Battlegrounds: Non-competitive mode?

Sorry if this is explained somewhere.
Do we know, whether there will be an option to play against a friend like we do in incursions. From the reviews of content creators, after spending 30 energy (which I hope they will change), you cue up for a match with a random opponent.
I am very excited and hopefully, it will be great addition to the game.
But at the same time, since they started teasing about this mode couple years ago and watching summoner showdowns which has a similar format, I was hoping I could sit next to my friends and play them as well.
Obviously these should not count towards to competitive rankings or give rewards (or perhaps different rewards even something like a betting system with a different in-game currency, something that wouldn't break the game or something people can take advantage of)

Edit :- Friendly matches shouldn't reward anything but at the same time , should take either less or no energy to play with our friends and also the cooldown of champs used in a friendly battle should not impact the champ in competitive mode.
Keep the two different and rewards can only be earned from competitive and I am up for it.
What would happen to your entry costs (energy) and costs for refreshing champs if this were to happen in the battlegrounds?
Basically, my hopes are high that this isn’t going to be the same when it comes out for everyone.
Battlegrounds and Incursions are different in that bg is a competitive mode while incursions is a cooperative mode. Someone withdrawing from incursions screws it up for both players because neither can advance or earn rewards, but the logical obvious thing to do when someone quits in battlegrounds is to hand the other person a win. So assuming the live version of battlegrounds continues this pattern, having your match partner quit in battlegrounds is not as problematic as it is in incursions.
On top of monthly eq's and side quests that cost energy that is absurd
