They really didn't even need to change the border color. The royal purple border was beautiful, and complemented the 7*'s very well. It's vibrance added a pop of color.
When 7*'s were first released, I saw a lot of compliments for the purple border. Now we have this bubble gum color mix.
Imo some gold lining would have been better. It keeps the original 7* aesthetic without taking away from it.
Ascension process, ascension border color....they're changing too much with the 7*'s.
MCOC’s New Currency Problem (Essentia)
Kabam introduces Essentia as the new currency, but when you convert old rewards into it, the value drops massively.
Players grind content for months (sometimes years), stockpile rewards, and then when the system changes the exchange rate suddenly says:
“Yeah… that stuff you earned? It’s worth way less now.”
That’s not a currency system — that’s retroactive devaluation.
Just this month alone before currencies switch over. Imagine grinding hard content for rewards this month under one economy, only to find out later they’re worth a fraction when you go to trade it in.
It creates a pretty obvious problem:
• Grind content → Convert to Essentia → lose value
• New system → screws you out of the time (sometimes money) you spent earning rewards
A game economy should reward long-term progression, not punish it.
Right now Essentia feels less like a new currency…
and more like a reset button on player value.

The game mode is not made to be player friendly, it has a failure rate of 50% and clearly was about maximizing profits. I try not to do it as much as possible, but then they tie MOST events into it in some capacity. It's not for me, I get that.
They still havent addressed the fact it takes forever to get a match. I routinely wait 30-40 seconds to match. Not being able to leave until everyone has at least 10 seconds for an emote is asinine. Matchmaking makes little sense. Hey though, everyone chase the shiny counter or buy items with cash.

Ya im sitting on over 30+ 5* awakening gems in each class that I dont need or could use when I'm literally only missing Madeline Pryor for the 5*. I also have some 6* awakening gems that I can't use like the rebirth awakening, romance awakening from last year that only worked on #valentines champs. The 6* AG's give a 7* sig stones which is cool. I'd take the 6* sig stones for the 5* AG. Seems logical enough?
I also have a rank up 2-3 gem for the regal ravagers that could only be used on 7* yondu or super skrull and I foolishly used my own resources to rank them up before I realized I would be getting one, so that one's going to sit in my inventory for years along with an extra Hell's bells that I somehow have even though I have the 7* HK Daredevil.
