Full April 2025 EQ Script
1.1
Narrator: Responding to an urgent call, the summoner heads to a seemingly unremarkable steel door within the side of an asteroid. The door opens wide, revealing a darkened warehouse space filled with curiosities and oddities from across the multiverse
BWDO: It's a lot to take in huh? Some left overs from when we stopped that heist in the collector's vaults*
*Editors note: September 2024 EQ - Lupus in fabula - where the collector's ship was overrun with villains
BWDO: I was given access to these artifacts so I could maybe learn a little more about possible battlerealm threats. I've gotten bits and pieces of intel. That crystal menace, Isophyne? She's been piecing herself back together for a while.
Narrator: Black Widow tosses down a slab of inert iso-8. It contains complex and beautiful carvings of symbols, creatures, and ships. At the center of it all, surrounded by strange text and curious runes, is the clear shape of Isophyne
BWDO: Do you know how long it takes for iso-8 to lose it's power? Suns burn out faster. Whoever this is, they've been here for an eternity. There's more carvings but it'll take time to translate what's on them... so I'm going to need someone to buy us that time. We could have started this earlier if "the collector" chose the name "the museum curator" and actually organized the stuff properly. What sort of monster just collects a bunch of super hero trash to put on a shelf and never touch it again? But here's my worry, and it's a big one.
Narrator: Widow tosses down another Iso-slab. An image if Isophyne is surrounded by many other figures with the same runic markings,
BWDO: That thing isn't alone. We may have managed to fight one off but I don't know what we'll do against a whole army. We don't know who to trust, we've got an enemy we've never even met, and a multiverse of troubles at our doorstep. I need backup I can rely on. So I've called in someone who knows a thing or two about secrets.
Narrator: A figure steps out of the shadows...
Jessica Drew (Spider-Woman): Happy to help unravel things Nat.
BWDO: Summoner, if you've never heard of Jessica's work then that just shows how much of a top tier super spy she is. very discreet.
JD: Easy on the hyperbole, but yes I've crossed double crossed and tragic backstoried with the best of them. Nearly took down Nick Fury once or twice...if you're looking for resume builders.
BWDO: Almost destroying Fury is practically the S.H.I.E.L.D entrance exam. I trust her so you can too.
JD: What's on the docket for today? Keep intel out of our enemy hands and find someone who reads ancient gibberish?
BWDO: That's the hope. If we're in the business of tossing hopes around
Narrator: Further conversation is cut short as one of the walls of the base explode inward and an armored foe enters.
Iron Patriot: Dangit...My scanners said you'd be standing right next to the blast. That'll teach me to trust old inferior Stark tech. Won't make the same mistake twice. The next explosion will be pure Osborn science.
JD: Oh something named Osborn will be blowing up. We'll make sure of it.
BWDO: Care to explain yourself before the three of us open that tin can and pour the rancid contents out?
IP: Trios are exactly why I'm here. A bit of triangulation helped to track down the summoner's stash. Between the power of the artifacts, a sighting of the summoner, and the unique Iso displacement of a New York arrival... It wasn't rocket science to pinpoint this treasure trove of resources. It however did involve geometry and cartography.
BWDO: Let me guess, you're here on behalf of Maestro to keep his villains powered up as they rush into a self destructive battle with the Eidols.
IP: I merged corporate interests with Banner, our views are aligned, he is a scientists and I'm something of a scientist myself.
JD: I like you better when you are in your green monster mask. It makes your outside match your inside.
IP: When I'm done unleashing my arsenal on you, no one will be able to tell your insides from your outsides.
BWDO: This is getting less "super-villainy" and leaning towards "Dark Threats". Summoner, speed this conversation along.
1.2
Narrator: Iron Patriot is knocked out and just to be sure, widow removes the power-core from his suit.
BWDO: Let's take the batteries out of his little toys then gather our own collectables and get moving.
JD: Secondary location? Safehouse? Underground bunker below the bunker? What's the plan?
BWDO: If we are compromised we've got to get mobile. I have a quinjet set up with a lab inside to keep cracking the code on these runes. Whatever info we can get is going to be one more weapon in our holsters.
JD: So has the Summoner spilled the beans about imposters and odd goings on?
BWDO: They don't talk much.. Do you mean the weirdness in Wakanda*?
*Editor's note: Strange constructs of champions were spotted in Wakanda during the Jan 2025 - precious metal - EQ
JD: If the most trusted protector of a king can be compromised, it's pretty bad news on the already shaky "who can you trust" front. How do we check who's who? X-Rays? Metal detectors? Blood samples we poke with a hot wire to see if it becomes a monster?
BWDO: Went from vague to super specific there, but I have a feeling that two trained spies can detect deception just fine.
JD: That is if we assume we are both who we say we are...
