As others have said, it’s currency capped. Main reason is to prevent hoarding so that people don’t have absurd amounts of elder marks when special battleground events happen like that cap commissary or realm event.

For me the last bit is important, i just find his rampup slow against less ideal champs. And with ideal champs it can still be pretty annoying to play against if the debuff is long. For me the only frustrating ones were dust (lag), annihilus (just hate the defender in general), manthing, northstar and bullseye. The rest were fairly easy.

Previously they’ve extended it because there was usually content released in between. Mainly AW show cases. However this time the show case was released a week early so there isn’t really a reason to have a break unless they’re planning to drop a new content tomorrow.

This post is pointless because paragon gauntlet doesn’t need a buff, a entirely new level is more needed.
