being way behind where it needs to be
Rewards and objectives not being communicated well and getting lost in the UI
Feeling lost in Sagas
Bad Battlegrounds matchmaking experience for large groups of players
The knowledge and skill requirements to play at the highest level are insane
General lack of desire to chase new champions
The knowledge and skill point aside, we thankfully have work ongoing to address all of the other points.
I would say the main thing I disagree with is his assessment of some of the content he talks about, especially story content. We have some user research for instance that says most end-game players enjoy Act 8, whereas he doesn't seem to.

It's honestly pathetic how you find a way to insert "yourself" into every topic even when it doesn't matter.

This is interesting. Is the user research that says end-game players enjoy act 8 the surveys you send out? Or another way? It’s curious to see how you know players enjoy content.

FWIW - think Act 8 was some of my favorite content because of weapon nodes.
Defender has the weapon - not good Perform an action to disarm Perform an action while they are disarmed, get the weapon and start melting the opponent.
The sense of reward for executing the sequence + the satisfaction of the payoff was great.

the general lack of desire to chase new champs is definitely an issue because my only hope these days is being able to play with some of the good champs from the past like kingpin, scorpion, and hulkling.
some of them are too broken to ask for like kate and CGR, but only remembering the past is not a good sign.
you guys have done very well with the game, but it's so big and difficult to balance now. what happens if the community gets those champs again and complain anyway?
hope you guys work your magic and stretch this game out for another 10 years.

We do surveys and focus groups.
Oh yeah because surveys are accurate. Stupid just like I said

Look, if you're going to contribute something to the conversation, by all means. Otherwise you're just bringing the average down. It's clear why your comments have been moderated if you're talking like this.

I agree with this reply in its totality. Act 8.3-9.1 is some of my favorite content in the game. 3 paths (love this change compared to 6ish paths that dragged in previous acts), with some great and memorable boss fights at the end. I loved the node combos (for the most part with some exceptions).
I’m glad the team is aware of the other points seatin raised, because they are important and represent a wide swath of the community in my opinion, not just end game players.
