Champs are getting way too complicated.. yes you Ebony Maw

I have read the abilities for Ebony Maw like 5 times now... way too much to remember. I don’t even fully understand it TBH. I don’t mind having to practice and gets reps in against a new champ.... but this is insane.
As an alliance officer, it is going to be hard to get 30 team members knowing abilities like Maw’s stream of conscious during war. I have defeated him a bunch of times in uncollected and still don’t fully get what is happening (Just intercepting with Hyperion’s L1 again and again... sometimes it goes through him... sometimes it doesn’t).
Kabam... If you feel you made Corvus or Ghost too strong, simply give rank down tickets and adjust them.... don’t create mega complicated defensive champs just to mess with them specifically

Its a cycle, Mystic champs and villains where the thing, then came blade. Then they stopped putting villain tags on character who where obviously villains, as well as the lack of mystics.(Because apparently there are not many mystical characters in marvel...) Right now they're countering the big guaranteed crit champs like ghost and Corvus, with champs like Mister Sinister and now Ebony Maw. But really Corvus cant hit him at all, not even basic hits? Id have thought specials that had guarantee crit will miss would be enough.
"If the opponent doesn't have class advantage, Ebony maw causes all guaranteed critical hits to miss"
I dont know any science champions with guaranteed crits, apart from MODOKs every 7 hits.
Might have well just put in the description "good luck Corvus and ghost"...
Having Corvus or Ghost has diminished the difficulty of game considerably. Expect to see a lot more champs who have some sort of ability against guaranteed crits in the future. Whether they can auto glance the damage down to negligible levels, reflect the damage, copy the abilities of Sinister/Maw, or worse.
I'm expecting to see more Corvus/Ghost is overrated posts in the near future just like we saw with Blade when the meta shifted away from him.
It's capitalism at it's finiest...
1. Create a cool product
2. Market cool product
3. Sales plateau
4. Create game mechanic to increase revenue (masteries, stoney cores, carb cores, boosts, high damage champs, perfect block teams, synergies, etc)
5. Market said game mechanic to drive up demand and increase revenue
6. Create hard counter to new game mechanic when income plateaus
7. Create new game mechanic to try and increase revenue again
8. Repeat ad infinitum or until a majority of the player base just can't handle the complexity and quits in frustration.
With Ebony Maw's abilities, we're about to Step 8 in this process.
- there’s a counter on you that counts up gradually once he becomes focused
- once that counter reaches 20, your next hit is a guaranteed crit that will miss and fulfill one of his missions
- Once you hit 15-16, the game will notify you that you are “approaching falter”, once faltered you’re next hit is guaranteed crit
- Upon EM completing a mission, you’ll get faltered and all attackers will miss as long as you have the falter passive on you (+ degen). So just wait it out.
- Using heavy on him will remove his focus and get him to go into cooldown
Besides that he’s not too tough as the boss since it’s only 29-30k, and his health pool seems to be as small as Spark’s.
1) you can only parry stun his 1st light attack
2) don't use corvus/ghost against him
3) use a heavy attack on him every now and then to break his focus
4) if I happen to falter, don't attack for 3 seconds
5) you can block the throwing stones part of his sp2 even if unblockable
Everything else I don't think is important unless someone can give me insight.
