Unless someone can prove to me that CGR is better than Hype in SQ, EQ, story, and Incursions than I am staying on pro hyperion.
Side quest is easy, CGR does it quicker, 2 combos, sp2 fight over.
EQ is easy, CGR benefits from the current cosmic global way more than Hyp. When buffed up comes back, Hyp will be better
story, i think CGR covers more content and does it faster than Hyp, but anywhere CGR doesn't work hyp will be very good.
Hype can do all of those equally as well. And theres no way CGR can get to a sp2 in 2 combos. Hype can tho. For story, Hyperion can do so much more bosses, and I forgot he's a boss for most of the variants too. And you didnt answer that incursions question.Hmmmmmmm
Ok, you probably havent played CGR too much then. MLLLM, MLLLL and a couple parries gets you to Sp2.
Incursions makes Annihulus one of the highest damage champions in the game. Irrelevant content when discussing how good a champion is
he can after a sp3 but not off the bat. And how is incursion irrelevent? And all your saying is Annihulus is a god in incursions which is true but Hyperion is too. He is crazy with buff corn, that weird degen thing, etc.
No he definitely can right off the bat, have you not played him much? If you have one, go for Parry MLLLM, reparry MLLLM, parry and you can use an sp2. If you are short, do one medium or heavy attack.
I do have him I love using my 4 star in UC and some Cav difficulty and he is a bunch of fun, but IMO Hyperion is just better
Ok, not exactly my point. You realise he can do an Sp2 after 2 combos though right?
Which is better, 0 combos or 2 combos?
You're implying Hyperion starts off with two bars off the bat. Instead of the dancing around for 15 seconds it is in reality
CGR reaches his first sp2 faster but Hyperion is far more consistent. Which balances it out because one sp2 from CGR is the equivalent of say, 3 sp2s from Hyperion. (Could be inaccurate, just throwing numbers).

I did 2 combos but I was like half a bar short. Hmm thats weird I even triggered the power gain.
In that case trigger aptitude buff before power gain, that gives you more than 2bars of power.

Yes that is quite inaccurate
The fun starts after he throws sp2, as the opponent got 11 armour breaks and CGR hits 30k mediums

lol CGR can get WS down in RoL in 3-4 Sp2. How many does Hyp take?

That was kinda just an irony bomb
I got it, just not really relevant situations though. Nice zinger though I guess.

If you use 1sp3, he only takes 1sp2 to finish off.

May not seem it, but I enjoyed debating. See ya around the forums lol
Lol it was kinda fun, much better than Elsa debate.
Now you've done it lol, brought Elsa into the debate.
I think this is just one of those situations where neither opinion will really change. I just think over time people will get more used to CGR's uses and rotations.
I'm not, and never have, been trashing on Hyp. I love mine, I just think that if he was released today, people wouldn't choose him over CGR. I think the familiarity and nostalgia are in his favour, but additionally, yeah he is simpler so he has that going for him.

Yeah I respect your opinion but not some of your arguments (It was fun though). And I love CGR and he is wayyyy cooler than Hype.
Whoever designed Hyperion back in the day is probably feeling well proud that they designed a champion that can stand up to one released 4 or so years after him.
For me Hyperion's simplicity gives him the edge. I can pick him up and go hit things without watching a single guide or scratching my head over a bunch of text.
I haven’t voted yet because honestly I don’t have an answer, but there are two aspects of Hyperion that I don’t think anybody has fully brought up yet.
First, his ability to put up significant non-contact damage. There are some obnoxious fights throughout the game, such as an Electro variant boss, that Hyperion is uniquely well-suited for. Because he can spam both his sp1 and sp3 without ever needing to touch the opponent, he’s got a lot of quiet utility there. This isn’t a common situation, but if we’re really getting into the weeds on these champs, then it’s worth bringing up.
Second, I’d argue that his simplicity is utility. Besides the obvious nodes that would just slap him with a damaging debuff until he dies, there are few if any nodes that really stop Hyperion. Stun immunity can be easily adapted to by popping an sp3 for the damage boost and then using heavy to punish the opponents heavies and specials. Even if he’s power locked from the jump, he can still output serious damage. Because he’s so simple, it’s hard to really rattle his playstyle.
I have both champs as 5/65 and I’d probably bring Hyperion into most content over CGR just because I’m more comfortable with his kit, but I couldn’t tell you who the better champion is.
