Although i can see deadpool x-force still doesnt have much viability, his buff has still made him a lot better than before. Not every buff will be crazy op but the idea of it is to make the champ better than before

I’m finding DPX is very smooth now when it comes to intercepting his swords have a nice reach to them, his sp1 feels fluid and satisfying to launch into the opponent, the more and more I play him as I have the 6* at rank 2, the more disappointed I am that his kit was so lackluster’ly updated, I am becoming tired of harping on that matter since everyone is congruently accepting his animations are wonderful and the damage and utility is terrible, taunt is nice but with the input and ai issues it doesn’t seem to be safe to play aggressively which his current situation stands, anyway he should be buffed or updated again soon because this is becoming greater of a sensation to retire the game after 5 plus years of consistent playing. Sincerely, just a guy who loves mcoc and wants things to be better.

Right I don’t need him to be broken OP good, but after a full rework he should at least be in the top half of his class, and he’s still in the bottom 25%

I agree Yondu's buff has actually made him decent. DPXF on the other hand the animations were nailed perfectly all he needed was adjustments in damage and bleeds and he would be much more fun.
DPX would be significantly better he offered something unique like passive stuns (on well-timed blocks), as well as passive taunts and bleeds (make the bleeds last longer since no deep wounds). Not crushing the world, but significant improvement, maintains class superiority, and offers something useful. I'd even be OK with his bleeds staying weak in that case.

I wish this iteration of Deadpool could have had his most iconic power, regeneration.

If you read the source material, X-Force Pool doesn't have his Regen if I remember correctly

We're never going to have a situation where all Champs are usable options for everything. The game will always have a range of Champs, some more powerful than others depending on the job, and some more powerful overall. That depends on what the task is, but it's also a byproduct of Players comparing and rating Champions.
Comparing, looking for the best, has been a thing as long as I can remember, and it's not likely going to change. The caveat with that is, as long as a comparison is being made, there will always be a least preferred, a lower, a "useless". It's inevitable. Many times I've heard "X Champ does it better", but that's never been a factor in their calculations, evident by the information they've shared on these from what I gather, and that's for good reason if you ask me. That's a never-ending chase. As soon as you get them all up to that "par" (as in seen R3-worthy), you have to turn around and start the process all over again.
I'm not saying people don't have the right to express their dissatisfaction, and I'm not even saying they're wrong. What I'm saying is there is a difference between our goals and their goals.

From the comics I’ve seen, Deadpool “x-force” loses his powers once.

Deadpool 2008 issue 52, Deadpool white suit loses his powers on the last page when Bob injects him with the serum

Deadpool keeps his white suit for issue 53 and removes it in issue 54, opting to walk around with no suit for that issue. He returns to the red suit in issue 55.

If there is another case where Deadpool X-Force loses his powers please let me know. But considering Deadpool X-Force loses his powers for ONE issue and all other iterations of Deadpool X-Force (Uncanny, Cable/Messiah Wars) have their powers, it doesn’t do the character justice to say Deadpool X-Force doesn’t have regeneration. That is unless they are basing him off of ONE SINGULAR ISSUE, which is silly.
Uncanny X force #25 and onwards took place after he had last his healing factor.

I disagree. The point isn't to make the champ better than before, the point is to make the champ usable in the current version of the Contest. Better than before but still bad does not accomplish this. For a champ that has been around as long as Deadpool X, and has been bad from day one, I don't understand the point of reworking him if he is still going to be bad.
    Indeed.
For some champs, "better than before" is still a low bar - and considering that his original kit was something like

    - bleed on sp2
    - bleed on sp3
    - power gain when he hits a certain percentage of HP
    - cause non-stacking bleed on hit

Improving on that isn't exactly difficult

    Making him usable? Yeah.

Thanks for the clarification, I didn’t remember that. I still think omitting Deadpool’s regen doesn’t do the character justice since the period of time he lost his healing factor is minor. Also, the suppression of his healing factor was temporary since the serum wasn’t permanent. Maybe they can have a delayed regen that ramps up in potency as the match goes on, similar to King Groot and his malice buff which increases fury potency .

We're never going to have a situation where all Champs are usable options for everything.

Who said anything about usable for everything? I said usable. One of the actual purposes of the buff program is to make champs that aren't really usable in the contest, which people hate to pull, and make them usable. Sometimes they may get a fantastic buff like Diablo. Sometimes they may just become a more viable option. If they remain mostly unusable, it was a failed buff. This shouldn't be difficult to grasp.

Unusable is an exaggeration. No Champ is literally unusable.

Thank you for pointing this out. Here I was thinking that Groot actually wouldn't work if I took him into content...
  • GroundedWisdomGroundedWisdom Member Posts: 36,567 ★★★★★
That's kind of the whole point of this. Usable is subjective, and the point of these isn't to make them all "usable" for all levels of Players. These reworks aren't done with mind-blowing outcomes in mind. When you have a Champ that's particularly limited and you do a revision, they're going to be better, but still limited. It's not about playing Jenga, and taking a block from the bottom and putting it on top.
I don't know how many times I can say it, but making end-game Players happy isn't the sole objective of these.

Try using your 1* symbioid in arena. He is literally unusable.
Alright, that one I'll give you. I actually posted a suggestion to remove him from the selection list. Lol.

I don't know how many times I can say it, but making end-game Players happy isn't the sole objective of these.

We’re asking for just one champion that is reasonably usable in end game content. Nobody is saying every single one should.

There hasn’t been a single buff this year that makes end game players happy, because so far they’re aimed at lower players. That’s fine for some, even the majority. But the issue is that this new program isn’t being as brave or pushing the boat out and having *any* buffs that are aimed at higher players. If that’s going to be the case, I’d rather kabam come out and say it - rather than my hopes getting consistently dashed month after month.

I'm happy with both of these changes. Yondu was already quite good and useful imo, not super useful or amazing, but I leveled and ranked him at 5 star.
DPX needed something, anything. He go it. It's perfect for him. Not all champs need to become god tier, mostly because if they are all god tier, then god tier ceases to exist, because it's about comparison. But all champs need to be at least somewhat individualised. Goldpool should have a #metal, for instance. Same with Platpool. DPX is now hilarious, and true to form. He was my second 6 star, it was disappointing. Now I will take him to rank 2, just for laughs, and maybe one day rank 3. But I am under no illusions here, he's not god tier, but is the way he should be.

Not all champs need to become god tier

Nobody has ever said they need to be. This sentence is repeated so many times it’s just a go-to line by anyone who hasn’t read the points being made properly.

Nobody has said every champ needs to be god tier. What we are saying is that so far the buff program has been pretty uninspired from an end game perspective, this could be about DPXF, Yondu, Mordo, Psycho man or any of the other pretty uninspired buffs. I don’t know why it’s centred around DP, maybe because he’s a beloved character, been a meme since day 1, and he’s been hyped for a few months since kabam announced he was getting a buff. This is not just about him, this is about the buff program providing something for everyone. It’s handling mid-low tier players well, why not end game?

I disagree, both in your assessment and your statement that people are looking for one. In fact, the same arguments come up every buff.
There have been a number of buffs that have made people happy. They're not all going to be hits.

Which of the buffs of this program have made a large proportion of end game players happy like the last buff program did with a multitude of champions?

You're entitled to your opinion, but it showcases how impossible it is to satisfy some people. The buff was good. Period.