Narrator: There is an uneasy tension in the air and the group make4 their way to the hanger in silence. They are greated at the gate by a panicked Captain Marvel
CMM: Black Widow, SPider Woman, Summoner, thank goodness you are here! I was so worried about you two and I need your help.
BWDO: Jess, you thinking what I'm thinking?
JD: Absolutely.
Narrator: Spider Woman doesn't waste another second and firmly lands a hit into captain marvel's torso that sends her flying across the hanger.
JD: ..You were also thinking that she was an imposter, right? Because otherwise I really didn't read the room here.
Narrator: Captain Marvel gets up off the floor, their expression is oddly one of pure joy.
CMM?: Ohhhh we have a few clever ones in our midst do we? What gave it away? The walk, the voice, the syntax of my pleas for help.
JD: Vibes. General vibes really. Our friend can be subtle and there's nuances you're absolutely lacking.
CMM?: You risked collapsing your friend's ribcage on "vibes"? I respect the brutality and apologize for my performance.
BWDO: So you're a shape-shifter? A power stealer? What are we working with here?
CMM?: I'm a puppeteer. I'm far from here, but I'm always watching the show. I do admit I'm tired of these simple games however.
JD: Feel free to pack the circus up then. We've got enough clowns around here to deal with.
CMM?: No, no, still a bit more fun to be had before you all take one big final bow.
JD: Are you at least going to sign your work? Let us know the name of this great performer so we can tell your twisted tale?
CMM?: I have been called a few things... The Final Light, The Shining Assasin, The Hungry Smile. However my founders dubbed me Lumatrix. Though I simply can't imagine who you'd tell all that to. Since you're not leaving here alive.
BWDO: You've got Carol's form but I doubt you have her abilities.
Narrator: A blast of light erupts from the copy-captain's fist and turns one of the quinjets in the hanger into a pile of ash.
JD: ...Her powers are energy based and your light powers are pretty comparable, yeah, that tracks.
CMM?: I've been known to trip the light fantastic. Shall I dazzle you with a display of my alluring and illuminatting influence?
JD: God if it stops you from talking then sure. Let's fight about it.
2.1
Narrator: Meanwhile, in a pocket dimension within a multiversal rift, powerful beings observe the battles of the contest
Isophene: I have...concerns. I fail to see how this amusement of yours serves the founders. What is your goal?
A shape steps forwards. A being which starts only as a sinister grin then takes solid form within the shadows.
Lumatrix: In a word? Chaos. Beautiful cascading destruction and mayhem. A toppling tower sent into motion by my machinations.
Isophene: That does not ensure that the power of this realm is nurtured and given to the founders. It does not remove threats.
Lumatrix: Given enough time and enough devastation, there could be room for all our missions to see fruition.
Isophene: The controlling one, the one they call summoner. You play with them when you should be destroying them.
Lumatrix: Just as you destroyed them when you had your chance? I was so heartbroken to see you experience such a crushing failure.
Isophene: I did not fail...I simply did not succed at that moment. It was not the will of the founders.
Lumatrix: Oh, yes. The great and wise founders. Hail and Praise them. Surely my mischief must be their will as well.
Isophene: I am merely trying to state that you do not need to make these creatures suffer and writhe for your amusement.
Lumatrix: Oh I know, That's what makes it all the more beautiful, they dance, and spin, and cry out with a symphony of suffering.
Isophene: Our priority is to ensure this realm is protected. We shall keep it's power intact and it's resources plentiful for the founder's return.
Lumatrix: Of course, all polished, trimmed, and sparkling. With the faint echoes of wonderous torture lingering in the air like a sweet perfume.
Isophene: I am uncertain of the sensation you elicit from me. I am trying to form the word for it.
Lumatrix: Shall I supply a list to choose from? Addoration, cherishing, delight, idolization, reverence...worship?
Isophene: Disgust. I find your joy over the destruction of this realm's infestation disgusting. Efficiently accomplish your tasks without emotion.
Lumatrix: Do not judge me for finding pride in my work. I am only as our founders made me, nothing more. Now I must refocus on my little puppets, there's still more joyful tasks awaiting.
Narrator: Back in a hidden hanger within the battlerealm, the two spies continue their work to gather intel and sort fact from fiction.
Jessica Drew: Okay I've tapped into every underground network, back channel connection and favor I'm owed to see who knows what.
BWDO: Loving that, run the numbers for me.
JD: A big frustrating zero. No shape-shifting from the skrulls, hydra, double agents are just as confused as us...
BWDO: Well we haven't tried all our connections. We could --
JD: Not done! Doombot trojan-horse reports business as usual, dark web is indeed dark, speaking of webs, nothing from the spider pals.
BWDO: I get it, I get it. If we want some info on the Eidols we're going to have to get it ourselves.
Quake: If only there was a clandestine organization with the goal of archiving and organizing intel on dangerous individuals.
