They've said that when the box changes, so will the shards; so it's basically use them or lose them.

As some people have pointed out, it has nothing to do with money, they are essentially 8*. Also, the Titan crystal was starting to lose it's value because people would just hoard shards and get everything within the first week then start the process all over again. The basic 7* crystal was already starting to feel like a 6* crystal because most endgame players already have everything or at the very least 95% of the top champs so the basic is essentially useless it's only there for Titan shards. Ascension now encourages people to not only open more 7* crystals but Titans as well instead of hoarding hard.

Personally, I don't really find an issue with the crystal RNG aspect because if it wasn't RNG everyone would have the exact same ascensions in BGs, and also because that's just what I'm used to. When I get exactly everything I want and need in game with barely any effort I get bored, I'd very much rather get tilted from pulling a Patriot and then get hyped after pulling BPCW. That rollercoaster is what makes the game interesting to me

The one thing I DO absolutely have an issue with is the fact that new champs won't be ascendable unless you spend apocalyptic levels of money. That cash grab on the other hand is definitely bs and I really hope they do something about it tho it doesn't seem like they will.

Good question @BowTieJohn. This is separate from the victory track / gladiator circuit distinction. When you start a BG match, you have the option of entering with either energy (unranked) or tokens (ranked, which is the VT / circuit).

Unranked matches that you enter with energy do matchmaking purely on account size. You should play someone with a similar top-30 prestige. Ranked matches, on the other hand, are based on matching other people in the same VT tier as you, or a similar GC point ranking.

*I should note, of course: all this presumed that there aren't any more objectives coming...

Hello @Kabam (Osaurus) Rex, I believe this has more to do with inequity than Jean.

I think while fixing hulkling and the whole protection thing with thanos, inequity got buffed a lot.

So now Jean ( or any non DOT champ ) feels a lot slower in matches where she has debuffs on her ( most common matches were herself and photon )

Yah i hope we get more ways to get them because i’m only like halfway through milestones with current objectives. I dont know why they didn’t lay out all the ways to get them like they usually do for events like this.
