I'm not defending them in that aspect. But we should know enough now that no champ shouldn't ever not die. That should be a red flag for everyone. Should they communicate, yes they probably should. But we should know not to take advantage of it as well. If it happened once by accident and you dont do it again, allgoid, but if you keep going and using it, that's where the trouble starts.

I'm not convinced it is a matter of not being aware. The description is clear. It's not working as intended. What happens is people spread word like wildfire and others scramble to get Rewards while they can. That's on them.