BWDO: Agent Johnson. Didn't see you there. Have you come to lend a hand?
Quake: I'm here to take you in for a briefing, because for a couple of spies you've been making a hell of a lot of noise.
JD: We're kind of trying to keep this all as contained as we can, Daisy. Top secret, need to know, all that junk.
Quake: Not my call. Fury sent an order that says you're coming to see him and that's what we're doing now.
BWDO:...Who says it's really Fury making that decision? In fact, who is to say you're who you claim to be?
Quake: Are we going to point at each other until an imposter reveals that they are among us? Or do you want to do some work?
BWDO: It's just rather convenient that as soon as we shattered one light-construction imitation another "friend" showed up.
Quake: Not a huge fan of the tone you put on "friend". I've got other ways to persuade you to report in, Nat.
JD: Is this where you toss in a "are we going to do this the easy way or the hard way" question?
Quake: The easy way was a few frustrating minutes ago. I'm okay with knocking you out and taking you with me at this point.
2.2
Narrator: Quake os shaken but not shut down. If anything she's just a bit more frustrated
Quake: Are we done here? It's me, what were you expecting?
JD: The constructs shattered like glass after enough hits. Some started mocking us with melodramatic monologues.
Quake:...You thought if you punched me I might shatter? Come on, that's weird even for the Battlerealm.
BWDO: Jessica can let you and Fury know all about it. I'm going to do the smart thing and split up with these slabs.
Quake: Splitting up is not now, nor ever, the smart thing to do.
BWDO: Staying grouped as a one easy target is the smarter thing? Team diversification is helpful to get a win, Daisy.
Quake: I don't care which one of you does it at this point, but -someone- go see him now!
JD: Well since you both asked so nicely, what choice do we have? Summmoner, let's find Fury.
Narrator: Back in the realm beyond realms, Isophene's solitude is disrupted by a visitation from another Iso-empowered being.
Isophene: I can sense you invader! You dare to reach into the power of the Iso-Sphere and sully this sacred realm with your pathetic mind?
Aegon: I dare. I have only travelled to this realm before for meditation. I never dreamed of finding another being connected to it.
Isophene: You cannot beg for salvation nor find mercy here. You must know that your extermination is a certainty and necessity.
Aegon: Indeed, you have a mission you alone must complete it. Which is what makes the arrival of your sibling so curious.
Isophene: When I was reassembled, it sent a signal for others to follow. To finish what was started and prepare this realm for the founders.
Aegon:And the others that follow, they shall also take such strange gless in the suffering and chaos they create?
Isophene: I...we... if that is the Founder's plan. If that is how their legend is known. Then it surely has a purpose beyond my understanding.
Aegon: There are champions that wish to nurture and support this realm. Many are lost souls simply trying to make a home in this place.
Isophene: Your circumstances are of no concern. I have witnessed the destruction that spreads wherever these "champions" reside.
Aegon: There is no singular champion. SOme are cruel, some kind. Both heroes and villains. Are you and the other Eidols all of one mind?
I: The mind of the founders, yes. We serve the same goal, the preservation of power to be exclusively utilized by their superior intellects.
A: Continue to tell yourself that, and reflect on the actions of those around you. I know that I shall do the same
I: I can tell what you are doing. You wish to turn me against my own kind due to our differing methods. It will not work.
A: Then I have a great sadness within me, I had reached out in hopes that you were not a mere tool of destruction. I had assumed That you were capable of thought, growth, and reason. I apologize for my intrusion and shall take my leave.
Narrator: Isophyne is once again left alone in the hidden Iso-dimension. Their gaze falls to observe the works of the other Eidol. For just a moment, the slightest shimmer of regret seems to pass over her features. It is quickly replaced by stern determination. Meanwhile, back in the contest, Spider-Woman arrives at one of Fury's many covet hangers.
Fury: What is the meaning of all this? Stealing ancient isn't enough, you're also dragging the summoner into your mess?
JD: Stealing? You've got bad intel Fury. Widow and I are doing everything we can to keep it in the right hands.
F: So where are the artifacts? We need to secure everything and ensure that the right hands are my hands.
JD:...They're with Nat. You know how to reach her don't you? Should just be a matter of comm tracking.
F: Of course I can do that. I just assumed a good agent would have that debriefing ready for me. That's simply proper training.
JD: Training, right. Speaking of early simple training techniques. Call and response: Diagonal cut toast.
F: What are you talking about?
JD: I'm talking about failing a day one passcode. Summoner, high alert. This weirdo is faking Fury, but our rage is going to be real.
Narrator: Responding to an urgent call, the summoner heads to a seemingly unremarkable steel door within the side of an asteroid. The door opens wide, revealing a darkened warehouse space filled with curiosities and oddities from across the multiverse
