On first glimpse all of these are champs who can currently be ascended. Given that May we should be getting a heart of fire/ omega days type event I am assuming that this time around it will focus on champion ascension. Question is if we get new 7 stars or old 7 stars ascensions.

I agree, I'm actually pretty happy with these changes overall. I like the relic stuff and the essentia store is better value than the other stores imo (for my account I mostly care about T7B, others of course feel differently based on what they're buying)

For me it’s mostly the nuke metas and the broken defenders as well as the hard counters for them. I’m currently sitting in Arcane 1 with no desire to play whatsoever, I’m sick of nuke metas and I’m sick of fighting the same damn defenders with the same attackers over and over again, everything just feels so damn stale. BGs truly feels like they’re starting to die, which is a shame cause for me personally it was the only game mode I could play for hours on a daily basis and not get bored.
Leveraging on the community's talents
It's been years since something new was created, we get 2 new champions every month and resources are definitely focused on creating stuff that can generate revenue
As such Kabam can leverage on the community to create new stuff together without having to divert resources
Every player can create their own fighting backgrounds that showcase their country's culture
Similar to street fighter where you have different fighting background that is from different country like Japan
I'm sure there are talents out there who can create nice HD graphics or players without experience who wants to attempt creating something that might be used in future
Kabam can reward such creators with units, a unique title, things that doesn't cost Kabam anything
The community can get to showcase their talents and their country's beautiful culture
It's really a win win situation that can make the game better and more enjoyable with more beautiful fighting backgrounds

if you repeat the final quest of the Hammer SQ it'll give you 400 shards. Keep repeating until you get enough.

I don't get all the AQ potions? They encourage you to do all these different game modes, and then reward you with potions for only one mode. Butt F'ing stupid. More junk that sits in the stash that'll expire or be sold for a pittance.
How about a selector so we can choose what potions would actually benefit us for the content we actually need it for. Shocking concept, I know…

Like I said, most people in Mysterium and below don't have the time or the patience to be grinding 4-6 hours straight daily which is why the usual suspects are always up there and Celestial rankings rarely see new players at the top.
I say this as someone who has literally placed Mysterium by barely playing around 5 matches a day, last season I took Quantum barely playing about 3 matches a day because I'm getting burned out from the game and don't feel like really putting in more effort. If I'm getting that high with that little effort then I doubt the skill factor plays that much of a bigger role in Celestial, if someone is already skilled enough to place Mysterium with little to moderate effort then it's very likely they could place Celestial if they had the time and patience to sit down and play for 4 hours straight. You don't get to Celestial with skills alone, you get there by also playing consistently for extended periods of time every single day and rerolling again and again match after match. Defenders these days are designed in such a way that skill doesn't really matter as much as drafting counters (luck) for said defenders, you either drafted one of the top Serpent counters and take a walk in the park or you get cooked there is no in-between unless both of you happened to get trapped which from my own experience rarely happens to that degree.
So no, hard disagree with the "draft luck isn't one of the biggest factor these days" because for me personally it is based on my own experience. The reason you don't see the rankings change drastically is because like I said most people actually need to touch grass every day and get that vitamin D from sunlight.
