Thank you all for your feedback. We understand that this offer is not going to appeal to everybody. The selection of Champions contained in the crystals is not random, though. Each Champion included is a unique part of the history of Marvel Contest of Champions, and has been significant to the game or Community in one way or another.
Can you guess why each of them were included? I can start it off with Blade: The Community spread the word far and wide, "Save for Blade!".
Im going to guess that Groot was added because he is a tree. Technically this is a cheaper tree than if I would go to the store and buy one.
I understand that these may have a unique part of the history but for 99.99. I mean is this a trophy purchase? Why would anyone pay 99.99 to get a groot.

There are two things here. 1. I agree that having this crystal could be fun for some people, but the price tag is straight out of the 2 year anniversary’s time period. This is a shot at a few decent champs and the rest are trash, some had said $30, personally I wouldn’t spend more than $10, but not all deals are for everyone. At $99 this screams out of touch. 2. I am sorry, but you missed the boat on champ selection. Who has ever wanted to “save for” Groot, RR, IF, CW, Cyclops, Crossbones, CA, MK, VP. Those are a selection of some of the worst champs in the game.

Really? A good story but the price is still ridiculous over the top! Reduce it to 10,99 € and people will buy it! U will make more Money and make more People happy!

I'm curious to know the reason as to why Moon Knight, Groot, and Venompool were included and how they affected the community. If anything they affect the community by spreading disappointment and burnout among summoners
Moon Knight uses some of the most unique Tech in the Game. His abilities change with the phases of the Moon. Groot uses a Unique Character Skeleton and was the first Champion to include a Different Champion in their Special Attacks. The rest, you guys will have to figure out...

It’s all well and good to put champs in there that mean something to you....but to slap the $99 price tag on it is out of touch and frankly insulting.

This would have been a fun guessing game in the following scenario:
1. You didn’t charge us $100 to play it. 2. The reward for guessing correctly was a current relevant champ (not a useless relic) 3. It wasn’t disguised as a reward but more as the boobie prize that it is.
Too much focus on the bad champs in it. A lot had either good or bad moments with the community ie Cyclops the AQ king. Every deal has some bad champs mixed in with the good. The biggest issue here is that this offer has no business being more then $40. At the $99 price tag this has no business in the game and it's a good offer for anyone.
Rocket - first champ to have an SP3 against him with specific graphics Karnak - first champ to have the need for 2 different Cats Civil Warrior & Gulli - MCOC made champions Star-Lord - Champion used to complete ROL and LOL Electro - First champ to have dmg to be dealt back to the champ upon hitting them Hood - First champ with invisibility Human Torch - first Pre Fight ability Crossbones - first champ to possibly convert debuffs into buffs

I see you included Thor who I assume represents the first god tier champ that you made terrible with the 12.0 update. Probably should have added Dr Strange and Scarlett Witch to this crystal as well to round out the group.

I guess I could buy that explanation. It does seem like a bit of a stretch, but it’s not unfeasible.
Where my confusion stems from is why the in-game mail announced that:
If the reasoning behind the champ selection was, as you stated, based on a certain merit attributed to each champ for their unique contribution to the game’s history, why was that not communicated in the official announcement? Why only after public backlash?
You can see why people would find this explanation a bit hard to believe, it’s easy to perceive it as a hurried attempt to lend a sliver of credibility to a baffling offer.
I don’t particularly have a problem with the offer itself. I saw it and was momentarily bemused, and forgot about it until I came across this thread. But the explanation you gave seemed a little odd. I fully understand that you don’t make these decisions, but I feel like this could have been handled a little better.
Well... gonna try to justify that offer here... see it that way : it's Kabam's game anniversary after all, so it makes sense that we would be the ones offering them an anniversary gift, with our hard earned money.

“Not going to appeal to everybody”?? Who the hell does this appeal too? I seriously hope the person who decided this offer was a good idea for the 5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY! Was actually fired, what a slap in the face for guys like me who have been around since day one

Blade isn't what he used to be, most of the new good defenders are hero's or mercs.
Karnak - first champ to have the need for 2 different Cats
Civil Warrior & Gulli - MCOC made champions
Star-Lord - Champion used to complete ROL and LOL
Electro - First champ to have dmg to be dealt back to the champ upon hitting them
