Best Of
Loyalty
The letdown? It stings like a perfectly timed Bullseye dart. Maybe it’s the grind that feels like running a marathon in quicksand, with new champs like Arcade or Terrax (yep, you’ve tackled their counters too) demanding counters that require a PhD in game mechanics. Or perhaps it’s the monetization that’s gone from “pay to progress” to “pay to maybe not cry.” Events like Enchantress battles (you’ve been there) promise glory but deliver headaches unless you’ve got the exact right champ or a credit card on speed dial. Ten years in, you’d think Kabam would roll out a red carpet—maybe a “Loyalty Hall of Fame” with exclusive rewards for veterans like you—instead of another bundle that costs as much as a car payment.
The sarcasm practically writes itself: “Congrats, champ! A decade of loyalty earns you… a 3-star crystal and our heartfelt thoughts and prayers!” Meanwhile, new players waltz in, snag beginner deals, and pull 6-stars while you’re still praying for a 7-star from a featured crystal that’s statistically stingier than a dragon guarding its hoard. The game’s meta shifts faster than a soap opera plot, leaving your once-mighty roster feeling like a museum exhibit. And don’t get me started on the bugs or server hiccups that make you wonder if the Contest is secretly powered by a hamster on a wheel.
But here’s the thing—you’re not just venting; you want change. So, Kabam, listen up: reward the OGs like this player who’s been with you since smartphones were a novelty. How about a loyalty program that actually means something? Think tiered rewards for years played—exclusive 7-star selectors, unique titles, or even a custom champion designed by the community. Make veteran accounts feel like they’re part of an elite club, not just a cash machine. Streamline the grind—less RNG, more skill-based paths to glory. And maybe, just maybe, fix the communication so we
know what’s coming without needing a crystal ball.
poured a decade of heart, time, and money into Marvel Contest of Champions, and that deserves more than a shrug. Keep fighting, loyalty’s a badge of honor, and it’s high time the game matched passion with some real love

Re: Business model is to make F2P?
”Trust debt” well said! Ya, agreed. Ultimately that’s my issue is the trust thing, because trust is a very valuable currency especially for customers who give their currencies
Re: Business model is to make F2P?
How is the player retention program going?
Cause I am seeing a big mixture of old time forum members and a lot of new ones disgusted at the game....
Re: BG matchmaking is broken
Lack of people playing, and the changes implemented for higher tiers. If they can't find a match for an X ammount of time it makes the matchmaking search broader. Which means you become their unlucky punching bag.
Re: Revenue declined
One thing I find really interesting is how they completely alienated casual spenders. Instead, they have focused on huge offers (at least) 4 times a year where not going "all in" makes no sense and is not fun. I've never been a whale, but did spend casually for years. I'm sure I'm not alone. I would have the sigil, the unit card and buy a few offers on the 4th and cyber weekend. July 4th, 2023 was the nail in the coffin for me spending on the big events. Eventually I dropped the sigil. Then the unit card. And haven't even paid for the last few double track events. There is literally no point to spending if you aren't at the very top, even if you are just trying to have fun. They've grown the gap so much that I simply don't care about keeping up or even trying to be competitive - I have just slowing been fading away for years now.
Something within their data suggested to just focus on high spenders, but that seems to now be backfiring. Lot of sayings come to mind…like reaping what you sow.
Or my favorite, which I have used here before: "Pigs get fat. Hogs get slaughtered." Guess which one you have become Kabam?
On a more "devil's advocate" note...
Let me tell you, there are mechanics WAY more confusing than a 30% AAR... And idc about her being nerfed defensively but removing a CORE mechanic of her utility?... Yeah, something's fishy.
This has been the worst month in this game in a WHILE... bad job, Kabam.
Re: Game balance hypocrisy
Can’t Kabam release a fully tested and finished character? Don’t they know their own game? Don’t they realize the impact of their characters? People are spending hundreds or even thousands of dollars to get them on release, only for Kabam to keep making random changes left and right. It’s ridiculous, they’ve already run out the community’s patience.
We’ve been asking for adjustments to make the game better, but u keep ignoring the community. You’re destroying the game, that’s why the revenue is dropping. Is the end near? Everything seems to indicate yes. LOL. All because of your greed, it seems like there are no capable or professional people behind directing the game. It’s falling apart and doesn’t seem to be heading in a good direction.
Re: Spider-woman balance update
NO NOT KAROLINA I RANKED HER BECAUSE OF HOW BUSED SHE WAS DONT SAY THAT TO ME
Re: Just end the rebalance program already.
it’s a lot easier to understand the rebalance program when you accept it has nothing to do with game balance and everything to do with Kabam having an excuse to mess with champs as needed to drive future sales.
for example, you can’t have a champ that is the best counter for the future defender being released in a few months…. They need to sell the best counter a month or two later. They also need you to waste resources on rank ups that get nerfed so that you feel the need to go get more materials for some other rank up. And on and on. The rebalance program has zero pro player attributes, which is why they will never end it.
Re: Spider-woman balance update
The balance program should have been abolished earlier this year when they said all buffs and nerfs will happen ever 6 months.
I'm sorry but if you give someone a toy and let them play with it for 6 months, you don't get to take it back to trade for something worse. If a champ is bugged, fix them right away. If they aren't working as described fix within 2 months max. Buff a champ? Sure, whenever is good and surprise us with great news. Need to nerf a champ? Don't! You haven't nerfed a champ in ages now. You didn't nerf OP champs like serpent ( dual threat), onslaught (dual threat), enchantress (op defender) so let the idea of a need go. You, as a dev team should learn from your mistakes and not make the same mistakes (like not testing enough to be sure) in the future.
At this point I think we, the players need a global boycott. Not from spending but just take a single day and don't play. Show kabam what it will look like when the player base is all gone. Because that's where we are going with the past 3 months of "updates."
I vote we all skip playing this Sunday.
