I exploring the whole thing in one sitting today, enjoyed very second of it. Didn't feel like I had to throw revives at it because of some unavoidable damage I couldn't counter, like in act 6. And every path was fun, there wasn't any paths where I was like "I dont have x champion so I can't do that path without having to spend 20 revives." Was a really great piece of content with great rewards.
It's was a "great piece of content " because it was easy , look how many people ran through it already... a lot average /slightly above average players was able to 100% so fast.
TBH, I feel both sides have valid points. I feel act 7 should proceed the way it is, but some new high level variant 1, pre nerf act 6 level content should be released for endgame players. Something that can't be blitzed through with units. High risk, high reward. Something like that can be untouched by the mid game players. But I disagree with the fact that content every player should do should be tailored to the top 5%. Just give them something to teethe on till the rest of us poor mortals catch up.
That sounds good , but the only thing is that type of content would be put out every 2-3+ years.

Every quarter will be good. Tbh, most players who want challenging content can’t be too bothered with the rewards.
So something like the Maze would have been nice. Offer up something like 25% T5CC or 15% T5CC Selector as exploration rewards, and ignore the “rewards are not worth the time/effort exploring” posts.
I agree with the idea that there should be a super hard content for endgame players but act 7 should be as fun as it can be and Kabam should continue to go in this direction with act 7.
It was the perfect combination of fun and challenging
It wasn't challenging at all
If you're using god tier champs at r5 then yeah. It's a slight inconvenience at best compared to the atrocity of act 6. But it let us use other chamsp we couldn't have usually used
Act 7 it's supposed to be endgame content, and you should use 'endgame' champions
These trolls that disagree with this fact are the same people that will come to the forums and complain (or even cry) if something is challenging. They are the same people that complain about the Champion in 6.2.6. These people have ruined the game for endgame players
unfortunately there's more average players than end game players, i think end game players might make up 20 % and 80 % average players like myself, you guys have summer of pain and abbys, story mode are not end game content I've yet to play a game where a story mode is end game content, its not like they have different modes like easy, medium, hard, hardcore its just one mode, i think story mode should be fun, and challenging also not restrictive if you're end game and act 7.1 is too easy then try doing it with 6 star rank 1 or 5 star rank 3 champs then you will have some challenge, or try to do act 7.1 itemless.
Designing content is hard - look at Abyss. It was advertised as endgame content, to be handled by 6-star R3+ champions, and not to be fully explored for months. And yet, some players managed to do it in a few days/weeks. Now that there is a 'strategy' (the horseman), it can be done by 'non endgame' players if they choose.
I wasn't a part of Act 7.1 beta, but it seems the feedback was that it was too difficult or unfair. So clearly, Kabam struggled to hit the mark of making challenging content but fair.
For what its worth, Act 7.1 is very promising content. Making lanes 6 fights in length is appreciated. Having the mechanic of being able to swap out one champion so you don't have to bring your bosskiller along the path is also a nice idea. Having three different 'bosses' is also a neat idea as well.
Hopefully they carry these ideas forward and introduce new nodes/mechanics as well. Maybe the Rooted mechanic from last month will rear its head.

One of Genious's posts, however the blockquote got messed up
He couldn't even spell Genius correctly.

Nothing makes me happier than seeing that red square over genious' account. Lol
