Someone sabotaged the game. How is it possible that the maps just mistakenly have an extra node 😂 I would think that takes quiet a bit of work on someone’s part
It definitely can happen. What it looks like happened here was that this was changed when the Sentinels were added to the Map, but only on this iteration (there are 3 iterations, one for each mini boss) of Map 5. So, this could have come up last week, or it could have come up next, but it just happened to come around this time.
So why wasn’t it picked up in testing, it seems like a pretty big thing to miss. I don’t get how something like this slipped by the entire game team.
You think they actually tested the new AQ?! Had they, we wouldn’t have gotten BS statements about it not being more difficult.
Its all turning into a item use game to finish anything now sentinals have ruined AQ now a extra node in map 5 wont be long now already lost alot of members!
As far as I know, the following statements will not break any rules. It would be nice to have a moderator notice this post and respond.
The statement from earlier, paraphrasing, that bugs are not fixed in an equally timely manner respectively of who the bug affects has been proven true several times over. Examples for long-standing bugs that affect the player base are numerous and well known, such as the Captain Marvel sp2 bug. Bugs that affect the players in a positive way, like the AQ l reward that awarded tens of millions of gold we're rectified within an hour.
The problem is, while MOST of the player base fully understand that this game is a service, owned by a business, we feel alienated by changes that are constantly to our detriment. I speak for a large amount of players when I say that I don't mind more of a challenge; the game is fun, and we don't want it to become stale. The problem is twofold. First, the degree of difficulty has risen drastically in AQ, which would be a great thing if AQ rewards also increased. They haven't, therefore we put in more work for the same rewards. Understandably, Kabam is trying to increase the longevity of the game by making rare resources increasingly rare. Still doesn't make it right.
The second, and from my perspective most important problem, is communication. Don't get me wrong, I am not bashing the moderators. It's a largely thankless job, and I don't envy them. The communication breakdown is between the powers that be communicating with said moderators to be their medium on the forums. It's incredibly frustrating to bring a problem to light, get hundreds of responses, and not have a moderator respond. It gets lost in the fervor that maybe mods don't respond because they don't have the answer. I don't know exactly how the moderators work, but I'd venture to guess that none of them are on the ground floor at Kabam. Just something to keep in mind.
So we’re going on what, three days now after this was discovered and nothing has been addressed or changed, and kabam is radio silent. I cannot fathom who is in charge over there or why they still have a job to be honest. In the past, even the slightest issue with the start of an AQ week on kabams end meant they would address it at the minimum with some kind of in game mail, reduced timers, cost free maps, literally anything compared to this time. Heck I remember getting in game items just for emergency maintenance when the servers would go down. Instead we get a really insulting and bad offer on outdated gold crystals and that’s it? No wonder so many alliances are quitting and fracturing or retiring down to map 2&3. Mine is thinking about it too.

Kabaam has already stated they have no intention of addressing this during this iteration of AQ. And they stopped giving out compensation for their mistakes long ago. That's the way they operate

during this AQ series* it'll be fixed next time AQ comes around
If you guys are worried that one extra node there is gonna cause y’all not to be able to finish AQ then your alliance has bigger issues. Take a chill pill and let them fix this.
I hope I'm not mistaken, but if memory serves me correct, you're the one spearheading Mcoc knowledge in the Chinese community(I recall reading one of your posts last year asking for some support from Kabam). I'm not part of that community, but I do applaud and respect your efforts but must frown on this comment.
It's my belief that the underlying issue isn't so much about 1 added node to the map. Personally, kabam could revamp the entire game, make every quest have a fee charged in order to enter, nerf every champ on my roster, and I would accept it graciously as I could....... As long as they did it honestly and ethically and made no excuses and contradicting statements that appear to deflect responsibility for mistakes and I would hope that is the same for the majority of the players. Intentional or not, however insignificant it may seem to some, an error is an error and the paying/playing consumer base has every right to express their grievances.
This is the same consumer base that patronize your youtube channel and seek your advice and expertise. "Your alliance has bigger issues" and "Take a chill pill" is IMO a very poor choice of words in a situation like this.
You are absolutely correct and thank you for remembering a small player like me. The existence of that extra node was brought to my attention by members in my LINE group. I wasn’t aware because I was doing Map 6 on day 1 so I came here looking for answers and as far as I’m concerned, responses from the mods were sufficient enough for me to reply to my fellow players so the case as far as we as a group is concerned is closed. We initially thought it was a new Sentinel being added because the screenshot was a bit confusing but it turns out to be an empty node.
No one from my group as far as I know thinks it’s a big deal. As for my response which you felt was poor, that’s how I feel and I stand by what I’ve posted. An alliance which is worried about one empty node clearly has far bigger issues and from what I’ve seen in comments from certain individuals, I added the “chill pill” remarks. Now if you’re offended, my sincere apologies but I stand by what I’ve said.
@Wolfe, its been so long since we played Map5(we don't even run map4 regularly anymore LoL). I found out about it here when I got bored and wanted to "catch up" on the latest "goings on", and it's good to hear that your group isn't negatively affected by the error(bug, glitch, ghost programming, whatever its supposed to be), and no I wasn't offended at all by your statement and wasn't implying you should retract or apologize for the choice of words, just stating my personal feeling that it was a bad choice considering the situation as a whole.
I tend to make judgments based on track record, like grades in school(for all you students out there hehe). If I were to consider this "event" unique, I would agree that the response was sufficient and honestly the extra node isn't a life changing mistake and would think no more of it. Unfortunately its not and IMO, its another repeat of the same scenario. And if you got four F's on exams previously, an A this time is still going to get you an F avg, maybe F+.
Although long ago I once was a network engineer(telephony multiplexing), I'm not a software engineer/developer/game designer what have you. So it's safe to say I don't know how things like this and many others before it could "just happen". And in Kabams defense, there is actually one way this can happen and that's if the games design was created with the task of generating/creating the map and node layouts "automatically. But then if it were, there is no explanation why Kabam has no idea what happened. See where I'm getting at here?
Anyhow, good luck to you and I hope your community keeps growing!
PS: yes we haven't ran map5 in quite some time and these days we might run 3 maps per event but rarely even run Map4(treasury donations is a pain) so not affected by this at all. We're a semi retired group just hanging out cause we've been a group for just under 3yrs now and our ally strength was "OK" in our prime, so I have a little experience. ;-)
My alliance runs map 5 almost exclusively. While the extra node isn’t a big impact it speaks to the carelessness of Kabam. How does an extra node just magically appear in the first place?!?
