So you would cheat given the opportunity , good to know.
@CoatHang3r Oh my goodness. I don't know anyone that wouldn't run a quest for extra full basics and 5*s because it's "cheating." Besides which, taking advantage of a glitch is gaming, not cheating.
Miike said exploiting the glitch is against ToS, so guess we can consider that cheating. Don't expect the rewards to stick.

I think calling it a cheat is stretching it. It is a loophole. The players that have taken advantage did not have to use mods, account share or anything else. Kabam is giving the rewards. I guess you would stop and alert Kabam after you received these rewards after one path.
In gaming terms, for years, this is referred to as an "exploit." It is still completely considered cheating. I found out about the exploit and pointedly did not run anymore Master exploration for the day. I may have lost out by not using my energy, but I didn't cheat.
This is a game where effort (and money, but I'm not a spender since 12.0) yields rewards, which gives you the incentive to keep playing. Cheating your way to victory (and an exploit is, by definition, a cheat) undermines the game and undermines your own enjoyment.
I mean, have you ever activated God Mode in a video game and NOT gotten bored after the first 5 minutes?
How is an exploit cheating "by definition?" No part of the definition of an exploit necessitates cheating. The definition of cheating does require rule breaking, however, and no rules were broken. Feel free to take the moral high ground and refuse to exploit glitches, but people who do otherwise are not cheating. No one was cheating when AW allowed you to see who your opponent was going to be. While that glitch was active, to not exploit it would be poor strategy.

Your definition of cheating is flawed and false. Might want to open a dictionary or since you are online dictionary.com

Well to be fair taking advantage of the flaws in the game (via the code the developers allowed for public use) and not inserting any other malicious code would be just playing the game

You did author this thread, how did you describe it? Oh yeah as cheating.

Well video games are complicated
Using an action replay, is a cheat
Sonic Boom pause jumping with knuckles… is in the game's code (technically part of the game)
Using a hacked 631 ditto to breed? That's a gray area
Lmao y'all are so rediculous. Cheating is relative (apparently), so arguing over the definition of cheating is a waste of time. Kabam knew they'd mess up at some point, so they covered themselves by adding that "exploits" are against the terms of service (which in my opinion is wrong). Regardless, people "agreed" to the TOS, so they are required to abide by it. I'm indifferent in the matter and couldn't really care less as to whether or not the people get to keep their rewards. I just don't want to see alliance members and long time veterans get banned for Kabam's screw up.
At the end of the day someone could easily come up with some excuse as to why they wanted to run through beginner so many times. For example, they could say they're going on vacation at the end of the month and wanted to run through beginner for the units while they had time. There are just too many loopholes. Kabam won't be able to just ban everyone - that would crumble alliances. They also can't just revoke all of the rewards because people have already started spending their shards/t4cats and on top of that units were spent to run through quests as many times as possible.
Either way people will complain and cry about whatever happens. I'm not going to propose a solution because it would be a waste of time. They're going to do whatever they decide is "fair" and the game will continue on.
Hey everyone! This thread isn't very constructive, and for this reason, I'll be closing it down. With that being said though, I'll be putting a link to our friend Kabam Zibiit's post on the issue hereto help shed some light on the situation.

Miike says it's against ToS to knowingly exploit...so yeah the convo is over

And no, I didn't get to benefit from the glitch.
Cheers
