Feeling frustrated and I need advice

I have a roster of 4 Stars at rank 5:

Corvus
Hyperion
Scarlet Witch
Dr. Voodoo
Wolverine

I just spend about 450 units in Act 5.2.4.
I see people breeze through this chapter with 4 Stars at rank 4 or lower and now I’m wondering the following:

1. Am I really that bad at this game or are the YouTubers just really good? If I suck, honestly how can I get better? I’ve really studied but maybe this is the cap of my skill for this game.
2. I have sufficient units stored for finishing Chapter 2 and becoming Uncollected... but is it worth it? If I’m struggling this bad, I probably won’t be able to survive more than Chapter 1 of the Uncollected Monthly Event Quest.
3. If I become Uncollected, are the login crystals and daily crystals really going to help advance my roster exponentially?

Looking for constructive advice rather than the “You suck, I became Uncollected with 1 Stars” comments.

Also, I’d love to hear from someone at my skill level what they did.

Which champions exactly did you struggle against? Maybe you need to pick a different path... and did you take the role reversal node into account?

Sometimes it might be better to take a rank 4 champ over a rank 5 if he/she is better suited against certain enemies you're fighting.

Believe me I spent 300 units of 5.2.4 and then two days later I got 5.2.6 done in 140 units. Don't be disheartened by your recent loss, push for uncollected and any player can fully explore the first chapter of uncollected EQ. That should be a boost to your rewards. So don't think man! Go for that son of a gun

    1. It’s a difficult level, I was stuck on that one for a bit before I was UC. I just kept practicing against the first champ until I got thru him with ease.
2 And 3. It’s worth it because the crystals for UC add up and you’ll get rank up materials for your five stars to help you in UC monthly.

It will take patience and practice but you’ll get it in no time

It really comes down to studying the nodes and strategizing around it. I can’t quite remember what nodes are on 5.2.4 but for masochism try to use champs that don’t rely on debuffs and try intercepting more. Against buffet try not to evade much or use buffing champs. Bane you should practice timing on the degen transfer. It al comes down to practice and it’s very rare that someone just picks up the game and is an expert. Dorky Dave has some great videos on tips for beginners and how to intercept like a ninja. I would just try to watch some beginner videos on how to do certain things and then practice in content that won’t be overly punishing, maybe in heroic EQ or duels. Hang in there and practice and you’ll get there. Best of luck to you.

    1) if your intercept skills aren't up to snuff, work on them. you can literally become a master just running 3 stars in the Normal EQs, while collecting rewards. This constitutes "gitting gud."
    2) I reference intercept skills since I can only assume the 450 units were for revives and assorted potions. 5/50 duped Wolvie should have saved you a ton of potions and been used as your lane clearer.
    3) your champs are fine. for your skill level you really should have a few 5* 3/45s and higher. The Challenge Rating difference between a 5/50 and a 3/45 is much greater a factor than you'd think, especially if you're banking on buffs to pop up.
    4) even a middling UC should be able to finish chapter 1 of every monthly EQ, which hands out a 4 star champ. That's one more 4 star you wouldn't be getting otherwise.

I did UC years ago with essentially the same champs, the difference being I had a 3/45 X23 to clear paths. Spent exactly 100 units for a teamrevive against Collector, and that was that. You have the champs, just work on not relying on parry and giving away chip damage. Good luck.

Youtubers post videos for a reason. Very rarely will they post a video of poor fighting. Popular videos always have some reason behind being popular. Remember that. Strive to fight like them, but itll almost never be as easy as they make it seem

Your doing great! and are roughly where I was in spending units.
Personally I found 5.2.5 the hardest and most costly and 5.2.6 was a breeze in terms of units.
Is it worth doing? Well "Yes", The login and daily crystals are helpful for basic catas and CC (although a small amount is given they all add up)
As for the EQ and taken in mind that I only became uncollected 2 months ago..Its easy to 100% the first 2 chapters which give you a great amount of 4*/5*/6* shards.. as for the final chapter, well its down to your roster and that particular boss nodes and if you can even just one run each part its worth it.
As for skill, dont put yourself down (you've come further than alot) and in all honestly I still suck at certain points - Intercepting" im lookin at you!
So "yeah" your doing great and its worth the investment *Pat on the back*

5.2.4 is the worst. I got mad and plowed through spending several hundred units. Then I got discouraged and waited awhile before attempting 5.2.6, and I wound up breezing through the Collector with a charged up and boosted up Corvus (used maybe 10-12 revives). You got this!

5.2.4 was painful for most of us first time through, there is no shame in that. Keep pushing. You want to get Uncollected as soon as you reasonably can.

The monthly uncollected event is also one of the best sources of rank up materials and shards in the game to improve your roster.

We've all been there. You can do it!

5.2.4 is hard. Avoid the middle paths with magik and DS for now.

Masochism is a pretty tough node. Especially for people that rely on parry. The best way around it is to constantly bait L1 and punish. You should be able to keep that cycle going for several combos until you will have to block or parry again.

I'll b totally honest, I spent my way to uncollected and I came back to finish act 5 with a team of r4 5*'s. Not the answer u want to hear in that situation but I waited until I was strong enough to make it easy

Am I really that bad at this game or are the YouTubers just really good?

Probably yes. You have to remember that first of all there are all kinds of players of varying skill levels, and the range of intrinsic skill is huge. There are lots of players better than you and worse than you. Second of all, the people who struggle more than average probably don't decide to start Youtube channels showing off their MCOC struggles. And third, the people who make Youtube videos of gameplay are far more likely to be spending more time playing the game than the average person.

So you're comparing yourself to people who by luck of the draw happen to be better MCOC players than average, and putting in probably several times more play time than you. They are bound to perform better than most of their viewers.

I struggled through Act 5.2. Not sure if I did to the same extent you did, but I did struggle when it first came out. I got better with a lot of practice. I think if you can get to the Collector and beat him with any reasonable amount of potions and units, you should go for it. Then take a step back and work on building up your skills and roster. Gaining access to uncollected crystals and the uncollected difficulty (which in my opinion is not as hard as becoming uncollected in the first place: YMMV) is worth the initial expense. But it is not worth pushing to complete Act 5 or fully explore it if it is costing you a lot of resources. That's where you take a break and work on building up.
