I don't really think it's getting harder or faster. One of these threads pops up every 6 months or so, and I think it's just tweaks to how the ai fights. It also isn't consistent across modes. Aq symbioids still give me more trouble than either bot, arena is still easier for me on weekdays than Sundays, story mode is fine except for game glitches. Just ran 6.3.5 yesterday and it was pretty normal aside from lag. If anything, it seemed like champs were actually going slower. So I don't know, I think we just need to adapt to changed ai behavior but not freak out. Kabam has said before that stuff can periodically change, but they aren't going to tell you when it does cuz that spoils the game. Try switching champs. Sometimes if you mix up your play style like that you can find the right strategy to counter the ai. Bwdo, herc, bp, whoever else is a good intercepter?
I have been playing the game for a couple of years and honestly, this is the most noticeable change in AI. Actually, I cannot remember another time where I felt the AI had changed, until recently. That piled on top of the gameplay issues causes a less enjoyable experience. We all know that AIs are different, some more aggressive than others (i.e. Venom compared to Mordo), but these AI changes are not minor, but rather major.
I can deal with the AI being "smarter" to an extent (for example it seems when i start a fight with ghost, more opponents dash back and don't hit into my phase than they used to), but not when Mordo has powergain and when I heavy, he special intercepts me constantly. Or not being able to dash in at all when the opponent has a bar of power because you will get slapped, but the AI not wanting to throw specials.
I agree on every point made, it's been like this for a couple of months from what I can tell. To me it also seems like the AI has "situational awareness", wondering what you guys think. Example: when using Mysterio sfter an sp1 I'll drop block and expect to get hit to reflect damage. The AI will just stand there holding block until the timer is almost out, then land a hit to leave me open for a combo. There's more things I've noticed too, just wondering if others are seeing this kind of stuff.
Completely agree. When I enter a fight with ghost, I expect the AI to hit my phase, but instead they will dash back.
Whenever I fight Venompool and Miles they special intercept me with their sp2s the moment they reach it so i have to bait it out. If i even attempt to attack into their block when they have a sp2 i'm getting hit 100%
I have the same issue with venompool. Not miles though. I also find that my block drops sometimes when the opponent hits into my block with a full combo. I had that with the tigra boss on the side event while using torch. The AI is getting smarter for sure.
I have noticed when trying to reparry, my block will drop and I will get combo'd. I am guessing this is to do with the input issues tho....

I used to be able to do it super reliably but can’t after the most recent update. Either the AI has sped up and stands up much quicker, or we are much slower and can’t dash as soon after a heavy.
I been getting interrupted heavies alot. Example i the ai attacks. I parry and stun throw a heavy first part of heavy hits then the ai evades second stage of heavy then slingshots back to punish my butt

That also sounds like results of Ai speed increases. The “dormant stun” or part of the attack that keeps them locked into the heavy/special/combo is being sped up along with everything else. Meaning your special stops connecting and your multi-hit heavies leave gaps they can recover in.

Something that’s happened a few times to me recently in AW against champs that have a fast projectile sp2, eg super skrull, nova… point blank refusing to throw sp1, I daren’t dash in and block hit for fear of getting intercepted, they eventually get to sp2 and instantly throw it the moment i dash back and clatter me.

in some cases it is reliable, it just depends on matchup and timing ofc like everything is always important, but not every champ you will be able to stand up intercept, like VTD for example, no champ can really reliably do it, no matter size S or XL.
My main experience with buggy A.I has been aq map 8, either they're randomly defensive holding their special forever or randomly aggressive and doing clean special intercepts

The recovery time from a knock down by a SP is ridiculously fast. Plus they’re holding back SP1 and SP2 but once SP3 they let go in .01 seconds. It’s quite annoying, like we have to use 6r3s or no chance to do any higher content. I was doing map 4+ heroic mod, I got hit with a 17k mid Attack damage right at the start of the fight.

Sersi was broken for me on that. Everytime she knocked me down with her sp1, when she dashed in for an attack she always whiffed her first hit
My issue is with shallow evades. The AI is becoming a master at it. I should seriously start recording. I have been shallow evaded and clapped at least 5x in the past week or so. It's ridiculous. Not even going to mention light and special intercepts coz that's just a norm now.
Yesterday I fought UC Sersi and it didn't went really well for me. I used Doom and when she knocked me down with her sp 2 then she dash forward right away at me while Doom is still in the motion of getting up. I'm like "WTF??" the AI can do that now? I swear Doom was just about to get up and she charged forward straight away.
Getting hit while recovering from their specials seems common.
Nowadays I’m getting hit after I’ve used my specials … (getting countered while I tried to attack the AI while they recover from that special). That’s what pisses me off. Ridiculous recovery time.
I honestly don't care about special intercepting as much since it can be played around, what I hate is baiting like 5 times before the ai throws a special. An aggressive ai that throws specials is way more fun

Special intercept is definitely something, we need to have to look for recently.
